The only reason I watched Lost in Space was because I had seen Angela Cartwright in The Sound of Music, and consequently, I developed a pretty substantial crush on her. I wrote her a fan letter in 1966, and she had hand-written a beautiful (her penmanship is like calligraphy), four-page response, on very nice personal stationery. She was a class act, and I became forever smitten.

Alright, as a 67 year old today, I too loved Lost in Space and had a crush on Angela. Back in Los Angeles where we lived, the studio or something said if you wanted to send a letter to your favorite cast member, here is the address. I actually did and several weeks later I got a 5x7 picture of Angela Cartwright in the mail and it was addressed to me...and she signed it.......I am pretty sure she really did sign it LOL! I had bragging rights at school...no others had a picture of her except me! Ah 1967.........those were the days huh?

I definitely had a crush on Angela Cartwright when I was growing up. She was always so beautiful, poised, and charming. When I see her now in this video, her beauty and charm still come through. She's obviously a very intelligent person as well, which explains why she was a very accomplished actress at such a young age and throughout her career. She will always be very special to me since she was a part of what was iconic on television, especially The Danny Thomas Show (she was so adorable and funny) and Lost in Space (her character, Penny, made the show relatable to me since she was closest to my age, the prettiest girl in the cast IMHO, and brought warmth to the family atmosphere aspect of the show). Her presence in any TV project or big screen movie (The Sound of Music is one of the biggest and best movies of all time) always brought class and professionalism.

Lost in Space was the beginning of my love affair with science fiction shows, Star Teek, & then Star Wars.
As a kid in grade school, part of my routine was to race home Monday to Friday, get a snack & watch Lost in Space at 3pm. Television was so new & it took me out of my painful childhood for one half an hour each afternoon. Guy Williams was also the lead character on Zorro. He was very handsome.
I was the tv generation then. Still love TV to this very day.
For years our first TV was a black & white set before we brought a color set for our living room. TV then was the center of my childhood.
I also watched Bonanza with my dad, a fond memory for me. On Bonanza the women never fared very well.
I don't remember watching The Danny Thomas Show.
I enjoyed watching this interview with Angela. Thank you for posting.

Angela is just a fantastic person on all counts. Love how she explains her view of space exploration in comparison of being a talented, beautiful actress that got to be part of all this on a well liked fantasy show that still gets large viewers that weren't even born yet when Lost in Space was on primtime. She is a realistic lady that makes everyone comfortable listening to her views and opinions when interviewed. To this day still occasionally watch Lost in Space on the well done MeTv Sci fi Saturday nights. Also love the second List in Space instrumental that starts with the 7 number countdown as it starts. Tha whole cast looks so cute and inspiring in that video opening the show. Angela seems to be a very unique, down to earth lady and like many enjoyed this interview.

I loved Lost in Space since I was 8 years old. 51 years later I still do. I still watch at least 1 episode per week. Seasons 2 and 3 can get a bit campy and the special effects a bit cheesy, but that's ok, it just makes me laugh and that is a good thing. The show always had a lot of heart and that is what it all boils down to in the end.

On certain words, like "show" and "set" she still sounds a little British. She has admitted to having a very heavy UK accent at the time she first landed the role of Linda on "Danny Thomas". That makes her portrayal of a loud, brash, LONG ISLAND/BROOKLYN kid all the more impressive. On her site she said that when she started playing Penny she was actually playing herself, and not acting

I was in love with both Penny and Judy at the time and the robot had such an impact on me. To me it was so much better than Star Trek, so much more relatable but I do think that the writers and show runners lost their way a bit. And I absolutely agree with Angela about how the nightly news has become a tool to influence the way the general public think on so many issues.

I remember, as a teen, (I'm the same age as Angela) they either did a new version of the Danny Thomas show, or a special....? I only remember, Angela/ Linda wanted to get her driver's license!!! I live in Connecticut, an hour from NYC!! I remember thinking, "No Way, wld. I ever want to drive - in NYC !!! 💗
And I remember Lost in Space, when the Dad was talking to the kids, & he wished they were back on earth, so the kids cld have a normal teen life, listening to rock n roll 🎶, & going out on dates...!!!! 💗💗💗

I threw my LIS lunchbox and thermos away in 1979. One of the few regrets I have in life. Angela Cartwright what a beautiful woman. Billy Mumy loved her too.

Over 30 years ago Me and my daughter was helping out some friends of ours who owned the
Dance studio that my daughter started at. Gloria was my daughter Tap teacher who was a
actress that has work for Deslou productions on radio and TV. We were cleaning out a storage that belong to Gloria Mother who was a agent before her passing. As we were going though hundreds of head shots I come across Ms Angela Cartwright head shots as a teen I think and had to tell my daughter that Ms Cartwright was my first TV Crush . I wish I have save A few of them now.

I grew up watching Lost in Space as a child the show at times scared the pants off me.
Her bio today says she's 70 years old in 2023. I wonder how many years ago this interview was done she still looks great.
I thought you was really cute then.

Interesting insight from someone who's been there from a ridiculously early age. I watched LIS as a kid. Looking back, I think the first season was exceptional, but it became less so after that IMO. But it was still entertaining! BTW, I love her sister!
