- This has been one of my all time favorite duet songs through the years and this rendition is similar to the cover Joey and Rory sang of this Townes Van Zandt tune. Emmett Franz was kind enough to join me on this one. Enjoy another back porch sing 😊

I think Katy and Emmet are two of the most naturally talented musicians around and it shows here. Their talent is in interpretation as much as musical ability.

This is great to listen to, they sing superbly together. It’s a shame these duets seem to have stopped, but I suspect it is at least partly due to the comments below and in other videos that they should be a couple. That brings unfair pressure on them, they are both mature Christians who will only proceed with a relationship if they are sure it is right before God, and I salute them for that!

I have loved this song, almost Hymn, for what? Forty- forty five years. Emmett’s playing is excellent and his singing is just fine. Katie appears to throughly understand the song.
I just discovered The Petersens a couple months ago. Oh... my. I can't stop listening to them. But... Katie... wow.... your voice. You have the voice of a siren. Absolutely enchanting. Sublime beyond words. Your whole family is incredible, but IMO, you are the true star.

I have been coming back to your back porch sings and I really enjoy this song. After a while I went back and watched the Townes performance of his song. Learning about his life, these lyrics really make sense. For those that enjoy this song be sure to hear the Emmylou Harris and Don Williams version.
