    Thanks so much! Super helpful. I also appreciate you guys addressing the fact that certain industries may just NOT have the budget during covid especially because they operate on pretty small margins. It's the issue I've run into the most. Great perspective .

    Great conversation, guys! I've been in the virtual tour biz for about 15 years. You are really on target with many of the things you discussed. I created a business model a long time ago that has seemed to work well for me. I charge a very reasonable "annual licensing" that include the initial shoot and yearly updates if needed. I have always avoided using the term hosting, because, depending on the client, they will always think they can just host it on their own and things start to get very complicated at that point. So, I use the licensing approach and then it really doesn't matter to me if they choose to host it or not. Most won't host it themselves. Especially if I don't use that term. Hope that makes sense. Feel free to reply if you have any questions regarding the model I've been using for several years. Again, great video!

    I am just getting the hang of this 360 thing, most of our clients are somewhat grounded this year by the virus thing. Sold a few Matterport shows. Seems great for one coherent interior (real estate works better than yachts on Matterport I think); obvious limitations included (no manual post processing, you have to get the alignment/floor allocations right while shooting, no fixing in post) Now I have several clients lined up for shipyards, factories with INT and EXT pics, not a good match for Matterport, as far as I know. What do you recommend for those situations? Thanks in advance.

    360 tours pricing is based on ,sqft? Rooms? Commercial? Residential ? Also about hosting is that something extra we have to charge to the client? Sorry I am beginning in this field ,so I am a little lost.
    I would like to know more about this topic. TIA :-)

    This is a great insight to empower more creatives. Not that I've looked deep into the industry but I think you're one of the first creatives that I've seen outsource or partner with another agency/sales team. Really great example. Is there conversations in those Facebook groups about augmenting value or quality by using higher quality camera cameras like insta360 Titan for example?

    • @JRDNPWRS
      @JRDNPWRS  4 года назад +2

      As we talked about in this video, photographers are always focused on the best quality but quality is relative. There are TOO MANY conversations in the groups about the "best" camera to use, etc.

      @@JRDNPWRS I've also noticed first hand much depends on the end users computer screen when viewing on desktop! All that Lightroom work for naught when someone views the pic on an old screen ;-)

    Very good, Jordan. I (an oldster) found this very interesting, and I appreciate the time it took for you to make this.
    Has the virtual tour business increased - decreased - or stayed level since COVID has passed?
    And additional hints (since it has been 2 years) on how to price these jobs ... and card dealership jobs ... and RV dealerships ... and on and on?
    I'm like you, I'm not a salesman, especially for cold calling.
    Another question: since you said that you did a few shots and showed them a quick demo of what it would look like, were they satisfied with the quality of the images? And one further thing: do you believe (and this college) believe that "MOST VIEWERS" of the end product looks a the tours on a cell phone and or a tablet ... with some views on a computer monitor? And if that's the case, obviously, the photo quality that even ... say ... and iPhone Pro Max 13 and above would get the job done ... right (assuming that the HDR looks good ... and not like 'clown vomit'?)
    Last question, Jordan: could you give a link to that or one other college's virtual tours to see how it looks?
    Thanks, Chuck (North East Florida) : +)

    You really deserve this piece if business the generous way you give back to the photographic community. Just can't understand why, with your talent, your real estate prices are so low. I guess it's the area; prices would need to be at least doubled here in the North East. Where did they say Minnesota was? I have to move there, as long as it doesn't snow.

    • @JRDNPWRS

      Alan Abley my rates are very normal for my region and for the Midwest. My rates also fluctuate based on location so once I get to the larger metro areas they go up about $80-$150.

    Hey guys. Thanks for the great video. Question: You mentioned charging $250/mo for hosting and maintenance, but then mentioned that the schools downloaded the tours to use their own servers - how does their hosting the tour themselves translate into you being able to charge a hosting fee? Or am I missing something? Thanks again
    edit: I understand the maintenance aspect that you're offering (although the fear of being taken advantage of in such a situation is definitely on my mind).

    • @JRDNPWRS
      @JRDNPWRS  4 года назад +1

      D9everything good point. Even if they put it on their servers to “host” it, I need to keep in on Cloudpano in order to be able to update it. I should have also clarified, right now they are just using an embed code on their site. I had forgotten that at the time we were recording.

      @@JRDNPWRS Thanks for getting back to me on that question, Jordan. Your contributions across all the platforms (shooting spaces, PFRE, and the Video course which i purchased, to name a few) have been instrumental for me in finding my way in this business. I even purchased and went through the Storybrand material. So, I owe you big time. Aryeo def seems like the one-stop-shop I've been looking for, although HD Photo Hub is promising as well.
