Thank you SO much for that little tip with the sticky tac! It's such a simple idea but super genius too! I was worried about how i was going to coat my charms (i'm using shrinky plastic for mine) without it getting everywhere/sticking to the surface. I'm new to using resin so this is a great tip!!
Another thing for anyone looking to sand the drips away, you should wear a mask because UV resin is toxic to breathe in! Good and cute video though :) Thanks for the tips
Hi! These are really cute! Whenever I try to glaze my pieces with uv resin, the resin pulls away from the edges and creates bare spots on the surface. Do you have any tips for this?
Hi! I've actually had the same issue in the past. It only seems to happen for me on certain type of clay which is weird. The only thing I can recommend is doing a second coat of resin. But even when doing this sometimes I would still be left with a few patches :( If you figure out a better way to fix the problem please let me know!
This is such a great video - super helpful! ☺️ I’ve been making clay pins recently and have been using mod-podge but the resin looks soooo much better and way more satisfying 😍 Cant wait to see more vids xo
Great video! Super helpful :) the link to the uv resin in the bio no longer takes you to an actual product though, what UV resin brands do you use as I’ve read reviews on some saying that they can smell or yellow badly x
Hi ! I love these pins so much they're way too cute ! I came here for the resin tips and then watched all your videos ahahah I have a question, when you use resin with a brush (which I to too cause I usually have to coast big pieces) how do you wash it off ? I find myself having a hard time taking it off any surface and especially brushes, they always stay tacky 🤨
Aw omg that’s so sweet haha thanks for watching my videos!! I tend to not use a brush! For my smaller items I usually use a toothpick. This can be annoying though cause toothpicks are very small but another wood or plastic item like a lolly pop stick or plastic knife could work! I couldn’t get resin out of my brushes either and just ruined them haha woops 😅
@@naomisspace8970 Aww thank you for the fast answer ! Ahah well I actually ruined brushes too so I guess I'm gonna try to use a plastic spoon or knife or whatever that is not fancy and can be condemned to resin 😂
Good question, I’m not sure I haven’t tried it yet. You could potentially seal the air dry clay with a coat mod podge first and then coat it with resin so that the resin doesn’t get absorbed. I’d say if you’re painting on the clay at all that should get soaked in enough for the resin to be fine. Let me know if you give it a go!
I’m just wondering did you use anything before you put on the resin, like after the paint(which I think is acrylic but I’m not sure) did you put anything over the acrylic paint ? To make sure it stays?
If it's a clear sunny day it usually takes them 30minutes to cure. I usually like to leave them a little longer though (sometimes up to 45mins) just to be sure!
Hi! On these particular pins I didn't but recently I've been doing one layer of UV resin to glaze the back of my pins. Think it hides the glue nicely and just makes it all look neater and more professional on the back :)
hii, i have the same uv light lol if you do use it (ie on cloudy days) how many times do you have to repress the button to make sure the resin is cured?
Well the resin normally takes 30 mins to cure so you have to press the button A LOT 🙃 I just ordered a new light that you can leave on without a timer so will see how that works!
@@naomisspace8970 yea i reckon 😂. I set up a timer and just press it constantly during that time. I looked up another lamp as well, but i need to sell this one first haha. I hope it goes well for you and thanks for replying me 😊😊

Hey! I make pins as well and tip! Elmers glue on the back for drips! It washes/peels right off
Ohhh interesting, going to have to look into that! Thanks!

Oh yes I maybe didn't mention in the video but absolutely wear a mask when sanding resin! Glad you liked the video! :D
Smart girl....great tips....the little grey cells are working overtime! Very cute pins, btw ☺
Haha thank you! Glad you liked the video ☺️

thank you for the video! I was saved and used a toothpick to apply the resin - it works perfectly!
Aw that’s so great! Haha yeah toothpicks changed my life 😂
Great tips! Thank you so much!

Aw thank you so much! I know something about UV resin just makes it looks like glass, love it! Yay
Naomi's Space It really does 😍😍 so lush! Xx
Such a nice video l just bought resin and l am clueless on how much l should leave and how to apply it
You’ll get a feel for it! It’ll prob take a couple of goes to get used to it but after a couple pins you’ll be sweet 😄 good luck!

Thank you so much this is so useful ❤

Naomi's Space my pleasure 💕
Can I use uv resin on air dry clay? Air dry clay is more porous than polymer clay. Will there be air bubbles? Thanks for the video

My uv light do same irritating ti.e out things
Hi there, I was just wondering how long you left these in the uv lamp for? 😊
Hi! I'd say about 20 minutes in my lamp but it depends on how strong the light from your lamp is! The stronger the UV the less time it will take :)
I’m just wondering did you use anything before you put on the resin, like after the paint(which I think is acrylic but I’m not sure) did you put anything over the acrylic paint ? To make sure it stays?
Yes it's acrylic paint. No I didn't as the resin is pretty tough stuff and protect the paint on it's own! :)
Will it work on air dry clay as well?
does it smell after the resin dried?
Great video- Thanks! How strong is your UV light? How many watts? Thanks in advance!
Gosh I've no idea sorry. I don't use that light anymore as it had an annoying 90second timer. I got a much better and strong one recently!
@@naomisspace8970 can you share with me, the brand and strength? Pretty please? 🙏 BTW.. the timer can be disabled by a good electronics guy 😉👍
Hello! I love this video. Did you paint these with acrylic paint?:)
Hi! Aw thanks so much! Yes I used acrylic paint ☺️
@@naomisspace8970 if i use gouache paint, can i use uv resin? and i dont have uv light how i glazed it?
What kind of clay do you use? Is it ok to use air dry clay for resin glaze?
I used sculpty polymer clay but you can use airdry clay too! Both are fine for resin :)
thanks! how long do you leave them in the sun?
If it's a clear sunny day it usually takes them 30minutes to cure. I usually like to leave them a little longer though (sometimes up to 45mins) just to be sure!
Cute 🥰! What kinda uv resin do you use ?
Oh gosh idk it was some Chinese brand I found on eBay 😅
Could you please tell me the name of the resin you use? The link doesn’t work
I have no idea what it’s called because the name is in Chinese 😅 sorry!
Hi. Do you glaze the back as well?

Is that seriously the view from your home??
These look amazing, such a cool idea! I was just wondering what glue you use to stick the pins on with? :)
I used Gorilla Super Glue! :)
Hi do you use mask when using resin? because I heard resin is toxic
Hi! Yes I wear a mask and keep my windows open when using resin! ☺️
Lmao cute charm
Thanks! Inspired by @theforestmori should go check them out too!
I will I laughed when you shinning brighter than ☀️
