Only in the 1800s did they start moving into the interiors of continental Africa leading up to the Scramble for Africa in 1885-88. When chattel slavery in the American colonies were ending, European colonization of Africa and Asia was beginning!
I am delighted to see African countries and peoples really starting to assert their independence from Western exploitation, subversion and oppression. I know they have tried before and been defeated by Western subversion and aggression, as well as internal divisions, but the time is ripe for the people of Africa (and other oppressed countries around the world) to reap the benefits of their lands' bounty. Yes, they need resources themselves and they conduct themselves to have a collobarative relationship where both party will benefit. Look what China had don't to many infrastructure in various African countries very low interest loan in just 2 decades. But the European/AMerican have been in Africa for centuries with NO changes except to fuel poverty/chaos/instability/stealing resources, etc.

The people of the Africa have been divided and ruled over by outsiders for centuries. Tribalism makes it easy to divide people, then keep them poor under the "kind foot" of exploitation. In the era of empires, first Rome/Constantinople in North Africa, then during the era of Western imperialism the seat of POWER playing these games changed to the USA/Europe, then after the 1950's as European colonialism's power decreased, Africa was the playground during the Cold War. Once the dividers had reached peak power for themselves, by simply drawing lines on the map without asking any of those affected (Congo Conference/1884) the own systems of gain could siphon off wealth like a giant vacuum cleaner. The intention was simply to avoid unity in Africa, in order to _rule over the dissent_ which is classical divide-and-rule. During the Cold War, Moscow took on the role of arming the resistance to the colonial dividers. Today, all African dissenters fighting against unity, including some of Africa's own greedy corrupt leaders, are ALL tools. Endless wars, constant dissent.

@@TheBantuIsraelite The war is NOT over language, that is unfortunately exactly what Paul Biya wants people to believe. We have a different culture, education and law systems.
Our society has a different system. The two states join for a federation with an agreement not to dissolve the federation because Ambazonia would be a minority representation if joined together into one country. They violated that agreement and wrote a new constitution that violated all those agreements. Our leaders who resisted were exiled, killed, corrupted or disappeared.
Our fight for independence is to be recognized as state, as it was before the federation of the two states.

I've said it for years. My people need to form the W.A.E, West African Empire. One army, one currency, backed by our resources. We had great empires before, and we can do it again. Outside influence and tribalism has been our only issue. Although Chad isn't technically West Africa, we have similar cultures and I stand with them.
