Featuring Brad Gerlach, Luke Egan, Matt Hoy, Richie Collins, Fabio Gouviea, Richard Schmidt, Chris Gallagher, Adam Replogle, Nate Acker, Anthony Ruffo, and more. The Year was 1990, this video set new standards in soundtrack, progression and style. Ecological and racial equality undertones mix with unique angles and editing for a surf video that broke new ground 30 years ago, and still goes where no surf videos go today. The animation of Tim Ward and Art Direction of Dave Parmley and Mick Yankaus and O'fX gave this video a unique visual look. The original soundtrack was released on I.R.S. I used to watch this so much here in brazil late 80s early 90s , luke and matt part is the best , also i learned a lot watching luke’s of the tops sequences... + first time i heard concrete blonde, a band that i became a fan all my life ... tks

Putz !! esse foi um tempo onde surfista brasileiro para se destacar no circuito mundial tinha que esta surfando muito, era puro perrengue correr um circuito completo, eu mesmo cheguei acreditar que nunca teriamos um campeão nundial , só com muita sorte ou ele viesse do espaço , para ter acesso ao um video de surf ja era uma tarefa ardua ! são uns herois !. bons tempos!!

Great job all said. One of the contests I want to see the most is the 1985 Spur Steakranch Surfabout when Wes Laine defeated Glen Winton; held during a ten to twelve foot Hawaiian -sized swell at Capetown, South Africa's " Outer Kom . " Been trying to find it for many years. Had the Australian and Yank mags at that time. Never able to see or get a copy. I would definitely purchase that.

@@RealSurfStories i went there 3 times, was known as Mexican pipeline, was amazing... glassy and perfect... there was a cantina on the beach with red snapper (huachinango) for $2.50, beer, torts, rice.... basically still a jungle... the japanese built a dam , around 76, and that changed it, i heard... would love to find the people that i was with back then.. lol
