Wish you would talk about the sound systems sometimes.
Standard sound system, well it's nice but certainly not stand out, it's Harman Kardon system though. The Premium Package (Bower and Wilkins, one), that's the real deal! Definitely worth the upgrade! Even it's a steep 3000 US$ (at least in my country). Is it the best? Umm well it's on par with Burmester system found in Merc (I tried it on my pal's GLS) but audio sake, Meridian system is tad better.

Therefore the window is split and you can't even put your arm out, so I am not sure if this is better than a non-splitted window that doesn't go down completely 🤔
@@d1on a non split window which only goes down halfway is usually the reserve of cheap cars, city cars, yoghurt pots on wheels.
So not sure why Audi and other expensive pseudo "premium" brands don't have windows that go all the way down

if anything these guys go into a bit too much detail.. they really need to make 2 videos for each car.. the long version and the 5 minute version - don't forget sometimes people watch several videos about different cars... so the total time adds up, but when you're really interested in a car then you'll want to watch the long version.

So it has beams that can shine up to 600 meters so traffic up ahead know in advance a BMW driver is steaming up their rear. Then it has a camera in the nose so BMW drivers can tailgate even closer than before. I mean you gotta give it to them, they know their clientele well.

I have a 22 x5 45e and it's amazing but I would personally buy a bentayga hybrid if you have the extra cash but the x5 is definitely the best in its class even compared to the cayenne hybrid that my friend has

It looks like it works using nfc, apple doesn't allow third parties to access their built in nfc chips. Only for apple pay.
Don't really need either if you're honest with yourself. Both are complete luxuries not necessities. My E91 320D doesn't have either, but I can use my phone as a satnav and stream audio and phone calls via bluetooth though the car's idrive. That's enough. That said, two seperate systems with different OS is just stupid, but it's to with licencing and technology.

The X5 probably has keyless entry so why would you need to open it using a mobile??
I bought one of these 4 months ago, I've done 3k miles in it and I absolutely love it!!
Went for the 30D, plenty of power and performance dont feel like i'd need any more power. Got the comfort plus and M sport Plus packs, exhaust note is great because of it.

Absolutely, I drove a 40i fully loaded and I’ve been in all types of Luxury SUVs, Range Rover, GLE, and Bentayga and the X5 depending on spec can be even better than those. I rather own an X5 than a Bentayga I know it’s kinda of a stretch but an X5 is more useful and capable.

I’m from Malaysia.. 2020 BMW X5 is selling at MYR622,000.00 . 2020 Volvo XC90 Top Spec is selling at MYR410,000.00 and that’s about MYR200,000.00 (Pound Sterling 38,000.00) difference.

Brilliant review.
I drive an X3 MSport and had always wondered if there was much difference between the two. After driving an X5 as a courtesy car for a week my X3 felt like a toy when I got back in it. I bloody love the X5 😍
That tailgate lowering function is great for dogs and generally, I like the inclusions in the boot/tailgate area such as the gas struts and electric tailgate.

the x7 is just a tad longer than the x5..but a bit narrower by 0.2mm..i don't get the point of that..if they were gonna make an suv a class above why dont they make it a size above the x5..interior of both r identical too..and leg room for the so called true 7 seater x7 is just adequate..the merc gls has better third row legroom

Honestly when it comes to SUVs I think looks are secondary to it's capability etc. The Cullinan is visually challenging, but tell me you wouldn't want to be inside one enjoying all that luxury...

After driving this and the new GLE back to back, this is best in class hands down unless you want more space in the back seat. The merino leather and interior quality in the X5 trumps the GLE450 hands down. I wasn’t expecting that much of a blowout with the X5 but it is

Drove one of these on an extended test drive. Trust me it's the SUV to have, absolutely stunning features and the driving characteristics are beautiful. You really do feel special in it, fit and finish helps with that. The only thing it's missing is a cd player.

I have the F15 X5 40D 2017 X5. This was a great video and this latest model definitely has enhanced tech, cleverer internal design etc but it's no way near as good-looking nor timeless. I don't really see a compelling reason to upgrade (especially for an extra ~40k!) Got mine for 32k 2 years ago which is a bloody bargain it seems!

DON'T BUY!!! Worst car I have ever driven -- this car told me powertrain malfunctioning and just shut itself off on a high way. BMW North America, after investigated for a month, told me nothing they can do. So called luxurious car -- what a joke!
they cant have an iPhone unlock the car as it will be using NFC technology which is locked down on an iPhone and can only be used by apple application whereas NFC on android is open meaning they can design an app to take advantage of thet
LAJ0312 Why would you want to use your phone to unlock it though. They made it keyless and easy over the years and now they are adding additional step. What is the point of unlocking with phone when you have key and keyless unlock ?

I love the interior fit, finish and looks especially the dashboard and instrument cluster (similar to the 3 series). Exterior is great too. Shame the new 7 series doesn't get similar interior redesign as the new X5 and 3 series.

When I had my E89 35i, I faced-off with a lady in a Punto on a very long, ancient single lane causeway leading to a castle offshore. I was lost but rather than backing up the 100 or so feet back to the mainland, I stared her down and soon she was backing up her Fiat all the way to the castle, probably about 500 feet or more. I followed her, keeping close and staring her down some more, until we reached the castle, where I smiled and blew her a kiss as I sauntered past her.
She did not look amused.

I love the way BMW has thought of the details like split tailgate (don't know why Mercedes has not followed suit), rear windows that go all the way down, parcel shelf that fits into the floor when not in use, and fabulous infotainment system. All little things that you really come to appreciate in daily use. Kudos to BMW for making the X5 genuinely user-friendly. The fact that sound insulation has improved along with the ride & handling just makes it the absolute complete & perfect SUV! For me, it might cause me to switch from MB back to BMW, depending on how good the new GLE turns out to be.
You have successfully damaged that luggage... good job!
I’d recommend the xDrive45e if you want to be as environmental friendly as possible, but you’d have to pay 8 grand extra. It’s worth it though if you wanna save the planet.

The split tailgate is not handy at all. All it gives you is back strain if you putting luggage inside the boot since you're standing further away from the very end of the boot

Not as good as the Honda CRV for leg and head room. They have taken some ideas from Honda and there not that reliable where Honda is. Just have to ask an AA recovery man and he will tell you.

It would be nice if you could review the car and not waste time showing us how you dont know how to put away the cover in the back or talking through the features like your going through the car spec check list..? This is no different from any other car review where they just talk through the car specifications. Gears and gasoline do a great job of reviewing cars, conveying emotion etc.
