    FYI: I know that I fail to properly blur one section in the video but it was like the most loose and non-spoiler note so I just left it

    This software sounds like exactly what I need!! I don't love the learning curve of new software, but it seems like the benefits will be everything I'm craving for my plotting. Thank you so much for sharing a review!

    I've watched this video like six times since it came out because I wasn't liking how I was using plottr. I now have 18 of the little plot rows, all for different things, and it's working WAY better. Thank you so much! Fun fact: Plottr gets SLOW when you get a lot of plots and cards going. Not a ton, but enough to notice in Large and Medium timeline view.

    • @LiselleSambury
      @LiselleSambury  2 года назад +2

      I’m so glad the video ended up helping you find a method of using Plottr that works for you!! And yeah, I have started noticing that slowness some in the medium view which is what I use mostly when I’m trying to scroll over. Like you said, not a ton though. Hopefully that gets adjusted in an update

    I was playing around with this recently, and I found it super helpful (even with using something I've already drafted). I have a lot of consistency problems, so I liked how I was able to use it to keep track if a certain character was in a particular chapter. Especially when they need to have emotional impact later on (re: a death scene).

    • @LiselleSambury
      @LiselleSambury  2 года назад

      It is super helpful in that way! That’s definitely something I’m thinking it’ll help me with because consistency can for sure be a challenge if you’re juggling a lot of characters

    This video is super helpful to this wannabe novelist who is overwhelmed by Plottr. I really want to use Plottr because I need the organization, but I feel like until I use it to write a book, I won't understand how to use it to write my book. So! Anyway, thank you so much!!

    Hi Liselle ! I love this kind of helping software for plotting. I wonder how different it is from Aon Timeline which I'm already using (it's for creating timelines but has also views with dots and systems with tags, events, parenting, filtering system etc.)
    Though this makes me extremely curious and want to play to it !

    • @LiselleSambury

      Sorry, I don’t know anything about Aon Timeline. I’ve never heard of it. But it seems like it’s pretty similar

    Hi Liselle. Thank you for your excellent review. I am 77, and I would like to write a series of memoir essays about my life with a common meandering theme. Unlike a traditional autobiography which is usually a complete life story. Is Plottr a good software for writing a series of randomly connected memoir tales? I will be including many images, past to present to flesh out the stories. Can photos be included? You did mention once in your video you liked seeing the image of a character. Finally, I am a bit concerned that the setup and learning curve may be (a not-so-good fit) for memoir writing using Plottr. If not, can you recommend an alternate software better suited to composing memoirs? Cheers.

    • @LiselleSambury
      @LiselleSambury  2 года назад

      Hi! Plottr I’m sure can be whatever you make it, so if you want to briefly plot out each essay or lay out all the essays you’re planning, that’s something you could do for it.
      And yes, so in the little scene cards you can include photos and links and all sorts of things.
      I don’t really know of a software that I would say is comparable to doing what Plottr does, and I’m sorry to say I don’t write or know much about memoir so I can’t say what software would be especially good for it. I would just recommend trying out the free trial version and seeing if you like it
