- I show so much of my #comicbook hunting and #comic #buying, I thought during this downtime, i'd show my #comicbookcollection one #shortbox at time. This one is a special one to start with. Any longterm #collector has at one point utilized the #costco #babywipes box that is about the same dimensions as your regular shortbox. A lot of these #comicpickups were #local from #presidiocomics and #fantasycomics. #Links are below.

Seeing you store all those keys in a baby wipes box made me laugh. :)
It’s not the box, it’s what’s inside. lol. It’s my transition box until they find their home in the correct short box or long box. I talked to a shop once who told me when they saw books come in the old Costco wipes or diaper box. They knew they had some bangers lol
I have comics going back to 1968, while most of mine aren’t bagged and boarded , it’s not why I bought them, I bought them to enjoy them, I haven’t bought in years, it’s no longer enjoyable, Marvel and DC no longer make comics worth reading, it’s endless events, ridiculous fights against gods that mortals should be able to defeat, and endless “ deaths” and not deaths, it’s just sad
I get it. I never been that precious with the grade or quality of the books I have. I bought them for the love and passion of the hobby. And as a gatekeeper for these books. It’s not so much having this first appearance in a 9.8. It’s the fact that I have a first appearance of something that means a lot to me no matter the condition. But I do like the idea of at this point or even graded. Because one day they will be in my children’s if they decide not to keep them they’re set up for easy transition.
But I totally get where you’re coming from
