    We’re Americans currently in China. We first visited Beijing for six days last December on the 144 visa-free transit scheme, and we were so impressed with the country that we flew to Vietnam and applied for our 10-year multiple-entry tourist visas. We’ve been back in China for a month now, and our experiences have been incredible and eye-opening. We wish more people would experience the country for themselves. ❤

    Instead of arming Taiwan, Ukraine and Israel; US tax payer money should be spent on infrastructure, healthcare, education, homelessness etc.

      Why waste US taxpayers on the taxpayers? the purpose of tax is to collect from the people as payment to the government for allowing them to live, work, and survive on daily basis. The tax collected is better spent on advancing the cause of the empire and for the enrichment of the ruling class, who will ocassionally give some crumbs money to the paid and prostituting politicians they own. The taxpayers come and go. The can easily be replaced. Why waste money on them when their usefulness is finished :)

    I’m a high school teacher and my fiancé is Chinese. I worked for a Beijing based education company for five years. China is near and dear to my heart. So, when I hear my students make discriminatory remarks about China, I call them out.
    I can’t begin to list the various nonsense absurdities that American youth believe about China. Here’s one I’ve heard: “If you post a photo of Xi Jin Ping as Winnie The Pooh, you get executed.” Yeah.
    Anyways, the most annoying form is Sinophobia I’ve encountered as a high school English teacher isn’t only engaged in by students, but also teachers. It centers around a Springtime component of 11th grade English- the required reading of George Orwell’s 1984.
    If I had a nickel for every time both students as well as my colleagues made a bogus comparison between modern China and the superstate of Oceania, I wouldn’t have to keep trying to teach these kids that Orwell was a fanatical anti-communist sex pest that was unconsciously writing with crystalline critique about the country he lived in rather than the Soviet Union he fantasized about.

    Wages in China might be lower, but the cost of living is also lower -- much lower. A few days ago I watched a video of an American expat living in Shanghai, renting an apartment that looks more like a posh penthouse. What's her rent? ~1,200 USD a month. And keep in mind Shanghai is one of the most expensive cities in China. Saw another video from a guy living in one of the suburbs paying around ~500 USD/month, but he still has all the necessities along with some luxuries like an appliance that's both a washing machine and a dryer.

      The conception of China's low wages is just a myth, it's really the currency exchange rates making China's RMB worth less than some countries' currencies. The amount of time of work to buy a restaurant meal in China is about the same as that in some countries such as USA.

    I went to LA for concert & stayed up the road from the venue in Hollywood. Walked around, took it all in. Went down Hollywood Blvd etc. Saw Rodeo Dve, big deal. There were probably 20 tents on the 5 min walk to the concert venue. Homeless people all over the place. Every street you went down, more tents. Drugged out people everywhere. Filthy streets. Didn't feel safe anywhere. Couldn't wait to get back to my home country.

    • @Marvee78
      @Marvee78 4 дня назад +5

      It's because homeownership in China is different. The Chinese state owns 100% of the land. The dwelling or home on that land can belong to a homeowner, and as a homeowner you lease the land your house is on from the state on a 70 years basis. After 70 years the lease rights for the land reverts back to the state. So no property tax for the homeowner since the homeowner doesn't own the property. This is a very simplified explanation, but from what I've heard from foreign bloggers living in China this is what I've understood.

    China's industrialization is a miracle in human history. The total output value of China's manufacturing industry accounts for 35% of the global total, which is equivalent to the sum of the next nine countries including the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, etc. For example, in 2023, the delivery volume of China's civilian drones reached 3.17 million units, accounting for 80% of the global total, and the annual production capacity of civilian drones can reach 10 million units. Conservatively estimated, in times of war, we can produce 100,000 units per day. Remember, it's per day. China ranks first in the world in various fields such as robots, humanoid robots, automobiles, new - energy vehicles, ships, high - speed railways, home appliances, optical fibers, 5G, chips, machinery, photovoltaics, wind power generation, heavy machinery, mining machinery, etc. in 2025, the number of Chinese college graduates will be 12.22 million, among which 7.3 million are science and engineering students. China sincerely hopes to see developing countries around the world focus on domestic livelihood issues, alleviate poverty, develop the economy, and ensure that their people have enough to eat, warm clothes to wear, and a place to live. We all share the same planet and the same dream. Just use some common sense. If China were really as evil as the West claims, given that in 2024, the number of Chinese outbound tourists was 130 million and the number of inbound tourists was 150 million, wouldn't these people run away? And would those people come back? If China really didn't protect its children, could it achieve such accomplishments in education, economy, science and technology, etc.? My friend, pick up your visa and come to China to see for yourself. Besides, if you really don't have the time, you can download the app Xiaohongshu to see the real China. Tens of millions of TikTok users from the United States and around the world have already come to see China.
