This series aims to show the best vehicles to use in GTA Online in a racing situation. That is, around a regular circuit with a mix of corners and straights. The word "Fastest" means nothing without some context - these are the fastest vehicles around a circuit. How Lap Times Were Obtained Accurately
The best lap time a vehicle can achieve around a circuit determines how good it is and therefore its place within this list.
Each vehicle was taken around the same circuit multiple times, with the best lap time being recorded. For most vehicles this equates to 10 laps per vehicle, but can often be more to ensure the absolute best lap time has been achieved with the vehicle. There are some caveats to this kind of testing though which are worth explaining below.

So with that all being said, this video should be taken as a guideline. The testing is very accurate for this track and similar tracks when cars are driven close to the maximum. At the very least you should be able to use this testing help narrow your field of view for your own personal testing. I would always recommend testing a variety of cars yourself and take into account what kind of tracks you're racing on, what is better for you and your skill level, and even your budget. My testing is meant to guide you, not tell you exactly what to use in every situation.

NOTE: One thing I forgot to mention in the video is suspension. The Sultan RS Classic is exactly like the regular Sultan Classic in that is doesn't benefit from maximum suspension/camber. Like all the other Tuner DLC cars it will get a small traction bonus from the lowest suspension setting, but it ruins the handling. Stock-Middle suspension will work best, just like the car it's a straight copy of.

Calm down, we don't need to panic until they start balancing out other classes. Because as we all know, Rockstar will never edit an already released vehicle unless it affect shark card sales.

the rest is just changes to everything so the problem car isn't a problem anymore but it affects everything (like the downforce updates)
I love it. Being able to choose which car you want to use and still have a chance of winning is great. Plus I enjoy the small boost to variety in the tuner races.

Two tenths of a second isn't a big difference. Other 3 are very competitive against the this car. It's track dependent.
@@Kl0zi9999 I highly doubt any of the unreleased cars will be beating the Sultan, if the random tuners race is anything to go by. But knowing R* the final dripfeed vehicle will probably be a class breaking, must have vehicle.

@@chickenheart3612 Yeah. Neither did much in the random tuners race. The new coupe has the potential to topple the coupes class but the Cypher is probably near Tailgater S pace.
For anyone wondering, different bumper mods, etc. have a huge effect on this cars handling for whatever reason. I tried switching to a stock front bumper and suddenly my car was tailhappy on every corner. Switched back to street bumper and it gripped right back up. I also highly recommend street suspension. Anything lower and you get more tail happy, anything higher and handling is worse.
Can I ask You good man which spoiler and wheels are good for it? I can’t make a tight turn with it even with Track Wheels
@@emwu1988 I'm no man haha but sure. Wheels wont make a difference as this car has the new handling flag that makes sidewall irrelevant so I just use the tuner Rally wheels for my build. I also use the "Karin Extreme Wing" as it's the closest you can get to the real life rally car. Spoiler wont make a difference as long as its not stock it will do the same thing. Oh and make sure to have stock rear bumper on cause any other one will fuck with your handling I hear. I haven't tested that myself as I always use stock rear bumper anyways but def worth a shot.

The car feels great in tight corners, though when it comes to high speed cornering it's really tail happy.

On straights the Calico catches up to the Sultan tho it's top speed is lacking... Also the acceleration on the Sultan rs is not as good as the Calico and even tho it understeers like crazy I still can't beat my times on certain circuits using the Sultan, maybe it's a question of getting used to it idk
@@roaldcotta6925 understeer is much easier to handle than oversteer especially snap oversteer. But that’s why car enthusiasts like oversteer
I noticed with stock suspension the back end was going out a lot more than street suspension. Might just take some tinkering and preference to find the sweet spot.

@@christiancruzada - no, it wasn't. 22B, car Sultan RS Classic is based on, WAS NOT a homologation special. 22B WAS NOT a base for a rally car, Type Ra Was - and it wasn't widebody.
And both 22B and Type Ra were 4-seaters, just with 2 doors.

I must say rockstar (and broughys predictions) have been on point with this update! Sometimes granted the pursuit races are a little painful but if you’re a JDM guy you’ve got cars like the Calico, Vectre or Sultan RS Classic, Euro guys got the Comet S2 and Growler as well as another drip feed car, and Muscle guys got the 2 Dominators (absolutely love the ASP). However it should be worth mentioning that while the tuners class is balanced, the muscle class has become a one horse race essentially, sometimes a GTT can win or one of the old 3 top dogs but for the most part the ASP is easily the best. Great videos Broughy, keep it up!
Nah, muscles don't stand a chance. The Sultan being a jack of all trades, and also faster, will become the new Calico, considering how all the Tuner tracks are specially.
Also if it handles like the OG Sultan Classic, it's one of the easiest to drive in this DLC.
Tuners are screwed for the most part now imo, you may see Calicos leading for Pursuit races Sometimes, but other than that, Sultan RS is the goto by far.
Would've been cool if they brought some of the classics of JDM as well with an updated version. Blista Compact, Blista Kanjo, the Jester Classic, to mention a few... Same for euros. That Comet Retro would've been cool with an update as a Tuner version.

I really appreciate how you go into detail about every cars handling characteristics instead of simply showing the lap/laptime and saying that it's the fastest without giving any context. I'll probably switch from the Calico to the Sultan RS since I absolutely hate how the Calico understeers in most corners but I still like the traction that 4WD gives me.
Unless it's a non contact race the awd is a must. Any other drive just gets annihilated with a tiny nudge from all of the late breakers or those who don't know how to pass and take down everyone including themselves.
glad to see the tuners class doens't have just one catch all winner. four competitive cars out of the 15 released is pretty good variety wise
5 actually. In pursuit races where you hit higher speeds, drop the Vectre and add the Jester RR.
Six, if you add the ASP and a driver who's a perfectionist. That fucking horse refuses to stop riding the ass of anyone it's chasing.

for this car, similar to the Felzer, the correct setup is essential. For those who don't like it because it has too many snaps of oversteer. Try the 1st spoiler option and the Stock rear bumper. The difference in handling is immense.

I don’t really think Rockstar tests these on tracks… they might just tweak the design and some parameters and say “this will probably make the car faster” but when you put it on a track you get a worse time. Or they might use a different track, but I doubt they’re even testing it extensively honestly.
@@JoaoPedro-sb5sq it’s not hard to make a car faster really is it. Either keep everything else the same and just increase the power or downforce, or decrease a few things but increase others by more.
@@willjackson6522 if you look at the handling files, they did just that. The RS has more cornering grip (2.495 vs 2.485) and more power (0.453 vs 0.448) than the regular classic. It also has less power to the front wheels (30% vs 40%) compared to the regular classic. It has slightly higher drag tho (10.6 vs 10.4). In theory it should be faster, in that it will accelerate faster, have a slightly better top speed and will slightly corner better. But for some reason it’s not….
Maybe the difference is negligible with the fact that the regular classic and the RS classic are quite unstable over the bumps. I mean, we know that it’s faster top speed wise anyway (117.5 mph vs 116.4 mph).

Funnily enough, considering the Impreza GC8, the 22B (Sultan RS Classic) is actually slower than the normal WRX STi (Regular Sultan Classic), the 22B being a smidge bulkier, and mostly just a WRC homoligation special.
Also 2 doors vs 4 doors
yeah, the fastest GC8 variant is the WRX Type R non wide-body 2 door. But they’re just as rare as the 22B. Difference is, not many people know of them unless they watch initial D or live in Japan.

Same case as f80 m3 being faster than the m4, and CTS-V wagon faster than CTS-V Sedan

The Vectre's handling is pretty bad. I prefer the Sultan RS's handling over it. If you hit any bump in the Vectre, you'll understeer worse than the Calico.

For more casual players as I am I suggest to stick with calico. Because it has the best acceleration and as we do mistakes in race probably it's best options

Have we ever had a DLC which had cars so close on pace to each other in a class
Muscle before the Sabre Turbo Custom, Sports before the Pariah, Supers before the RE-7B, Coupes right now, before the Previon
@@Johnny362000 No - i mean cars that all came out TOGETHER in one DLC. But i guess we have never had a specific new class before. Massacro and Jester - but that was only 2x cars. With this we have 4x cars all very very close together all from same Update
im continuous preferring the jester rr, he's more consistent.
It's not common but I did just get thoroughly spanked by a Jester on like four courses in a row.
What suspension would you suggest on this one Broughy? Middle option just like the regular Sultan Classic?
And does having off-road wheels improve the response to bumps or does that flag they added a while ago finally work?

I'm still getting better lap times in the Calico than this new car on street races.
Not a fan of the oversteer on the rear as soon hit the acceleration and turn a smidge.
The Jester RR is the best all around Tuner imo. Best top speed and good lap time.
At 3:17 you can pause to see the Sultan RS Classic is actually slightly ahead of the original Sultan Classic. Broughy just really screwed up that last corner in the RS Classic.
The time loss on that last corner is pretty minimal. The regular Classic just handles it better. It's not as if this is the only lap I did. None of them were able to match the regular Classic's lap time.

@@broughy1322 Fair enough. I had a feeling the regular Classic would have better stability with the longer wheelbase. There's also a few sections in the lap where the original is ahead of the RS, so I'd say they're pretty much even. That said, thanks for getting the testing out so quickly, like always.
Almost all of the rockstar created tuner races barely have any long straights, so for tuner races the vectre is the best option
Glad we got pretty balanced class, wonder which of the top 4 is best for which of the tracks
Vectre is still best for most of the tracks for me. Sultan is faster than Calico on Business End I believe, and maybe on Country Pursuits because of the off-road shortcuts, but otherwise Vectre is still king because it is easier to handle (understeer instead of oversteer).
Thats the real drop feed, cars getting faster every week by some milliseconds...

Well that's why sensible people wait until they are all realised and then buy the fastest. And from the start when the DLC dropped, Broughy said this would be the one to watch out for.
If you bought the calico expecting it to be the fastest, when you know rockstar are still yet to drop 7 cars in the class, then there is no one to blame other than yourself.
I brought the Calico because its a Celica GT4, and it'll still be a GT4 when all the cars are released.
In all honesty it's a dense move to buy any of them when they will probably all get a turn as the prize ride at some point?
I think I'm gonna buy the Vectre anyway...this Sultan looks very twitchy.
ive been playing alot of forza horizon 4 and i tryed to go back to gta 5 and it just feels like such an old game now everything about it haha. my eyes have been spoiled by the 4k 120hrz on forza and mechanics of it all. but still mad props for how long gta has lasted cant wait for gta 6 its gonna be dam crazy and then some!!!

The test cars in the meet aren't fully upgraded and the test track is by no means an accurate representation for its performance

Growler - speed demon with low acceleration
Calico - acceleration monster with understeer issues
Vecter - grip beast with low top speed
Sultan RS Classic - balanced across all with half decent top speed
Great car! But it does oversteer at higher speeds and is very light so you basically ascend into heaven every time you get rammed by some dumbass. Just because of that I find it easier to use the vectre for street races and calico for pursuit races.

Problem I've found with the Sultan RS Classic is how horrendous it is on bumps. It's not a weight distributed car. This makes it inconsistent for me. Yes I get better good laps, but also get worse bad laps.
Practice a bunch.... Maybe it'll be different? To each their own

The RS has no Brakes and a back end that just won't stop hopping around. All you have to do is hit a bump and around goes the back end!
Same with all the cars in update all them a bump is there weakness
Does the suspension option (bought, not option in menu) matter, and does offroad tyres make difference over the others in this car, and Vectre?
The only street race I felt this thing was better than the other top cars was Beachfront Runner. It can compete on Up Your Alley and Home Street Home but I feel the Vectre is more consistent on those tracks.

What suspension set up is the best for this car? 'cause Im not seeing extreme camber on it at the lap time
On his list online it shows that it does not benefit from suspension modifications.
@@poo55555 Im not quite sure, in the previous suspension before extreme camber is where I get the fastest times, with extreme camber it is more stable but a bit slower, but where is that list?

For an awd car this car gets really squirrely when it hits a bump/sign/pole in pursuit races.
Most cars will lose traction but are easily saved but the sultan will flat out hit a 360. Luckily it has a fast accel but it's still annoying
Does this change depending on which suspension you choose?
Only slightly, I found the drift front bumper and low lip spoiler with no suspension actually minimised it clipping something or spinning out but only by the slightest amount
how about the suspension? do you need the lowest suspension with camber to have the best performance?

So is the Sultan RS classic faster and better at racing than the Sultan Classic? Bc I like to use the Sultan classic in stunt races that involve off road track portions
