stromo is one of the few if not the only journalist/interviewer that properly researches and studies his geusts which is why his interviews are so in depth and good.
George gives his guests an opportunity to express their methods and learning experiences attributed to their roles and we the audience to learn along. Very refreshing approach to interviews. We can see the "stars" intelligence instead of just listen to someone gush over superficial garbage.
Always respected curious George`s preparation of interviewing skills and his research on the person he is interviewing. Much respect for Tom Cruise. He`s one intense man.
tom cruise for some reason is such a polarizing star. people just want to hate him. I dont get it.. he is smart, stays young, seems full of energy, has a sense of humour. I don't give a crap about his personal life or his religion. thats not really our business. keep doing what you do Tom. Top Gun is an epic film.
@@TheGreatAlan75 It´s quite dumb to hate someone for this. They would have to hate every person who´s joined a religious organisation. But they don´t actually hate Tom Cruise, they hate everything that doesn´t fit their own ideology. And most likely they even hate themselves, because once you start hating everything and everyone your mind won´t stop.
People always want to hate those whos work is exceptional if they don't care to improve their own. They resent the standard he sets and achieves so they attack him on a personal level instead. As an actor he is excellent nothing anyone can say about him otherwise can dispute that.
Scientology is organized criminal behavior, not a "religion". It is one of the worst scams on this planet, a mixture between mafia, mind control, financial exploitation and totalitarianism.. and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Don't say "just like other religions". Watch Leah Remini's show and wake the f. up to what's actually happening. Forced abortions, broken up families, countless ruined lives, critics blackmailed and harassed in the most abusive ways imaginable. Tom Cruise is not just a misguided follower... he is near the very core of this persistent pestilence preying on the vulnerable. He could be the most amazing actor in the world and all this would still be unacceptable. Everybody made a fuss about Harvey Weinstein. Tom Cruise is in a sense much worse than that - his organisation damages lives on a much deeper level.
He is a great actor, I don`t care about his personal life and all the media dragging based on sensationalism and money making. I am glad that this interview is about his movie career and not personal things, great interview.
And out of all the interviews he did this week in T.O. on mtv Canada, Etalk, ET, I found yours to be the very best, although thats not surprising, since I enjoy your show more than the rest. Great Job, Great Interview!!!!
Say what you want about Tom Cruise, but he is a great actor. I appreciate the fact that he has always tested his range and not just gone for the role that people want and/or expect of him. I don't agree with Scientology at all, and I do think it's a crazy cult. But I think it's entirely possible that he's a victim of that cult as much as anyone else. I work in TV and anyone who has come into contact with Tom says he is the nicest celebrity they've ever met. So I like that about him.
Kino Cineasta i'd prefer you rest your fingers, What emotional defecate do you have that makes you go on youtube looking for conflict. I feel sorry for you Kino, It's not our fault your parents don't like you, you don't need to take it out on us.
jimmy2k4o What an amazing come back! You have no fundament to contrarest my opinion, not even in a subjective manner such as acting. Instead, you spit your cartoon network 1999's humour. Pathetic. Bring some chops into the conversation, ill give another chance, just like your teacher did when you were in 7th grade in Northern Alberta.
Always interested in his work and he has produced some truly excellent screen performances namely, for me, Interview with a Vampire (remarkable performance). Watched Oblivion today and it has much to offer but does fail on its over all story but the man delivers as one would expect from a true screen legend
Oh George I thoroughly enjoyed this interview, Thank you so much, you were def on top of your game. And I have to say out of all the episodes, all the people, all the interviews, all the hour s, this is the only interview where I found that at the end I liked the guest more than you. In recent yrs, I have not been a fan of Tom Cruise, thought he went a lil crazy, and just got sick of him always being in the public eye.
I didn't realize that Mimi Rogers is a Scientologist and, moreover, that she introduced him to Scientology..I'm glad Tom draws the line at what parts he'll do...Tom Cruise became the most successful movie star, of his generation...Bigger than Penn, Swayze, Lowe, Dillon and Bacon.
Have you ever seen Collateral? That was not a Villain - That was the Master of Villains. Villains are too one dimensional as they are written in Hollywood and he made Vincent a 1000 colors Serial killer. Amazing movie and performance
The best interviewer of all time George he is just outstanding he is he knows his craft so well and Tom Cruise is also very good actor, but George is awesome
Anyone know why TC never mentions his Ridley Scott film, Legend (1985)? It's TC's third best film, IMO. He wasn't the star - that would be Tim Curry's amazing portrayal of Satan (Darkness, whatever)- it's more of an ensemble piece with jaw-dropping production design, and special make-up effects. But it never seems acknowledged by Cruise, and also the media. It's a film I'd be honoured to work on.
Yes, The Color of Money and A Few Good Men are my 2 favorites, BUT, you are leaving out many of his great roles: Born on the 4th of July, Interview With a Vampire, The Firm, Rain Man, etc...
I didn't think he had a hard time answering questions. He was fine. Had a lot of good things to say and said them well. He's a nice guy who deserves the best.. Really, it's O.K. to not put people down sometimes. Mostly what you're doing by doing so is showing people what a jerk you are.
good job George for keeping him talking about making films and avoiding his usual spewing of scientology propaganda that I have come to despise. In the last decade Tom cruise has become more of a joke to me than an actor simply because he seems to always have a robotic a smile and tries to deliver the message that scientology is the answer to all lifes problems. Great job on keeping him on topic and not giving him yet another forum to preach.
You hated Tom Cruise because of a movie that you never saw? Sure he's cocky, and a whack-job, but he's so talented, and he played outstanding characters!
The mere fact Tom Cruise was interested in playing the role of Von Stauffenberg already impressed me no end. How many americans knew this historical figure existed before "Valkyrie"? Tom certainly knows how to select interesting characters to play. That has a lot to say for his intelligence. He is an achiever. And a lot of these people obsessed with his personal life are doubtless losers in life and can't wait to pick on some celebrity to kick around. Mob mentality. Shallow, pathetic people.

I always have to laugh about how people get so worked up over a celebrities personal life and not judge them as an actor or musician or whatever... we all have beliefs and religious views or whatever.. so why do we all hate Tom Cruise for having an opinion. The media brings it out of him in the first place. It's all media, I don't blame actors or whoever for all the shit we see in magazines and on tv. It's all about the media, blame them if you're sick of hearing about this stuff all the time.

What I really admire Tom Cruise for is his passionately love for movies. He honestly respects this art form.
