i cant agree more. My love who I've had ever since I was 8 years old just died just 3 days ago, 2 months before my 20th birthday. Although it was a tragedy to see my best friend, sister, and child all-in-one take her last breath, her soul has transferred into another kitten to change another childs life forever. You never realize how much an animal has carried you through life without the use of words until you lose him/her
This is a sad story John!! My neighbors had the same thing but with a puppy. The puppy so small got to get himself on the bed - he never went before - and died with the kids.... at four months old, a darling, he was not vaccinated yet caught a damn sickness. He died next to the kids. That is my only little consolation. At least he was warm and with humans he loved. 😞
Oh man it hurts. I remember my sweet half-Burmese little baby girl Paulette, when my older boy kitty died she tried to comfort him, wrapping her little body made of pure soft-love around him. When that didn't work she came for me; she got under the covers and there were stayed until we could deal. Thank god for kitten antics because you can't keep a kitten down for long and they lift you up right along with them.
Cats can dream and unfortunately they can also have nightmares, one of my cats was sleeping heavily in my lap when she just suddenly jumped and if I hadn't had my hands on her she would have jumped very quickly with her head first into the wall. She was very scared afterwards and it took a long time for her to calm down again.
I've been adopted by a family of 3 semi-feral kittens. I and my neighbours managed to find them at a young age and fed them. One by one, we were able to stroke them and they have now moved in with me on my boat. I've had many cats during the years but these 3 know how lucky they are and are the most loving cats one could ever hope to meet. They will soon be 6 months old and they follow me around everywhere I go. I can only suggest to future cat owners that they try to keep 2 or more kittens of the same litter together. They play together and are much happier than a kitten on its own. If you can get one or more "feral" kittens to adopt you then you will be the luckiest person on earth. My little family is such a comfort to me even though having all three lying on top of me all night leads to my getting up in the morning with a bad back. ;-))
I adore cats and enjoyed your video.Apart from all traits you mentioned I want to add that they are very graceful because they walk on their toes and also know how to completely relax their whole body.Above all they are so entertaining I could watch them for hours.

So true, I had an amazing cockatiel who lived on top of his cage in a wooden play area, he would mimic me and when I fell asleep would climb down and squawk in my ear....he also loved certain TV adverts and would chirp loudly if his favourite came on.....lost him last Xmas day and it broke my heart.
Yes! They love structure and routine. Total creatures of habit. My cats used to be strays eating out of the garbage, and they looked so sad. Now since taking them in they are back through the cat flap every evening at 5, ready for their meal and for bed.
You've rationalized your beta status to your cat as 'oh it's just joking around' (secondary, I'm aware alpha theory is unproved but dominance isn't). There is no data to support your personal 'cat humor' theory. They just want attention which is gained through nevative outcomes for you. You're your cats entertainment. That's you self-accepted role and worth. It's a choice to either be more, or that. Your cat deserves better than a toy play-thing as an owner. Consider giving it away or letting it loose. It will adapt faster than you're capable of thinking.
Living in a warm climate, I used to go outside every night and sit down. My cat always joined me, and gained no food or treats, nothing but my company in return. Hard NOT to be moved!
A very important ability of cats that not many people are aware of - not even cat parents/guardians- is that their purring is healing! It relieves a lot of things related to our neurotransmitters and accompanying created hormones like serotonin. As a result people with anxiety disorders, depression and chronic pain will benefit tremendously from having a cat. PTSD sufferers and people with autism also seem to do better with cats than with dogs - so cat haters (usually people who never had one or never took the time to learn how a cat communicates. Save those attacked by cats of course) do well to get over their antipathy and adopt a kitty. This healing goes beyond the fact that anyone with a pet will improve or the psychological benefits of having a dog f.e. Cat guardians simply get a physical treatment beyond their hospital and beyond the mental impact of having a furbaby. I am actually part of the anecdotal evidence: my pain has diminished, I have less migraines and when my cat sleeps with me I no longer suffer from nightmares. I am also no longer bedridden 24/7. Hey, I'm not cured. I can get out and be very slightly active for 4 hrs a day, but that's more than I had. My brain and therefore my body was dying! Recent research has also shown that patients of heart disease get better faster after surgery than those with a dog. Dog owners recovered slightly faster than non pet owners to the expected "base line", whereas cat owners not only recovered much faster, but actually managed to get progressively better - meaning their surgery seemed to have had a better impact than what is normally expected. The heart healed *more*. Those with a cat also have a lower chance of getting heart problems in the first place!! If this is linked to their purring (which happens on a frequency that's linked to bone and tissue healing), like it is with nerve pain patients or rheumatism researchers don't know yet. For now it just IS. Oh...you also forgot that they're just freaking CUTE☺️.
Thanks a lot for this interesting and cute video. I want to add another aspect of cats: their humoristic behaviour. You only have to look at the numerous cat video s on RUclips to see what I mean. Cats are adorable creatures, and I love them.
I have a female bengal, 6 months old right now. She always steals straws out of cups, sits up with her legs wide open, climbs everything and ALWAYS WANTS TO CUDDLE and sleep on me... cats are forever my favorite species
I had a cat, his name was Rollo, he was my first official cat. I could be making spaghetti. When I made spaghetti, the last ingredient I would add was a can of sliced mushrooms. My spaghetti always smelled awesome, still does. The mix of the seasonings, beef, and tomatoes hung heavily in the air, in the house. I found out by accident that Rollo liked the juice in the can of mushrooms. When I opened the can of mushrooms, it could not be smelled because of the basil, oregano, and garlic that filled the air. Somehow, Rollo could tell when I opened a can of mushrooms; when it was opened and I was about to squeeze the mushroom juice into my cat's dish, he would be there waiting for it.
Not only that but the footage doesn't match what's being narrated. I've noticed this on other videos. Lazy editing seems to be common and I don't know why. :(
I typed this before watching, but the two I know best are the slow blink and when the cat has its tail straight up with a slight bend at the very top. Both mean the cat is very content. Purring is too obvious, everyone knows that one.☺
Cats know when their humans are sick and dying. Just as we are admonished to spend time and give affection to cats, they also give such affection to us when we are in distress. A head - sleeping cat is not an uncommon behavior. They will often sleep alongside your ill self.
