Vocally Patrice sounds just as good as she did with Forget Me Nots number 2 and 4 R&B and Disco hit recorded in 1982 . What a great musician she is. This band is so cool.
In the summer of 1984, I was stationed in South Korea. Back then, there weren’t satellites for cell phones or smart phones. Either you had a record or tape player, or FM radio. There was a group of black soldiers I kicked it with, and this track was played a lot. So was “Feel For You” by Chaka Kahn. I remember how popular the “Purple Rain” movie soundtrack was, too.
Man, whenever I hear those mid-‘80s songs, especially when I was in the Army between 1984 to ‘87, they take me back. When I got back to the States in May, 1985, songs like “We Built This City”, “Money For Nothing”, “Take On Me”, “Glory Days” were hitting the charts. But truth be told, I’m a ‘70s rock & roller with an Epiphone SG electric. Just for fun. Recently, I’ve been experimenting with a whammy bar, distortion, flanger to learn the long version to “Morning Dew” by Nazareth.
Wonderful!!!
