She's totally still feeling that amazement of "they know me and they get this - one of MY songs"... and the crowd is totally there for it. True 2-way appreciation! Looks like she has her own version of the VibeTribe!
YES! Definition of a performer! I'm beyond tired of this song but I still watch this performance at least once a month, the energy is just like nothing else ❤️
Wxcerpt from interview of her....While there was a lot of love for Tones on the streets, it wasn’t always easy dealing with the crowds. She wrote Dance Monkey after one particularly bad six-hour street performing stint. As Tones explains: “One person ran past and stole my money. Someone else lent over and tried to play my keyboard. The whole crowd was drunk and rowdy. I said ‘Sorry this is it now.’ They started booing me. I was so frustrated. It showed me how people didn’t have any patience anymore. Replace the word ‘dance’ with ‘sing’, and that sums it up.”
Splendour In The Grass is an Australian music festival held in Yelgun, New South Wales, but has also been held in Queensland. Toni Watson - better known by her stage name, Tones and I, is an Australian singer, songwriter, and record producer, and has won 4 ARIA awards (which are the Australian equivalent of a Grammy)
You should check out her songs The Kids are Coming, Johnny Run Away, Never Seen The Rain, and Bad Child. She did an amazing live performance of Bad Child on Jimmy Fallon while Australia was in lockdown. It was just her and a keyboard. Super raw and powerful.

That crowd was fully invested in her performance! And you're right, it was like a breath of fresh air to see everyone so carefree and happy.
