As I am watching this I am thinking I will try and use some of my pineapple guava shrubs for bonsai. They have beautiful evergreen leaves with a silver underside and they blossom and fruit (which taste great)!

The take a way from Dennis garden is the degree of patients he has imparted into his trees to get to a final bonsai pot. Thanks for sharing Ben !

That cutleaf birch is called Ornäs Björk in Sweden. The cultivar is from Ornäs in Sweden. Kind of common as a planted park tree. Im waiting for the right one to transform into a bonsai!

Love your stuff bro. I'm brand new, got into this Nov of 2020 and started with a juniper, Chinese elm and a grafted ficus. Since then I've grown a dozen dawn Redwoods from seed, 30+ desert rose from seed, bought another 25+ trees, cuttings etc etc. Learn something new everyday and had I discovered this younger I'd have become a botanist. Found your video on thickening trunks and try to watch all your stuff. I'm in NYC, weather isn't very ideal for growth but try to make up with spider farmer lights.
