In my Syracuse dynasty I was able to get a lot of 3 and 4 stars regular seasons and season 2 and 3 I got couple 3 and 4 star qb but lineman and lb for me was difficult to recruit and kept putting lb down to DE than I built a lot of depth I had to recruit a lot of rb in regular season with a spread offense haha . It will take time. Now 6 star program won 1 natty for in season I actually recruited 5-6 guys and I was able to get em but my prestige was from 3 star a lot of pipeline guys.
Hey Al, what are your thoughts on position changing your FS Issac Smith to Outside LB? He's 6'3 and 210 (bigger than your LB Mike Young) and faster with better strength than your outside LBs. Wouldn't he be a better fit for zone coverage and his size and strength benefit better in run stopping?
Read my reply on someone else with a similar question. Safeties normally don't translate well to LB in this game. I don't mind trying him there next offseason in Position Changes but I'm keeping my expectations low on that one.

Not sure how it works in 06 but would it be workable to move smith or waters from safety to outside linebacker? Both aren’t small or weak and could find some playtime
Normally safeties don't translate well to linebacker in this game, especially FS. It's an awareness and strength thing that keeps them from being good there. Besides, they're my two best safeties as you'll see why in the first game. I'll only consider moving one if recruitng OLB goes bad in the next cycle.
