    This Recipe brought Memories flooding back.
    My Mother was a wonderful Cook.
    Used to make all this for us.
    Store it in Airtight containers. Steel Dabba.
    Can this be made in Coconut Oil ?
    I have stopped using Refined Oil.
    Must make them n Store .

    Tried this yesterday and it turned out super tasty n crunchy. Its better to have such home made tea time snacks than those unhealthy store bought chips and all. Thank you for this recipe. Please keep uploading many more such recipes. Would prefer home made snacks for my son.
    Also some lunch box recipes for children for both breakfast and lunch if you could upload please.

    Hello mam...love all your recipes..I like the way you explain the recipes so very well...mam I have a problem please tell me where I went wrong....I follow yhe same method of preparing chakali but instead of butter I add hot oil ...rest the ingredients are same ...I don't understand where I went wrong all my chakalis became black while frying and soft .
    .please help me guide me what wrong I did

      I think the oil must have become very hot. You should fry over medium heat

    Namaste Geeta ji i like this murruku.i will try this for diwali but i hv dought that more oil is not consume while frying,nd won't became soft.cause i use to make chakli at diwali time but most often it use to be oily or costume more oil while frying,or it would be spread in oil.i m very disappoint for this nd not doing in house.but my children like spices diwali faral not sweet.hope this murruku come well frm me like how u do.so neat.thanku for this recipe nd it looks easy also.wishing u nd ur family Happy Dipawali . with lots of happiness and prosperity in your life.

    What do you.mean by roasted gram .is it mean normal gram dal or do we have to take normal bhuna hua market wala split chana which we eat with gud chana. There's a confusion

      Normally we add urad dal powder. Dry roast the urad dal. Powder and sieve it

    Murukku always was kai murukkiu, the other being mullumurukkiu (also called manamkombu)
