Well, at least one of the key solos. He plays his share of them, and Cesar gets one too. Hidalgo is a beautifully lyrical soloist - I dearly love all of his solos. It seems Derek is a fan too.
Wow, is the predominant comment for good reason. Derek, Susan, David and Caesar were locked in and clearly having a great time - as well as everyone else on stage. The result? Wow!
Pure class .... WAR really deserve greater recognition for their sound/contribution etc,as do others of that era. Not mainstream, but pure quality....which brings us here. Great version 👌
It's just awesome to watch and listen to exceptionally creative artists express themselves. Hidalgo and Trucks have pretty different playing styles - yet play off one another beautifully. And David Hidalgo ... I could listen to him play all day long (and would never hear the same, beautifully lyrical phrasing twice).
David Hidalgo is a criminally underrated guitarist. More soul in his pinky than most of the so called best guitarists *cough *Joe Bonamossa* cough*... In the world.
BTW Los Lobos recorded this on their last album Native Sons, a bunch of terrific Covers honoring LLs influences namely LA artists. Among them Jamaica Say You Will, Bluebird/For What it's Worth.. all with a LL spin. Check it out.
This sounds remarkably like Black Napkins. I am now back in 1988 hearing this at the 17 concerts I attended the Broadway the Hardway tour. It was the greatest Big Band sound Frank Zappa did.
The sad part is there are ghettos; the beautiful part is nobody thinks they're a necessary evil and we just gotta figure a way of taxing the ultra wealthy proportionally there's enough wealth in the world to correct the course of mankind ... just can't wait on anybody's religion ...
I love the big man so much. Good god the talent on that stage is staggering.
Derek is so kind and respectful on stage and off. He lets David Hildago take all the guitar leads on this classic War tune. Love it!

David Hidalgo wringing some deep soul from that Les Paul Black Beauty. This is fantastic.
David Hidalgo's tone here is freaking amazing!

such a good guitar solo from david, hits all the right notes, and the phrasing, perfect
WAR is one of the best bands to ever happen in this Country. Nice job!
Absolutely.
War was the kind of collaboration we need today
The world is STILL a getto
I was fortunate to be able to see them twice with the original lineup. Absolutely one of the best bands ever.
Hugh fan of War & Derek Truck, thought it was a nice job...
Pure class .... WAR really deserve greater recognition for their sound/contribution etc,as do others of that era. Not mainstream, but pure quality....which brings us here. Great version 👌
Totally agree on all points. Thanks.

Groovy is the one word that comes to mind.
Hey, that's Los Lobos guy, I love that guy, fantastic.
The Lobos and TTB.....does it get any better!!!!!
LA song to the Bone💯
Yes to WOW.
All those Fender guitar amps.
Derek is the consummate musician, as good as he is there's room for the rest of the band.
This is truer today that when it was released. This songs speaks to our consciences.
Cool version, had to come back and listen again.
Always been a Derek fan.
David Hidalgo is a criminally underrated guitarist. More soul in his pinky than most of the so called best guitarists *cough *Joe Bonamossa* cough*... In the world.
That is true the world is a ghetto have to fix the homeless problem great work guys be safe
Fan of both bands this is most excellent. I have always said Susan and Derek are amazing they just need somebody to write for them .
Best version since the original!
Brought a tear to my eye. Damn that was tasty!
TT/Los Lobos , doesn't get much better 👍🇺🇸
As if there were any doubt, this helps solidify TTB as the coolest band in the land

Those last two minutes could’ve gone on and on and….Love to see the TTB / Lobos double bill!
Los Lobos still got it.
❤
The war is upon up. Fight!
Damn Skippy! ❤
Great!
The only thing missing in this is Derek not taking a little lead in the middle
👍👍👍👍👍✌️✌️✌️✌️

Derek smiled at 4:04.
