I got the cv 10 vs, after your 1st video. It fits my needs very well. I have a friend who calls it a soup sucker 😊. She has borrowed it twice to store homemade soup in the freezer
I have had a Food Saver, got rid of it, got a vacuum sealer with my Sous Vide and although it started out promising after about a dozen times that too has disappointed me. I love the smaller version and will be buying me another food saver as they always say, third times a charm!
Well, That's definitely on my ASAP list. Which I'll be retiring my perfectly good Food Saver. Clearly for good reason. I think the CV10 is more versatile than the CV12, at least for my purposes. Not that I'll be vacuuming a 3ft fish anytime soon. What an awesome unit! Thanks, Mitch
Erg! Now I have a tough choice to make. We'll definitely be sealing a lot of salmon, so maybe the 10 makes more sense. I'll let you know which one we end up getting.
It sealed the sponge tightly, and stayed sealed, in spite of the moisture getting drawn to the top?? My inexpensive food saver sure won’t do that. I’m ready to use your code and buy a 10!! Thank you!
I think you mentioned you ere originally from the Philly area, me too. I spent just about half of my life in Delaware County, a Philly suburb. I owned an Exxon station next to the Philly airport for 14 years, 1980-1994, sold it and got out of the area.
Oh my gosh, you made me go dig out my tape measure! 🤣🤣 I don't really have the funds right now but I do truly despise my Foodsaver....cancel, try again...cancel, try again...ugh! If I can find the space for the smaller one, I might just have to pull the trigger. I'm so thrilled that others jumped in and bought theirs already! Great review video!
Space, the final frontier. We all may have to sacrifice livingroom space for a kitchen expansion. Maybe someday we'll be able to get a combo, all in one TV, DVR, air fryer, food vacuum unit. 😂
Just a note to all, if you got to seal outside of the chamber you have to get the right bags to do it with, the plain chamber bags will not work you must get the ones with those little riggers for lack of a better term,
I may have responded to another one of your videos about commercial vacuum sealers, so if I did, please pardon this comment- But I’ve got a neighbor down the street that has a restaurant grade or some sort of industrial Vacuum sealer and Man is that thing nice …he got it for cheap from a restaurant going out of business .. I don’t know what that thing retails for brand new , but man is it ever nice. At one time I was considering a vacuum sealer for when I give up ground meat, but honestly, I go through everything I would vacuum seal in less than a week so I don’t bother worrying about it
Great demo Mitch. I am going back and forth on the cv-12 vs cv-10. I do like the option of sealing from both inside the chamber and outside. I will sleep on it and probably make my decision in the morning.
Here's what i need...a nice butcher block piece of wood the same size as Mitch's countertop. Have it connected to nice, decorative cable that is attached to some mechanical device hidden in the ceiling, remote controlled, to lift it up or lower it. This is where I'd store all of my kitchen gadgets. And of course this magical device would have electrical outlets "somewhere" so they wpuld always be plugged in and ready for use as soon as you lower it. 😂
Hello Mitch really enjoyed all your videos. I am really interested in purchasing this product. Do you think a blind person can operate this unit? Can you do another review but this time blindfolded? Thanks for everything you do.
I juast figured out how to go on a month long vacation with only a carry-on....get obe of these and vacuum seal all of my clothes 😂😂 Of course, going home would be a problem.
That was awesome Mitch. Now i relly want one. The big one was way to pricey and a bit niche. The little one may just do all i need. Gotta check out the price first of course. 😅
I would think so. They didn't say anything about it being Limited to any particular country. If you do try to order one, please let me know if there was any unexpected problems with either receiving the discount or the shipping Arrangements. I would appreciate that thanks
I have a question on your sealer. Is the food (meat) still sealed like when put into the freezer. My regular (rather expensive) food sealer does great sealing until it defrosts then there’s air because the plastic isn’t still sealed (sucked down around the meat) there’s seem to be some air in the bag?
That's hard for me to say, because I've only had this new sealer for less than a month. What you're describing has happened to me infrequently, but everything in my freezer was sealed with my old food saver which did a good job most of the time, but not all of the time. I expect this new unit will do a more consistent job, but we'll have to see when the months go by. As far as the meat you already have Frozen, this small amount of air that may have gotten in shouldn't have caused any damage if you use it soon after you defrost it, in my opinion
🤣🤣🤣 We're going to start calling you the kitchen gadget guy. You're going to run out of room at this rate. Maybe you could do some kind of give-a-way game but the person you give it away to must pay shipping. Just an idea.
Thanks. All those people, like me, who have thrown away all those cheap POS sealers will take your wise advice. Again, thanks for taking your time to set all of us straight, share your wisdom and experience, and set us on a path to happiness, health, and wealth. LOL
@@OldGuyCarnivore Sorry just trying to help some people out who may not have the money to spend on all these gadgets. Pricey, but seems well worth the investment. Me, I want FEWER kitchen appliances. Seems like a proper air fryer and a good vacuum sealer are two must-haves.
@wendycarter5718 Have all that, including properly seasoned antique Wagner cast irons and French carbon pans, and a sous vide. But, I buy in quantity and vacuum sealing 40 pounds of meat makes sense to me.
The ONLY reviewer that I have seen that explains to put the bottom lip of the bag in the clip. Thank you for the review.
Congratulation on the new delivery! 👍

I like the analog pressure gauge, I'll be picking one of these up next month after I move.
Of course I will go through Mitch's link.

I agree completely. For the average person doing carnivore I think the cv-10 is a perfect solution.
Erg! Now I have a tough choice to make. We'll definitely be sealing a lot of salmon, so maybe the 10 makes more sense. I'll let you know which one we end up getting.
That's true, Jonathan. I like the fact that you can seal externally which will be great for fish

Is this a means to preserve meat without refrigeration?
No, not at all. It's a way to freeze meat that will remain as good as new for a year and a half or more in the freezer.
