Many of the points made in the video are valid and while I can't directly address all of the points, I'd like to make light of ones I can.
Firstly, I'd like to talk about communication. From my time working at NetherGames, it has been obvious that attempts have been made to be more transparent with the player base, but it seems that they fail due to inactivity and scheduling conflicts. Though it doesn't seem like it, many of the developers and higher-ups are working extremely hard with a level of compensation that doesn't even amount to what it should be for their efforts. Regardless, I'd like to make it clear that my DMs are always open for feedback on gamemodes, bugs, etc.
For my second point, I want to address the administration efforts and what some see as mishandling. I understand the frustration behind bug reports going unanswered and thinking that the development team needs extreme approval from many levels before anything can get started, but in reality, it has been quite the opposite (personally). If I see an issue with our codebase or with the game, I can ask a question and get a response with minutes. This is all I need to address the issue and push it out to production. The reason that I believe it may be perceived as molasses slow is likely due to precautions taken to prevent A) malware from occurring and B) an update from crashing the network or other gamemodes. In the past, I have made suggestions to implement an update system that would release bug fixes on Tuesdays and feature updates on every other Thursday. I still have hope for this suggestion to be implemented, but many steps have to be taken to ensure that each department pulls their own weight for it to occur.
Next, I'd like to address a few points made about some of the recent decisions and how they've personally impacted my work with the development team. While many aren't a fan of `feedback.nethergames.org`, it has become a lot easier to gauge community feedback as well as find marked topics to work on in the future. I do agree that `#suggestions` wasn't a bad place to house the ideas, but lacked a lot of features (like comments) to help us get specifics on ideas. I know that it also seems like the teams may be disconnected from the network and the player base, but I'd like to address that issue internally as soon as I can.
Lastly, I'd like to partially talk about what you can expect in the future. Without giving too much detail, I'd like to say that we *are* listening and have many items in the pipeline that I hope can release in the following months. Personally, I've worked extremely hard on internal systems that will push the network higher than it has ever been. You should start seeing updates rolling out soon as the development and administration teams have been putting in a ton of effort to ensure the highest quality updates for the player base.
On behalf of the development team, thank you to every player that has been patient with us. Your patience will not go unrewarded. Please keep sending feedback my way. I love seeing any way I can improve the network for the player base!

It can be argued that nethergames is just a hobby to the owners, but the thing is, a lot of these problems, like you mentioned, are easily solvable and just need a bit of thinking and focus put into them, for just a little while. If they can add entirely new gamemodes and features, so can they fix these common issues. not to mention nethergames has had them for ages now and I've noticed that more and more the longer I'm staff for, which makes people's expectations on it always so low, and it saddens me to be honest, because the server has a lot of potential and could achieve a lot if only they did it correctly. It also made people have a bunch of great memories. I hope this will make them finally change and improve, thanks for putting the time and effort in this video. :D also nice rap at 10:33 lmao

I really hope staff members see this and start to work on new features like tnt and fireball jump as mentioned in the vid,and fix the common bugs. I have experienced a bug in Bed wars in which If i click too fast on the NPC it will not open the shop for the rest of the game. So i have to re login and rejoin.this needs to be fixed
dude, this happened to me too, if you exit the game by typing /hub instead of leaving the server, it will be fixed.

I feel another good step would be try to add some sort of match making, I see a lot of players who are sometimes upwards of level 300 in my games but I'm only level 98. I feel like it would be a really good addition because it would let new players actually have fun and keep playing instead of getting rushed by a level 200 tryhard 5 seconds into a game and quitting.
Yes they should because I always see new players atleast level 5 and im a level 100+ and I don't wanna ruin it for them. Happy they have only touch but they should also add what you said,and maybe have a option to seperate people who play on different devices like you play on pc,you play with other pc players it will probably not let touch players quit all the time
i think there's not enough players for that to work, somebody that is a low level will be able to have faster games and get more credits

some of these points are very valid and as someone whose spent about 2 and a half years playing ng and recently quit due to these issues and the server itself just becoming more boring and just unfun, i really hope ng can solve these issues such as the like 1 year time frame it took them to change the youtube rank requirements and the especially bad staff communication and the ridiculously long timeframe for a bug to get fixed such as the broken gen glitch like you mentioned and the small features such as the bedwars winstreak counter that many many players would appreciate.
also this is a great video from you and considering i don’t usually watch your videos i really enjoyed this one.

It has a lot of bug like blocks are not breaking and we are placing a block and falling in the void by lagging our hits not registering to enemies and many more

me as a faction player can aboslutely understand what your talking about theres dupes all the time that get fixed after like a week , everytime you go in pvp theres hackers and theres nothing new since like half a year and they made this season even worse then last one
nethergames in the pandemic was peak i used to come home every day and grind it was awesome i met friends that i still talk to to this day on that server no if i go on ng it feels like a chore to play and its just sad
I think that they should let the players have more of a say I know that there are some polls on dc and everything but like not everyone has dc. And for the staff I think they should each be like assigned a bug, probably, or thing to fix and separately work on it then bring it back and tell everyone.

I joined this server back in 2019 and I don’t get the same joy I did in the 2019-2021 period. It feels like they focus more on map/lobby changing and less on changing the gameplay. I have seen countless friends disappear and I have distanced myself from this server for now.
If nethergames were to be discontinued, where would you go? If you had the chance would you make your own server? (Awesome video, very informative and points are clear.)

It's kinda sad that one of nethergames creators that has I'd say a pretty large community/following has made videos in the past about things that need to be fixed on nethergames or issues it has but they never listen. Though I guess that most servers eventually fail because the staff don't listen to their community as much as they should

experience that I had once. So when new maps were introduced to bridge like 5 months ago maybe. I was playing the map wooden and I ran to the backside of the goal mined down and there was empty space beneath it. I shared the screenshot on the bridge channel in nethergames discord a staff watched it and said I thought I filled it lemme fill it real quick now it has been 5 months and the space is still hollow LMFAOOO
I do agree on your point on communication. They seem to always have been a wall to community, and no player can really gauge what nether games is doing or what they have tried to improve on. There are the occasional updates on their website, but I think that is one of the large issues that nether games needs to solve because it can help then realize the severity of some of their issues by player feedback. Another thing I wanted to note that isn’t talked about very often is that the executives don’t really play. Tye the people and culture executive seems to be distant with the people and culture as she doesn’t really play and from my point of view she just does the bare minimum. I have seen a few executive advisors play like once or twice in my 2 years playing, but that seems far too little to gauge a proper analysis of the community and the server status. I think an active executive could help bring light to why the community is so frustrated and that would snowball into the other issues being solved. Also about the future I have talked to Tobias once or twice in a random conversation where they are trying to make it featured which could obviously help funding and lack of devs, but regardless of how slow Microsoft is in handling that system I believe they could definitely further pursue that ambition. I said a lot that didn’t make much sense and was incoherent, but I hope my input was valid.

I was intrigued by this video, and chapter 1 was a very good explanation, I also agree with it, people need to change with time, and so do the things people make, like how ng never thought about a level based pvp system, I asked one of the builder/admin people that they should add a skill/kdr based pvp system tso tryhards dont grind on new players, they said it wasn't necessary because it wouldn't matter, I don't understand why? I agree with some of your statements but even in the sense in adding these new updates it’s definitely not as easy as it looks. The developers are constantly working and they are working on their own category some do web development, infrastructure, and server development. Which they do make a lot of changes with like the store and even updates on the anticheat. They are well aware of some of the suggestions but have put some off because they have bigger issues on hand. Even though I do agree that suggestions are just brought up to a wall, which needs to be changed because they’re great suggestions brought up. But even like the new suggestion about “more cosmetics” it could easily lag out the server and it might be hard to implement cause of the data. I do not know much but people keep hating on the developers about them doing “nothing” which is totally not true and I do agree on some of your points about to make NG better is to listen to the community, however we have to cut them some slack. Good points though, that was just the one that caught my eye. Good video though keep it up 👍
i heavily disagree wih almost everything, all I mentioned are changes that I know are easy to change because it's mostly just how certain systems are structured. They are not aware of most suggestions because I know they don't read the channel, I have been in calls with owners and they think the server doesn't have any issues right now, they are not aware of the community as a whole. As for cosmetics, I got a dm from somebody that worked on a cancelled cosmetic updated, and the cosmetics were specifically chosen because they wouldn't lag. However one owner didn't like it and didn't want them. The whole developer point was a bit misunderstood and I blame myself for that, what I wanted to explain was that developers don't have a good bug detection system, they rely on mostly inexperienced players to tell them what is not working and what is a bug, which is horrible data. However nobody goes out of their way to ask players that know what they are doing.
@@Chr7st Before I start I do not want to come across as argumentative, I am just trying to understand where you are coming from and I am willing to not be stubborn and I will actually listen to what you have to say. To get a better grasp on things that should be focused on. Which is a good thing that they added Knome as the Community Manager which is a good step, but I do agree that they can do much more. And thank you for clarifying on the developer point, I see where you are coming from! Again I am not trying to be argumentative at all I am just stating a point and I’m willing to listen. Good news: Fireball and tnt jumping have been added, idk If the replay mod was fixed because I only got to use it for a month.
My main problem is the players. I am not super good, but I am above average. The only players I encounter are noobs, average people, and super sweaty people, occasionally hackers. None of those people are on my level, so nethergames is really easy for me, which is bad, and sometimes really hard to win when I keep on queuing with sweats. I recently started playing the hive, it is a lot more competitive lol, because most people know what they are doing. My other problem with nethergames are these glitches where the chest are invisible, in bedwars, and if you try or accidentally try to open them, it won't, and you will not be able to open any shopkeeper or your inventory. Same in skywars too, you have to mine the invisible chests, and your inventory cannot be opened. I am not a dev, so I am not going to get mad at them for not fixing it, because idk how hard it is to fix, so yeah.

Ive seen such a decrease in players lately. It’s sad because I get their frustrations the server is constantly laggy, the shop sometimes doesn’t work, half the time the e chest is invisible and a whole lot of game modes are not even being worked on. Did you know that 2 days ago some staff sent a message to everyone in the server to go to lobby three just so they could spam advertise a rank or something, and that’s when I just put my game down and went to do something else. It’s disappointing to see nethergames progress

I want to mention that I got kicked 3 times in a week for “unfair advantages”, I am a pro and I use the new controls with the crosshair mode, but, when we have a hacker in a match and I report them, instead I get kicked. (btw I also defeated an actual hacker with no hacks)

About RUclips rank, I found it pretty messed up. I’ve applied over 4 times, got denied all times, I understand this because I never rlly was able to average over 1k views. What rlly frustrated me was that shorts channels that got 1k subs in a month and were only able to get 30 views on an actual vid got RUclips rank.
I just thought it was rlly unfair that people could just spam upload shorts to get 1k subs and yt rank whereas other people have been grinding for over a year trying to get RUclips rank but have never been able to because of the fact that the amount of viewers you can get for making videos on a smaller server is not that much compared to a bigger server like Hive for example.

I also made a suggestion for cosmetics which got 26 upvotes in discord
Last time i made suggestions for ranking system where people will get players near thier level/rank and then match would be competitive , it got 34 upvotes in discord

you are so right my friend. Our country is in economic crisis and I don't have pcem. I always play on the phone. but ng found a solution to this. Go to profile settings and turn on touch only, from now on you will always play with mobile players, but sometimes the wait can be up to 5 minutes. I played for like a year and a half unaware of it :/

even though im perma banned(will touch on this later), i still play the server on a pretty regular basis (mainly cause of people ive had the opportunity to meet).
the communication from the management team or the devs is abhorrent at best, like you mentioned the suggestions channel and how little they paid attention to it. in all honestly i didnt even know they made a whole seperate website for them until now LMFAOO.
moving on to the staff and its issues, theres definitely very clear cases of staff having their favorites within the playerbase and cases of staff having grudges against players. for example: theres a mod who has muted people over "stfu" but not over players say "kill yourself", even then, the chat filter is actually laughable, you cant say "kill" but youre able to say "pornography" without it being censored.
the cps limit, in theory is a good idea its just put into place so poorly. i know players who have clicked 50+ and get nothing said but if a mod has a grudge against you, they can easily ban you for clicking 20 enough to set off the anticheat.
now we get to good ol' nethergames and bugs, the dynamic duo, the iconic duo.
the amount of bugs there have been is actually insane, ranging from ridiculous to game changing. now heres a list of bugs i can name from the top of my head:
- ladders being broken (2 seperate times)
- spectators being able to attack the dragons in bedwars endgame
- emerald and diamond gens duplicating the amount in them
- private parties not working
- getting kicked from a bedwars game if you end up standing on the shop-chest (a temporary chest appears for you when you open shop)
- and so on...
now to me being banned, yeah i got perma banned back in january of this year, since then ive been able to play through making alts. on multiple instances ive said how pathetic the ban evading and detection system works on nethergames. honestly, you dont even need a vpn or anything like that. you can literally make a new alt with microsoft using a outlook email, and boom youre able to join without any issue at all. throughout my time of being perma banned, there have been instances of staff members knowing im playing and knowing that i am banned but even then they dont ban me, however there have also been instances where those same staff members ban me whenever it convinences them (for example, i got banned mid tournament dispite having played with the staff member literally the day prior)
- to add on even more, the server i used to play, is much smaller than nethergames and has 2/3 devs at max. yet they some how have a better system to deal with ban evaders, in all honestly its pathetic how nethergames deals with ban evaders.
now for more up to date issues, for the past day or so, theres been a major issue son bedwars, one issue is where out of nowhere you will be essentially frozen on other peoples screens but not on yours. youre able to move around, but you cannot break/mine blocks or attack anyone. the other major issue is the constant lagback you experience out of nowhere. from what ive heard, these bugs are a result of anti-cheat updates being pushed out but if your anti-cheat is causing this much issues, you need to reconsider if the update is worth it. videos of the bugs described: ruclips.net/video/70LMJVX30VQ/видео.html - ruclips.net/video/keZAlhOOvw8/видео.html - ruclips.net/video/BXyvj2pm4lY/видео.html
the ben situation is certainly something. as you may know, i am not the biggest fan of ben however i am able to put aside personal issues when it comes to things like this. if what i was told is true, then honestly the removal of ben from the staff and build team is a actual braindead decision from the higher ups. as you said, ben is one of the only staff who can tell if someone is closet cheating or not, why remove such a vital member of your staff team over something so miniscule and insignificant that happened 4 months ago. its ridiculous and a shame that it happened, even if they decide to let ben back into the staff team, there will still be the thought in everyones mind of "one wrong move and its over". it sets up a environment of fear and cautiousness that is unnecessary for a minecraft server

I agree with you, NetherGames has a lot of bugs (invisible glitches, Can't move / can't do anything) and I just quit for a while. Then eventually I remember the server and the same bugs are still not fixed, and I saw a difference to the average players. It went from an average of 1.5k players to 100-150 players. I hope the developers see this video and fix the server : )

The cps thing is dumb to be honest just because controller players or touch players can't click that fast some controller players can click that fast (but not me lol) It's sad to see barely any new players play bedwars or other game modes. In most my games I mostly see Ritsdev or dark legend a lot more though Nowadays I'm playing hive. Than rather nether games hopefully they add new games modes maybe if they add challenges I might play more than I ever have. Like if your playing bedwars solos you can choose regular,can't use swords,or can't use diamonds or emeralds. I know hypixel has something and hive has kits I don't want it to be like hive or hypixel but just want it to be more fun you explained this amazingly though maybe they'll look at this video and change just a tiny bit THEN more people might come back. Edit:I said this on a comment I replied to but they should also add a separation between people who play different devices because these touch players be quitting sometimes which is really sad too.

Block lag, hackers, there should be a block place timer for solo people and double also there needs to be a ranked and normal person bw so normal people can practice

imo, there are so many things that seem like no brainers that they should add, as an example: tnt jumping and fireball jumping. yes i literally mention this in every video related to nethergames ._.

You can fireball jump with the correct timing not sure about tnt jumping tho

Personally my thoughs are that the community, there are so many games on ng but everyone plays is the bw sw and duels and that's it, i quit ng like 2 years ago but started playing a month ago again, i first thought that it would have changed but it didn't it's still the same

I click extremely fast I’m talking 25+ and I got kicked twice for this so I changed my debounce time to 12 AND I STILL CAN CLICK 20 but at 14 doesn’t even register, so I completely agree that there shouldn’t be a CPS cap. (Also I’m not good at jitter and I have been trying for months I can’t do it)

Tbh i just want fireball and tnt jumping. They should also change fireball physics, it's trash and it is buggy, sometimes it blows up on your face, sometimes if you have 2 fireballs, it would use 2. They should copy Venity's fireball, the physics so much better and you can also fireball jump while in nethergames, the fireball is too slow. If it is added then fireball and TNT would be a game changer, many strategies are going to be made
