Nice video, and overview of some super fun 9s! I've spent so many months of my life at JT, that it was just fun (living in Seattle as I do) to revisit my old semi-local stomping grounds with you. Thanks!
This is like the best video style for me. All to the point, fairly detailed yet to the point. Great job guys. I did not even think of JTNP as a climbing destination and now I'm going to head there some day.
I agree with the Colorado crack debate... The approach is better than the climb, but it still should be climbed as you may love it and join the club of the majority of people who are wrong. Interesting that only cracks made it to your Top Nine. Great video, as usual!
An enjoyable vid, and several of these are on my own all time favorite list for short trad cracks. You might have narrowed the title, though - say best 5.9 cracks. SO many terrific others are slabs/face.
A lot of people do love it; it’s pretty much 4 stars in every book. I felt it a must to include it for that reason. I personally didn’t think it was that great. Just felt ok with nothing special about it- to me. I’m glad you enjoyed it!!
Sail away is fantastic!! But that’s 5.8 :/ the orphan was good too; but different strokes for different folks ya know. Next season we’ll do 5.8s and 5.10s

Glad you enjoyed it man!
Solid list and cool collection of sends all in one vid! Props to the leader!
Agree with her about Colorado Crack
Loving all the new videos! Hope to climb some of these next time I visit LA.
I really enjoyed this kind of video! I hope to check some of these places out one day! Great job!
This was a sick vid, loved the timelapses of all the routes, about to head out to J-Tree for the first time so this is super helpful! Thanks!!
Stoked you found it helpful!

Get after it!
Really? JT is known as a Winter climber's mecca.
Great list! I think half of the climbs are new to me and I'll def check them out on my next visit to JTree.
Get after it David!

Which 5.9 non-crack climbs do you think would make the tip? Maybe something in Outer Mongolia?
I don’t know how we neglected Sexy grandma. That one is always fun.
I really like Super Roof
How about Popular Mechanics, White Cliff of Dover
Considering it’s the same start as Ace of spades (in the video) I didn’t think it merited a spot :/

That’s solid advice, will consider it, what faces and slabs at 5.9 do you think would make the list?
I led colorado crack recently and enjoyed it, why don't people like it?

hmmm....
I like Sail Away and The Orphan more than any of these.
Sail away is fantastic!! But that’s 5.8 :/ the orphan was good too; but different strokes for different folks ya know. Next season we’ll do 5.8s and 5.10s
I think Sail Away is about as challenging as Pope's and Touch and Go. But it's JT, where ratings are kind of funny. Like the Exorcist used to be 5.9+.
Colorado Crack is not great, not even type-2 fun, maybe has some aesthetics because of location. But the others in the list are great!
Maybe We should petition a change to the guidebook star rating
I have no desire to do Colorado crack either
Colorado Crack is clean trash. Let that sink in 😆
