- 1996 3988 Bayliner, Loop boat for sale by owner. Walk through video Clean two owner Fresh water boat, why is it still on the market, super clean boat for sale. Very clean boat engine.
A really nice older boat and I was surprised with the tub.
Very nice boat
The boat looks to be in great shape .... Most bayliners don't look that good when they reach that age .
Its what we call "One too many drinks at the Boat Show"
Sorry to bring it but there are no bedrooms, kitchens or bathrooms on a boats!
Nice!
How many hours on the engines?
About 1225
You need to give more info on engines, eno?? What brand are they? Parts?
I have an unknown engine in my boat and parts are a big issue .
Small Bayliners are cheap crap boats. We’re these made in same factory or made for bay liner by somebody else ? Important information needed.
Is this listed somewhere?
Cheers Warren
I did my own research , bayliner stopped making cruisers 10 yrs ago , Brunswick the new owner since 2007? Though ‘Searays’ were a better selling brand.
Factory support for bayliner?
‘Hino’ marine engines in this boat the biggest they made 310T
Only one dealer with parts, probably good engines and parts supply ?
Are these Japanese( good) engines still used in boats sold in usa?
It’s the first time I’ve come across that brand name in marine use.
If I’m spending real money I don’t want to be stuck with a ‘BMW/mercruiser’ diesel with no parts.
An american made boat is a good buy as parts will be mainly U.S. sourced so replacement available.
But in small boat market Bayliners are the credit card purchases. Fun in sun get something else next year boats. Not a brand I want to be associated with or feel will hold its value .
Brunswick seem to ruin every brand they buy out another reason not to want this boat .
FYI not sure I believe your fuel use values on these big engines , I’d want to see some real numbers.
Cheers Warren
More research and Hino were basically specially marinized by ‘US Marine from industrial engines . Hino is the truck division of Toyota.
Engines no longer sold in Mari e versions for at least 10 yrs
The marinizing parts are what can become hard to get , don’t know currently what situation is , only one usa source.
Heard they are great engines …..
Im not getting a boat with them with out a good discount and a visit to parts supplier . Engine are everything in a older motorboat and unless you get the warm and fuzzies walk away , lots more boats out there.
Still more research Re the exhaust manifold on the 4 and 6 cyl Hino maranized parts
‘the diesel inboards were marinized 4 & 6 cylinder Hino truck engines from Japan. While the Hino base engines were quite robust, the marinizing scheme that utilized a cast aluminum exhaust manifold with an incorporated heat exchanger proved to be disastrous.
manicooler-exploded-view
The “Manicoolers” as they were called, quickly pitted and breached from the combination of erosion, cavitation, and galvanic corrosion, flooding the engines with coolant’
These manifold are available. At about $13500 for the assembly for either engine. They may have resolved this issues with the engines but either way you are looking at a hefty repair bill you need to do before you have a problem with a boat you have no history with
Another reason why this boat might not be selling !
Being a freshwater boat may be what saved these engines!
Nice
Is it a v drive?
Straight drives
This would be perfect for Kathy and I, If only our house in San Diego would sell!
Well that would be nice 👍🏻
Want to buy a house in San Diego...lol
How much?
$95k
@@84jamespnow I know why it's still on the Market.. that's too much money for an old Bayliner...
Where you located ?
Saint Pete, Florida. Let me know if you want to see it
Needs to stay at the lake.
Get all your junk out of it dood
Too bad it’s a Bayliner ....
If your going to do a video… “ Do your research “ either give too much info or not enough… you choose the latter… 😤🧐… But give me a commission 🤪
Take it from me. Flybridge boats are hard on an old Airborne Soldiers knees.
Its still on the market because its a Bayliner!! Anyone that knows anything about boats knows 😂
