I have an Xmax 300, and talking about the storage, if you have the Yamaha Comfort Seat installed (which is stock on European markets), the front part of the seat will only fit a half faced helmet, it will not fit a full faced helmet because of the Comfort Seats seat height (which is built too low for short riders). If you have the ordinary Xmax seats (which comes stock in Asian markets) Which the seat sits taller, you can fit 2 full faced helmets at the front and back part of the seat.

Talk about anti vespa. I ride a primavera 125. Its very stable economical top speed 65 mph. Not saying these bikes are no good, where was the Xevo? Price of the BMW, can by small car, dry, warm and Safer.
Thanks for this review! Most of the scoots are what I am interested in. Just not the sym. It seems like a cheap and old scooter. Also I don't know the brand so.. My pick would be the Yamaha for it's storage space and long ride capability. BMW looks really nice but the storage is not great and I don't like the helmet fits only while parking -feature. Beverly and GTS are great for city.
The Vespa should be as big as a scooter gets, otherwise it defeats the purpose of a scooter. The rest weigh a ton and you'd be better off with a light motorcycle. If you only buy these maxi scooters for their convenient twist and go transmissions, consider adding a quick shifter to a motorcycle and a good luggage rack. A low maintenance Moto Guzzi V7 would not only be lighter but a whole lot more fun, useful and rewarding to own. :)
Storage, superior comfort...no shifting in stop and go traffic, they are all under 400lbs and have very high mpg. The only reason to get a similar motorcycle would be personal bias no?
@Roger Rarebit fair call if it's becoming painful to mount and dismount. Glad to hear you're riding, that's the main thing. The Fuoco is a very clever design! :)
@@ge-8135 Don't get me wrong, I love scooters but getting into maxi size doesn't quite make same sense to me... Granted, storage is better only if a motorcycle isn't equipped with a luggage rack or panniers but comfort is subjective. You'll find that maxi scooters misalign your spine, legs out in front with all ones weight placed onto the pelvis (like a cruise style motorcycle) places extra stress on the vertebrae, as opposed to a neutral seating position on a standard motorcycle. Suspension is often longer in travel and more compliant with room for greater adjustments. This type of alignment with addition of foot pegs that are generally directly under the hips allows the rider to stand or lift their bottom off the seat easily when riding over potholes, bumps and rough surfaces without having to absorb the impact through the pelvic region. Smaller step through scooter frames with flat floor boards are just as good in that respect. True, no shifting in stop and start traffic is a nice convenience however some recent advances in automatic motorcycle transmissions makes this argument redundant (Honda's brilliant NC700X?) MPG... Hmmm... not really. There are plenty of sub 650cc motorcycles that are miserly fuel users. It's not uncommon to expect under 5 litres for smaller capacity motorcycles. I'm sure we all have personal biases when choosing transport, exploring all possibilities and experiencing each contraption with an open mind is the main thing.
I have a Vespa 300GTS... It has plenty of power, it handles the freeway reasonably well but reacts badly to side winds, you really do have to hang on! I like the BV but the seat is terrible!!
Greetings from greece. In fact, the cruisym is really popular here, a huge amount of scooters is etither beverly or cruisym. You are doing an excellent job, keep on in this way
You missed a great brand that is very popular and just as good as any of these. KYMCO..... The Kymco Downtown 350i could run circles round any of these. But you got the SYM (which is, as you said, new on the market) as opposed to what you said in the beginning that these are the most popular scooters?.... The mind boggles. The BMW is not popular, it's overpriced. It's just a bmw... The X-max at high speed develops an instability that should not be there. The Beverly is a great scooter for what it's designed to do. The Vespa... is a Vespa.... Fashion, but a good bike nonetheless. Why you tested a scooter on the motorway is in my opinion a pointless exercise. I still really like all your reviews.
because the motorway would be fast to test high speed if you want to travel in the city fine...but from town to town on faster roads then you would need to include faster riding roads.
Hi guys. Too bad you didn't include the Kymco Downtown 350i in the test. I have one and I wouldn't change it with the BMW C400GT (for example). The price / quality ratio is much higher than BMW, which requires too much money just to show the BMW logo! Downtown 350i has power (29 PS), just 195 kg weight, large storage space, perfectly comfortable saddle and a price ... extraordinary. In all tourist destinations, the workhorse for scooter rentals is ... Kymco; I'm wodering why?! I am a Romanian living in Germany (Stuttgart) and it is very popular here.
Knocking the Vespa for a single disc? Aren’t all the scooters single disc, except maybe the BMW? Other reviews of the GTS say the braking and ride are fine, even on the 12” tires. I’m sure the BMW is very nice, but it’s a pretty expensive.

Dude, I watch your reviews and enjoy them. But come on man, let your buddy with the specs and who test rode the bikes finish what he has to say. Stop cutting him off..
Couldn't agree more. Lack of Intel, HP, wheel size, tank capacity, fuel cons...etc
ADHD
You should have taken Piaggio BV 350 (338cc). BV 300S (278cc) is too short of engine for this comparison.
Yet they tested the sym which is only a 300?
@@Dwainpipe21 Sure. But Sym has a 400cc model (399cc) and piaggio does not reach more than 338cc
@@discoukudiscouku7916 so my point still stands then ?
Always VESPA !
Vespa is good, but it gets rust easily. specially when you live on salty grounds..
Piaggio x10 350.. Love it.
I m am 5'5" and I find the BV 350 fits me perfectly. I can even flat foot if I am wearing boots with a heel. Finally something made for people my size. LOL!
For me the.most acceleration and speedy bike and handling good is piaggio beverly
Honda Forza 300 would compete for the winner of this class.
Agree also I.M.O should have included Suzuki Burgman 400
beverly best scoters
Forza has less hp than the xmax.
The Forza is better in a lot of ways, it's cheaper, better features...but it looks like shit
@@marjanpendarovski1428 uncomfortable used one in rhodes greece
Talk about anti vespa. I ride a primavera 125. Its very stable economical top speed 65 mph.
Not saying these bikes are no good, where was the Xevo?
Price of the BMW, can by small car, dry, warm and Safer.
Xevo is not sold any more.
I own a cruisym 300 and its wind protection is fine. I'm 5'9.
You tall is not big.
I am 1.81 and protection is very good in the 2 scale of windshield!
9 cm is quite a big difference in a sitting position
Thks Guys.
I miss my scooter sometimes. Maybe will have one in the collection again
WHAT, NO SUZIKI BURGMAN?!
Vespa!! There is no Substitute.
Respect for a nice review. I only wpnder why you guys doesnt mention Xmax 300 Tech Max with heated grips and heated Seats.
You should have tested the Beverly 350, not the 300. It's the winner in every category. How do you guys run these tests?!?!
Bv 350 is on another level
Got a V7 Milano and it is a peach, not only if it is warm and the weather is nice. For going to work all year long nothing beats a scooter in cities.
Honda ADV 350 is king in this class of mid-size maxi scooters..
Thank you very very much!
great job guys! my favourite would be the x-max although the honda forza should be in such a review.
I have a Vespa 300GTS... It has plenty of power, it handles the freeway reasonably well but reacts badly to side winds, you really do have to hang on! I like the BV but the seat is terrible!!
This is an excellent review!
Yamaha is the clear winner!
Xmax 👍🏻
You have ridden all of these? Very cool. That sounds like a fun day.
because the motorway would be fast to test high speed if you want to travel in the city fine...but from town to town on faster roads then you would need to include faster riding roads.
For sure a highway test is important.
Compared to Yamaha sym & kymco are both junk
@@Sheepleton You no idea what you've talking about.
the only review that shows the c400 with top box...thanks!
Thanks for the nice Test. Could you test the real maxi Scooter? Yamaha T-max, Suzuki Burgman 650, the BMW 650, and the Kymco 550? 😀
Where are you from guys? Nice content!!!
Nice review GUYS
The Kymco wasn't available for test ride. In fact, I am not sure there's a proper Kymco importer in Romania.
Knocking the Vespa for a single disc? Aren’t all the scooters single disc, except maybe the BMW? Other reviews of the GTS say the braking and ride are fine, even on the 12” tires. I’m sure the BMW is very nice, but it’s a pretty expensive.
My 2019 Burgman 400 has dual disc on the front and single disc on rear. Gives excellent braking.
The vespa has atrocious brakes. I have one since years, so I know first hand.
Manufactured for BMW by Kymco of Taiwan which is a very experienced Scooter company. The Kymco "version" of this is an Xciting S 400i, so far as I can determine.
Vespa hpe 300 💪💪
Thank You So Much
I would love to get the c 400 GT but not available here in USA
It is available in the US, look at the BMW motorrad US website! Also a lot of the extra features are included in the base price on the US model.
I think you have understated the Piaggio 350 power especially when you compared it to your winner the Yamaha Vmax.
PIAGGIO maximum power 26KW @ 8250 rpm. Maximum Torque 32 Nm @ 6250rpm
BMW Maximum Power 25kw @ 7500rpm Maximum Torque 35nm @ 6000rpm
YAMAHA Maximum power20.6 kW @ 7,250 rpm. Maximum Torque29.0 Nm @ 5,750 rpm
Sym Maximum Power 17.2 kW @ 7500rpm Maximum Torque 24nm @ 5500rpm
Vespa Maximum Power 15.8 kW @ RPM 7500 Maximum Torque 22.30 Nm @ 5500rpm
Very good show
I enjoyed your review
And where is the Honda Forza 300?
Italjet dragster 200 ??
What about the Honda SH 300i? It’s the best by far.
d accord avec vous le Honda sh 300i est supérieur consommation 3.5l moteur performant plancher plat etc.... et tarif attractif
Kymco xciting 400i is mama for this class👍
BMW C400 line is manufactured for BMW by Kymco of Taiwan which is a very experienced Scooter company. The Kymco "version" of this is an Xciting S 400i, so far as I can determine.
The Vespa is what a Scoot should look like.
🤮
Thanks, guys. Great review. I have PCX 150 and a Beat 110 in Indonesia, but am considering an Xmax 300 in the U.S.A.. I'm curious if the Burgman 200 can handle the highway, also (because the 400 is over my price range.) Stick with Yamaha, right?
It's interesting that in America the Xmax is a bargain compared to the vespa.
haven't seen anything yet that makes me want to give up my 400 majesty.
NO KYMCO XCITING 300I? WHY? THAT IS ONE OF THE BEST BRAND!!!!
Where was sh300
only one looks like a scooter is the Vespa
Burgman 400 is best all around scooter. Better than any of the tested models on here.
Lacking the best of them here guys: Kawasaki J300
Great power to weight ratio
Great looks
Best comfort
Neatly priced
Sociaal Jessie really ?!?!?? Not enough space under seat to put helmet . You can not stretch your legs .... Purely not the best option
Depends on the height of the driver :)
I fit my Full face helmet and groceries without problems.
@@sociaaljessie5431 that is funny , because height of the rider has nothing to do with helmet size ;-) Even Kawasaki dealer told me when viewing J300 that it will not fit full face helmet. I have try to put my helmet on and ...... dealer was right ;-)
Artur S video proof coming along :)
@@sociaaljessie5431 I do not need any proof my love. I have seen it , I had test ride and most definitely Kawasaki is worst then Honda Forza or Yamaha Xmax. But ... everyone can have their own opinion.
In short. You get what you pay for......... Nice video with honest opinions. I have an XMax250 so am biased towards the Yammy.
Ya, ripped off.
The guy kept saying his pick was the BMW, and the other one kept saying “Yeah, but...”, Always looking for a reason to disregard it. I mean, if he had already made up his mind, why include it in the comparison. “The BMW is the winner, but also the Yamaha...”. OK...
This was very good! :-)
I own Xmax 2020 300 and NMax V2 2021 Yconnect and honestly I prefer NMax for city riding and Xmax for the highway now I did try BMW and it’s great but I would choose Xmax over it that’s why I got mine.
By the way Honda ADV 150 is great as well not sure why you didn’t include it on your review?
It’s my own opinion guys.
This was a mid sized scooter test
I like to have a scooter for in town. On the hiway it's my Harley. In town my Vespa does the trick. When your in the city you want small, quick, park anywhere, convenience. Honda metropolitan is great but hills can be a bear. If only they made it with a 150cc engine.
I have the SH150i, it's a great little scooter, reliable, light, economic, and can go 100 km/h two-up.
Kymco x citing 400 or Downtown 350
Considering the price there is only one winner.
Good work guys…….but must redo this test. Honda and the Burgmann are the great absentees
From the front , the SYM looks best !
It's really the best with its specs and price range though. But the guy said it looks oldies. hahaha. His eyeball angle is totally different.
I have a Tmax 530 and I'm very pleased with it.
can't find 'em in the U.S. !! I wish I could track one down!
manseated They do exist in the US. Check in Miami, FL. There’s a dozen for sale second hand.
