I just watched Bwipo play Ornn into Rengar (how to play against Rengar Top) and was wondering how this matchup is remotely playable for Riven. Then this video pops up.
Haven’t watched the video yet but I was watching the stream from makkro0’s prospective and he built heartsteel cuz he’s trying to climb with it even tho it’s much worse than just going radiant
Hey Alois I wanted to ask you a question. Why do you always seem to be building hydra first item? Is it not better in cases like this one (against ornn) or other tanks like malph, sion, etc to build black cleaver first? Is it a personal choice or why is it better? I am learning how to play riven and I'm curious because there are lots of otps each one with different build paths
I assume it's because you could roam more and proxy waves. Usually against sion you would want to build Hydra to clear the waves faster so he doesn't crash into tower. For Ornn he is going to scale no matter what so the best option is to crash the wave under tower then proxy or roam into the enemies jungle.
Even if you go BC it's not guaranteed you will get kills and BC is really slow tempo cuz you have no wave clear. Hydra accelarates your gameplay because you one shot everything, get gold that way and snowball You see his cs this game, it's not possible with any other item but hydra
Makkro do be pretty cool, if I do say so myself. Also if you’re looking to do another unranked to master educational sometime in the future l I’d love to see one with Poppy, she’s a pretty pog champ :D
don't worry about being silent while focusing, I enjoy watching the gameplay as much as the commentary (plus the rage screams hurt my ears, so I'm very happy without those)
@@shinji136 Yeah but he can never trade back at anypoint. You see the way Markoo is spacing. Sure when he get sunfire he's not dying fast but riven never has to trade the Ornn. It's an auto loss matchup tanks are in a sad state.

He doesn't have to win lane, he does his job without having to be ahead or even needing gold or levels. Saying tanks are in a sad state is delusional. There isn't a single high elo player who says anything like that, and most of them actually complain about how much benefit tanks get for so little effort compared to other classes.
