    Im curious. If I wanna make this as a hot pad, dishcloth, or placemat, what edging stitch would you recommend to make a border edge on it to help keep the curl away?

      I would do a reverse stitch edging as i think it is one of the best anti-curling stitches as well as complements the simple stitch really well and this sort of looks like the simple stitch.

    Don't see how the pattern doesn't narrow out into a gathered triangle .
    I need to watch this again .

    It's interesting, so this is used primarily for making thicker fabric? I look at it and it looks just about like all simple even though it isn't. I'll have to make a swatch and see how it feels. Thank you again for another interesting tutorial. it seems "running" stitch may make the work go a bit faster... is that the intention or the result? ty :)

      You're welcome! It does make the work go faster and it's more dense. Great for wash cloths and hot pads.
