I saw these guys twice. I love the bass player! Three of my Asian friends saw them each time. We we're one of the few Asians who attended. We loved punk and supported any Asian punk bands in LA. At the end of the show, a few caucasian girls walked by as we we're talking out in the street, and they said to us, "Great show!" We were confused, until we looked our friend, Carl, who is short and has long hair. We busted up laugh, nearly crying. "They think you're the bassist!" The riot grrls saw their mistake and kept walking, embarrassed. Carl in his ascerbic way was dumbfounded and we laughed in a total meltdown. The second time we saw Melt Banana was at Silver Lake (L.A.). There were at least 4 other local bands who were okay. But when MB stepped on and they did three precision songs under 2 minutes, I saw several them slack jawed. They realized they were outclassed and out punked. After the shows, they were super nice like most Japanese are. Agata talked to us about how he is inspired by pure NY no wave. That explains they're style best, mixed with Japanese punk and precision.
I'm STILL in love with rika . Singer gets all the praise, believe she deserves praise, she isgenius, unique, crazy and collected all at the same time, but MAN rika has always destroyed. She is super beautiful and a full on badass. ,

I put this on not realizing where it was shot, then saw myself!
Wish they had a full band again
My favorite live video of this song, lots of Rika Hamamoto video, she is awesome on bass. Too bad she is not in the band anymore.
Absolutely. She's killing it here.
