I have a Q actually. Why does it cost 211€? No offence or anything just trying to understand why does 50€ give or take screen (when you buy in bulk) + CNC cut Acrylic and some packaging boxes cost so much? I do understand that you have your time and costs BUT margins are just crazy especially knowing that my 27 inch G5 curved 144Hz screen costs 270€.... I want to buy it and it looks great but my intellect feels offended LOL. And it is not just you! Freaking GRID is selling 18 LEDs with control board for 100€+ (when we can buy same stuf for 20€ max) it is just ridiculous really....
@@atechcheck Good question, for starters, the price is actually € 177 + taxes for the 6.8" version. Since I do not get to keep the taxes, that's the amount I receive (before I pay taxes on the profit I'm left with). Apart from that, you would be amazed how quickly that “margin” is gone if you try to do this as a genuine long term business. Like you already said yourself, I’m not the only one and I believe I’m even one of the cheaper suppliers (unless you would compare me to the DIY sellers that use 3D printed stuff on Etsy, no offence to them but they just have less overhead). If you take everything into account: taxes (in my case 50% of my profit goes to taxes), packaging, materials, my own time (since I do everything myself: marketing, upkeep of my websites, assembling, shipping,..), the investment of my laser machines (about 40k), electric bill, shipping software, design software licenses, after sales (what if a screen breaks down?) etc etc, … you would see that from that “big margin” you claim I take, not that much is left. Those smaller sellers on Etsy that buy a 3D printer and ask that same question and undercut our prices get to that realisation at some point as well. The semi big sellers like GRID, I assume their products are not made In China (I think), so they have the extra labour costs (since there are more people working than just one at GRID) to add in that margin. I’m now at a point where I need to start thinking about hiring someone to help me a few days a week and even with that “big margin” I have to conclude that it’s getting a bit tight.. also know that I also deliver to resellers who depending on the quantity they order get up to 20% discount. At that point I’m basically selling “for free”, yet I do it to get my product out there as much as possible and see it as some form of marketing. I understand a customers point of view that does not directly take into account every single part there is into running a long term successful business, but I can assure you, there is a lot to take into account to make it profitable in the long run. Your comparison with your monitor that is mass produced in China is another typical example of not taking all those factors into account. A big factory in China is designed to keep that overhead as low as possible (almost free labour, buying materials in huge bulk, full automated production lines, massive turnover, …) I completely understand your point of view as a customer and I don’t take this the wrong way, I just hope you now understand a bit more why the prices are what they are.
I've been considering adding a dash to my setup, but I just couldn't find the right fit. However, after seeing that this dash comes with mounts specific to the wheelbase, uses simhub, and even has the option for LED lights, I think it checks all the boxes for me. If I decide to buy, I'll use your link. Thanks for bringing the attention to KGL.

I know, it dropped from my priority list since Moza did change their designs a few times on their "R" types bases too and they just don't reply when you ask questions about what their plan is. At this point I got lost on what mount might fit what wheelbase since I literally saw 3 iterations of 1 wheelbase in the past few months. As long as I can't get a decent view on where they are going with their bases and design choices, there is no point in making mounts for it since I might get customer complaints if it ends up not fitting their wheelbase. They probably ignore my questions since they have their own displays as well :-)
I have the DDU7 + LEDs on a 27 inch monitor (triple screen), and it sits well below the highest point of the “virtual” Dashboard of the car. I don’t even have it on the lowest setting on the magnetic mount. So it might depend on the setup, but on mine it is perfect
Glad you like it! Seeing how much you like it means a lot to me! I’m also here for any questions your viewers might have! 🏁
Is this compatible with the Moza R21? Would i need any additional add ons? Love the product and stuff you make by the way!

Love this 👌 is it able to exactly match the in game dashboard of all the different cars?

u deserve at least 100k subs!
My preference is the Grid ultra wide dash. Really great experience.
While it is nice, it is 3 times the cost of the DDU7 and LED Bar combined
Is this compatible with the moza R21 out of the box or would i need the adapter? Great vid dude!

1 year later, still no moza R16 / R21 support

Anyone using this on a Asetek wheelbase? Which mount is best?
sorry for the late reply, the specific Asetek mount will release somewhere this week
Too big unless it's a giant screen in my book. Actually, it's just the LEDs that is making it far too big
