    Arrangement of the battle theme "Sixteen Bells" from Final Fantasy XVI.
    Composed by Masayoshi Soken, arranged by Sipi Ovaska.
    This track starts off sounding a lot like "Don't Be Afraid" from Final Fantasy VIII, but after the intro it shifts multiple times in mood and feel, only retaining the constant marching rythm (aside from the few 5/4 variations in the intro) The violin melodies sound almost like guitar riffs at times, and the track is very loud and aggressive. This was a lot of fun, despite being a bit repetitive at times.
    Transcribed by ear as I was arranging, so you can expect a mistake here or there :)

      The guy who did the music for this game was one of the people who worked alongside Nobuo Uematsu on FF8, so it's a pretty natural transition, as he learned directly from Nobou. That why this soundtrack is SO GOOD - it's very reminiscent of the older games, albeit with a full orchestra.

      @@pagus6616 just for accuracy purpose. Masayoshi may not be there yet when the original "Don't be afraid" was produced in FF8, but he sure did in FFXIV version of Don't be afraid.

    Everyone saying the beginning has strong FF8 vibes (which it does), but the middle part is basically the Eureka battle theme from FF14. I can never forget that song after spending so long in that gods forsaken place lol.
    Pretty cool how Soken has combined those two old FF tracks into something new for FF16.

    • @SipiOvaska
      @SipiOvaska  9 месяцев назад

      The intro has the same distinct chord progression and 5/4 rhythm as FF8's battle theme, but that's about it.
      Many FF16 OST tracks feel like they are stitched together from multiple distinct parts, just like this one. I'm all for it though, I think it's really cool that melodies from another track appear in unexpected places in another :)

      Thanks for the kind words! Soken & SE have probably more of both mixing talent and VST budget than me, so the overhyped sound must be a desired goal for them.
      In case you or anyone else is interested, this track is mostly Spitfire Symphonic Orchestra and Albion Iceni.
