Ten Four (10 4) Parade in Hollywood supporting California Highway Patrol 2013

- This incredible annual event brings vintage police vehicles (both real and movie) together, in a parade down Hollywood Boulevard to Broderick Crawford's pavement star. I first attended in 2008 but this year I was invited back by Gary Goltz the organiser, to be part of it. The event is attended by enthusiast for TV shows like Highway Patrol, CHiPs and Adam 12. There are also a few of the actors who worked on these shows who turn up to join in. The real stars however are of course the vehicles themselves, most of which are in 'like new' condition.
Having been involved with Brooklands own Emergency Vehicle May Day event, since its conception, I was very keen to see how the yanks would organise their event. It soon became clear all you need is enthusiasm and a councilmen like Tom LaBonge, who can just shut Hollywood down while a bunch of car nuts enjoy themselves! Throw in characters like Shotgun Tom Kelly, Dave Skyler, Thomas Weller and Len Nordmann, plus a few TV people like Florrie Shaen, Fred Dryer, Paul Linke, Lou Wagner, Larry Wilcox, Thomas Williams and Dennis Donnelly. Then lastly a few beauty queens and you have the makings of an exciting, fun day.
What a great turnout!! Plus, I saw the Batmobile, KITT, Highway Patrol. I thought I had heard Broderick Crawford's voice. Just saw the Ferrari from "Magnum, P.I." "Starsky's Torino". What a beautiful day for such a great turnout!!
i loved the caprice police cars in the 80's.
Very excited to see Larry back riding 7-Mary-3. ❤
I live on Chicago and the LAPD were always Americas’s police force-classic!
It's great to see Larry Wilcox and Paul Linke!!!
so many old cars.. i love it
So many awesome vehicles
it's wonderful‼️
Thank you! Cheers!
The fact that 'Rosco' showed up in his Cruiset is awesome
What a terrific video of our event!
Seeing a 1991 Crown Victoria in 2:22 makes me appreciate my old 1989 LX, as I have a piece of old school police history.
Keep yer eyes out for my white 56 Mercury ambulance "SEARCH ND RESCUE" bringing up the rear -- [ there were a number of problems with these old cars -- as many of them were NOT "daily drivers" and generators, alternators and batteries were put to the TEST with all the lights and sirens and horns ] My Merc, and her tools, and my expertise came in handy to keep things moving --- :) It WAS fun helpin out back then :)
It was great to have been part of it.
3:29 lapd using horn for the first time
A lot of restorationists forgot that all emergency vehicles in California are required to have 1 steady red minimum.
i loved the 1980's chevys.
I love your classic cars 👍
I see that Beige 67 Fairlane. Now where can I talk to Sergeant Friday and Gannon?

@@Kjk_808 nope, that's an American LaFrance. Plus, Tiller trucks in the LA metro area are called "Light Force".
Were there any all white highway patrol cars used in the 70s for chp
I did not remember seeing any, but there could have been as the convoy was very big.
@@AndysVideo ok thank you
Where are these cars stored!?!
The ones owned by the studios at the studios, the rest came mainly from their owners homes in California, but also further afield across the west USA.
Imagine if those cops did that now, BLM would burn those antique cars. 😩
Schönes deutsches Polizeiauto
Nice but in the future they should have sorted the parade in year model order on the cars-oldest first😀👍
