Okay, here’s my theory. Kris saw Dess fall into a dark world, and they tried everything to get her back, which includes telling the police. Coincidentally, Undyne is the only monster in town that you have the *option* to tell about dark worlds, but she just laughs it off. So how would Kris get her to listen? By creating a scenario where Undyne had no other choice but to see the dark world for herself. During chapter two, kris learns how to create a dark fountain, and that’s where the plan comes together. Kris yeets the soul, sneaks out of the house, and slashes toriel’s tires, causing her to call the police. Then, when everyone else is asleep, Kris creates the fountain, and opens the front door. As a Police officer, Undyne (Or Napstablook, if they’re the one who answers) would have to at least come in to take a statement, and thus, fall right into the dark world. Why go through all this? *its the only way to get everyone to believe Kris about what they saw when Dess went missing*
I like this because it allows my theory that gaster is the knight. If you hack the game to add the horse stable in the files, and bring a key from inside the deleted bin, redacted appears (the white blob behind kris at 4:08) redacted has been heavily theorised to be gaster. deltarune has a big theming of chess. Chapter 1 was the king. Chapter 2 was the queen. Chapter 3 could be the Bishop. Chapter 4 could be the rook. That would mean that Chapter 5 could be the knight. What's the knight represented as in chess? A horse... I also think dess could be in the bunker becaue it has 2 doors. The computer lab was changed to have 2 doors so that susie and kris could jump in. The only reason that kris's house doesent have that is because they are already inside by the time that the dark world is created.
@@guffthebir72 the only problem is that mystery man is just so kuch associated with gaster that it got to a point where toby has to make it cannon but its still a good theory we just have to wait for toby to give us a hint or officaly announce it if mytery man is gaster or not but as i said it got to a point where it has to be cannon
Kris is aware of the roaring, he could've just put that aside but I don't think Kris would risk the lives of everyone to save his childhood friend's sister.
@@apersonwhoexists3383 The roaring very well could be a lie told by Ralsei to motivate the player to close dark fountains, and to discourage new fountains randomly appearing.
You forgot about how it’s mentioned that Kris, Noelle, Dess, and Asriel regularly looked in the forest bellow hometown, where the bunker is. And monster kid implies Kris has been down there before, and seen something. And the bunker makes sounds that sound like the garbage noise on the phone, aka Gaster sounds.
I reckon chapter 5 will be about finding Dess while chapter 6 and 7 will be about You vs Kris, 6 and 7 will have all the other characters be irrelevant (except maybe susie) so that it can focus just the inner conflict of "what happens to Kris when they are no longer needed as a vessel?"
Blind shot: Dess is definitely in the bunker. And there is a dark world inside. The bunker even have double doors. Every entrance to the dark world so far is double doored. And it's no coincidence because originally entrance to the part with computers in library was one door but then Toby Fox made it double door. Coincidence? I think NOT.
@@takasimirecipe me too lol. I just got here and asked myself a question "I wonder where dess might be". Suddenly I thought about a bunker and suddenly it all clicked. Also the bunker has some kind of mystery. That definitely ties to Kris which is proven by the dialouge between snowy and monster kid, but also notice how in the whole town we have happy music EVEN AT THE GRAVE YARD (atleast I think correct me if I'm wrong) but there is no music near the bunker. Because this place reminds Kris of what have happened most likely. Also if Dess got lost in the Dark world then it explains why Kris is scared of the dark world in the first chapter. Why no one talks about Dess? Becuase everyone was confused what happened so everyone was scared to mention it: exept of course her family because they couldn't just not talk about her they wouldn't just forget about her even though they didn't understand what happened. OOOO WAIT I just realised. This IS a mystery. No one in the town knows what happened to Dess. Why? Because of the berdly's story about spelling bee. When Noele gets the word December she falls down on her knees because it reminded her of her sister that most likely just disapeared. The time of the spelling bee must be very soon after Dess'es disappearance. And notice that Berdly doesn't know why Noele did that. Conclusion: no one told berdly about how Dess disappeared. So I think that it is very likely that besides Noele's family no one in the town knows what really happened to Dess. And that's because no one could explain what have happened. And Noele's mom is a mayor so she could easily brush it of as something (!btw warning amongus below!) not important and get rid of any rumors AMONGst monsters. So yeah I just got in a bit of a flow and maybe just solved another mystery, definitely made a theory of some sort. The more you think about it the more it makes sense. All the pieces are coming togheter.
IK I'm very late but some evidence about this is the dice bracelet in chapter 1 says "friendship" (from Ralsei's dialouge) and if you give it to Noelle she says that Kris jumbled it, probably to "find her" (and then a pis at then end).
I'm thinking that Dess's dissapearance could be related with whatever is behind the door at the south of the town, in chapter 2 it's implied that something happened and that Kris was involved, you could probably connect a few dots and maybe it's possible that this is where Dess's dissapearance happened.
there is a dark world. There is most definitely a dark world. I know I might be overconfident right now - but it just makes so much sense if you think about it. I'm not saying that IS going to happen BUT it just makes so much sense to me some much that I would bet on just that
I feel like we will met Dess in one of the dark worlds, but after searing the fountain she would come back as an object just like darkners manifest like objects in the light world. I want to speculate about Dess’ death. If I recall it correctly, In UT after monster died family of the monster puts their dust on something that was important to them during their life. To explore your theory further, it’s a possibility that Kris witnessed Dess’ death and sprayed her dust on something, might as well be the guitar from spamton sweepstakes. That guitar was never seen in game before, so it’s either in Noelle’s home or somewhere where Kris hid it, after spraying Dess’ dust on it.
i think it's more likely that Rudy passed away in the Undertale timeline. In the alarm clock app dialogue, Asgore says that Rudy and him were there for each other through their youth, Rudy's Marriage, and Rudy becoming a father, but then one day he "fell down". In Undertale that's basically just monster lingo for dying. Asgore never mentions anything about Rudy's children dying, which I think he would have mentioned if he was already on the topic of Rudy's family and children. Even though the timeline's aren't exactly the same, I feel like it would be pretty odd for Toby to write Rudy passing away but have no mention of Dess passing away at all if that was the route he wanted to take his story.
@@youngjellyfish8694 she might have passed in secret, only for kris to witness. In video mystic slime said that playing the piano could have been that way to express kris’s emotions, as well as guilt and therefore disability to speak about Dess’ death
@@seraphic_sephirah People can feel guilty about things other than death. If Dess went missing, and Kris knew how she disappeared (but was unable to get her back) then that is a very good reason to be guilty. As well, the "Find her" website and "Lost girl" song seem like a pretty direct connection to the idea of her disappearing, and Toby wouldn't just add those details for no reason.
If Dess is dead then sure, but once again it seems that Darkners existed before this object becoming concept, so think of it as a rule of becoming an object once a fountain is created and they are within it at that moment aswell as when it's sealed away, turning them into objects, thus being capable of being sent to other dark worlds but probably not the original versions of these. And even then aside from the Castle, much like we saw with Lancer snd Rxles, she wouldn't be able to manifest elsewhere. But that is again considering if she was dead and somehow came back to "life" before she was within a dark world space or not. The possibility of her still being taken to a dark world and being trapped within is very high aswell, so we will see what ends up happening, either way, interesting way to think about it.
Dess might be a secret boss in a later chapter. Think about it, it would be such a great plotline and an amazing fight also it would create a pattern for all the secret bosses(like spamton and jevil for realizing that they aren't free.)
It'd be interesting if dess was a secret boss. It would be more interesting if noelle fought alongside kris and susie (if ralsei gets temporarily removed from the party) and to see how neolle would react to seeing her older sister after a long time Just imagine how noelle would feel to seeing her older sister as a secret boss in the darkworld.
Assuming she’s the one singing Don’t Forget, this could very well be the case. Jevil and Spamton both have voice acted lines (I CAN DO ANYTHING! or NOW’S YOUR CHANCE TO BE A BIG SHOT!) If Dess is singing Don’t Forget, her having a voice could be another connection to the other secret bosses (someone brought this up in the replies of my comment, credits to them)
Dess has been a huge mystery so it's really difficult to be able to come to a stable theory. If anything it's incredible how you were able to put together one yourself
I do think a strong connection between Kris and Dess from their childhoods is entirely possible! I saw something once about how it’s possible Noelle took on a similar personality to Asriel (at least, the personality we see in Undertale) and in turn, Kris and Dess are similar in that sense. I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out Kris perhaps felt closer to Dess then to Asriel… Or I’m wrong and Kris could simply feel a strong dislike towards Dess or something else. Either way, it would be interesting to learn about their relationship pre- Dess’s disappearance
yo that's actually a pretty cool theory, I hope it's true (or at least somewhat true). Kris is my favorite character, so any theory for Kris to have more friends is a good theory to me ^.^
Something just popped in my mind. So, December, why would that be shortened to "Dess", there's no "S"in "December". In Japanese (デス)Desu, "which is pronounced Dess" is a word for Death. We all know Toby is very familiar with Japanese culture, and loves word puns. So, perhaps Dess really is meant to be dead. Or maybe this name pun is a red herring.
in the official japanese version dess's name is ディセ (dise), abbrieviated from ディセンバー(disenbaa) which is the english word december said phonetically in japanese, so it probably wasn't intended to be a pun at all but maybe its a pun only in the english version. but i personally doubt it. interesting guess though!
デス is not really a word meaning death in japanese, its just how they would pronounce the english word "death" (spelled in katakana because its a foreign loan word). desu is actually a whole different word in japanese and means "to be". it fills the same function as the english words "is", "are", and "am". im pretty sure its spelled dess because thats just a more natural way to shorten the name. most nicknames are spelled a bit differently than the name they derived from
@@gristen I am aware デス is derived from the English "death" but I would say it still means death. Even though 死 (Shi) or some variant of it is more often used for death, there are still examples of デス(Desu) being used in Japanese media to signify death. I am aware of です(Desu) which is why I used the katakana of デス (Desu) to avoid confusion, since they are phonetically pronounced essentially the same, and use the same English letters when translated into English but are different words. One could use Dece or Dec for the nickname and it would make just as much sense. Maybe how the name is pronounced wouldn't be as immediately apparent, however, Delatarune also has names like Seam and Rouxls Kaard which are even acknowledged in-game to be tricky to pronounce, Seam says his name is pronounced "Sham" similar to Sean, and there's literally a song in Deltarune named "It's Pronounced Rules".
@@R0-83-RT well either the way the comment above mine kind of discredits your theory on this. toby has been really good at making sure lore important stuff is translated the same and i doubt he wouldve missed this one
@@kerenaho1031 The thing is if Dess' name used the Katakana of デス it would make the pun too apparent for a Japanese audience. It also arguably just doesn't;t work with ディセンバー, due to being pronounced a bit differently from December. I do thank you for informing me of this regardless, and it does admittedly put a bit less credibility to my speculation
ngl gyftrot has been on my mind ever since noelle was introduced. i just have so many questions about him. whats his deal...is he in the deltarune universe...whys his head look like the DT extractor...etc etc
my theory has always been this: Dess, Asriel, Noelle, & Kris went to explore the far side of town with the bunker. there was always lots of rumors & urban legends or whatever, & it looks like an OLD bunker, so ppl have been staying away from it. but going in? it's like a challenge. so they wanted to go & do it but Asriel & Noelle backed out- Noelle was scared & Asriel took her away. Kris & Dess continue on. they go into the bunker. Kris sees something they cannot describe & they go thru something they cannot tell anyone. Dess is lost & somehow trapped inside the code of their reality & kinda drifting in the Dark World, in a way. Kris can't tell anyone about what they know. Asgore is tasked to find Dess, but he fails to find her & the Mayor kicks him off the force. Toriel & Asgore were already tense but losing his job as chief breaks the back & they divorce. this must've happened at least 5+ years ago or so- ppl don't talk about it anymore, Kris & Noelle have had some time to drift apart, Asriel finishes up school & goes to college. a decent amount of time in between. idk if Dess is the Knight or anything like that, but i believe the prsn who's speaking to us thru the code is Dess.
If Dess really got lost in a dark world, then I feel like it's pretty likely she would realistically be dead by now. We know that Lightners actually need food to survive, and we know from Susie that food in the dark world doesn't seem to matter, implying it's either imaginary or at least not filling in the real world. So that means it's possible that getting stuck inside a dark world would end with you just straight up starving to death. I can't imagine how Dess would survive in an environment like that, especially without any other party members.
Alright this comment just made me think of something so get ready for a bit of a stretch and me using Undertale as a reference Remember in Undertale, how Flowey was created and why he resembled Asriel? Because his dust got in the flowers after he died, and then Alphys injected him with Determination. Then, a being who had no conscience, a flower, became a wicked and immoral version of a previously sweet monster. Because his dust was in the "object". Now, following the theory that Dess is, in fact, dead in a Dark World, it could be that she still exists within the dark world, but the second she leaves it she would get in a terminal state or even just instantly turn into dust. She would still be in the Dark World because her body/her dust was there, in a random object in the room (which since she's associated with guitars might be a guitar? Makes sense to me.) So she'd pretty much become a Darkener. It would also be interesting if Flowey's situation of not having a soul applied to her, making her become immoral and/or psychotic. Even if it's not because of the lack of a soul, being in a Dark World for Angel knows how long has to have some impact on your mental state. I love this theory but at the same time I hate it, because it means she'd probably be a secret or just a final boss. Meaning we'd have to fight her, and there'd probably be a genocide run of it. Would be even worse if Noelle was in the Party.
@@appleinxed I've considered that possibility yeah, it could make for a pretty interesting dilemma where Noelle needs to choose between staying with her sister in the dark world but risking the safety of her friends, or saving the light world but having to destroy any chance of getting to see her sister again.
Ok, so ever since I played Chapter 2 I haven’t stopped thinking that Asriel might be the Knight. We know that Asriel will come back “next week”, and there will be seven chapters, so we can expect Asriel to appear and play a major role; we also have Ralsei’s and Asriel’s strange connection. So, what if Asriel is creating Dark Worlds in order to find Dess? We know that the four of them used to hang out in the past, we know that at one time Kris had an experience with the bunker, and there’s the fact that the first save point has Kris’s name and that Noelle mentions how familiar the Dark World feels, so my theory is that the bunker is the Dark World where they used to hang out until Dess went missing
It's really weird to see Kris stop playing piano when Noelle is watching since according to the person in Hospital, Kris doesn't seem to be annoyed by others watching. BTW, the unused lines in the code, rather than Gaster's entry 17, it reminds me more about the fake Toriels's quotes in the echo flowers, not sure whether these are related
I've waiting for someone to point out the part about the conversation between Kris and the voice for a while. It just seemed odd that spamton eyes went dark or offline during the dialogue. Then he snapped back as if not knowing where the voice came from but it was talking to you. I watched that group chat too very good BTW! Dorked had a good point with Kris having issue with dess disappearance and the piano is his way of coping. Furthermore after mentioning the voice possibly being connected to dess speaking to Kris inside a void, if that's her, then does this mean the roaring knight if likely not Dess?
I personally think that the Shadow Crystals, once put together, will create a Shadow Mirror since these cristals are glass in the Light World. And it makes sense since in the Light World they're glass that reflects things, but also seem to reflect on events or something like that, like when Kris saw Susie through the crystal. And in the Dark World, they're the exact opposite. They have no reflection. As Seam tells us, you can barely see them. I think that the Shadow Mirror will make Kris see the player in his reflection, and be separated from them for the best ending if you got all Shadow Crystals. Not a theory I strongly believe in, but the link with Dess might be that she's trapped behind the Shadow Mirror (no link to the player then), and putting it back together will allow Dess to escape the place she's trapped into, once again for the best ending.
Yeah that seems like the most logical theory, I also believe that maybe Dess can be found in the Dark world, she does mention how dark it is, so maybe she’s connected with Gaster somehow?
My bad. I'm french and I still have a bit of trouble with remembering to use gender neutral pronouns since it didn't exist in french since very recently.
Not sure if anyone has commented this yet but some unused chapter 2 filles, there a lines of dialogue saying : "No one can hear me, can they...? I guess not. To be honest, I'm not even sure if I can hear myself. It's so quiet here... ...and yet, sometimes, I swear I hear something... Something like... Scratching?"
That's also one of the main reasons I think Dess is still alive. If the "person lost in the code" dialogue (which, as you say, updated in chapter 2) and the strange dialogue from Spamton is connected to Dess, it feels like it's something that didn't happen in the past.
this also presents a possible connection with why kris is opening the dark fountains, if dess is trapped in one they might be opening them to try and find her
I kinda hope so as I like this idea that Kris is in fact not opening up these dark fountains for bad reasons but actually for good reasons, tbh Chapter 2 shows how much opening a dark fountain helps and makes darkners happy which basically already makes what Kris is doing not seem so bad
I actually assumed that Kris was involved in Dess's disappearance from the start, mostly because it hits all the narrative beats. They hung out with Dress and Noelle constantly, but not anymore? Why? Perhaps something really bad happened? They all hung out near the creepy bunker which seemingly doesn't open? But then some other kids remark that Kris seems to think the bunker is dangerous or something? Noelle doesn't seem to remember anything, however. Maybe she is repressing memories? Queen said she had already awakened too much in the Snowgrave Route. And the bit where Noelle says " So much snow, I couldn't see anything." always seemed a bit disconnected from the rest of the dialogue in that scene to me. All the ingredients are there is what I'm saying.
I feel that the lost girl song variants not only refer to the fact that Dess is missing but that Noelle feels lost in a world where she has very little control over the passing situations and doesn’t know who to trust after losing a person she felt the safest around.
Neat analysis video. Noting how Spamton speaks about it & indicates a potential connection is a neat detail! Thanks for uploading! Thinking on it briefly, I wonder if Dess is going to a focus in a very late chapter; She seems to be in somewhere dark & empty, even by Dark World standards AND she's a friend of Asriel, who's coming home at the end of the week. If Asriel doesn't already know, wouldn't he wonder where Dess is & want to search for whom he used to hang out with?
I have seen theories about Noelle become the Angel whose heaven will will banish in a later chapter, but after this theory I am starting to wonder if Dess will be the angel instead, driven to insanity by being trapped
I think the person in the code is Asriel, for one small strange reason. During the spamton sweepstakes, a donation message (that wasn't from someone actually donating, someone checked) with the name Asriel showed up And what it said was very similar to the voice in the code's stuff. I don't remember exactly but whatever I'm not the theory person here. I'm bad at this
Okay but we have to ask the real question here: _Who put "December" in the spelling bee? Who just put the name of one of the contestant's possibly dead/missing sister into the pool of words?_
I think dess holiday is the Angels heaven? Because Noel has so many connections to an angel that might mean that Des also does and the puppet scarf is when all of spamtons strings are cut. It was dess guitar this would also explain her disappearance because now she is either inside or making dark worlds
Anyway that one of the delta cast members post a video, it makes my day! And I love all the new info about Dess. Very interesting breakdown, and thoughts on this. I really hope we can do some glitch hunting kinda of things to find Dess in the future
If Kris feels guilty about Dess's disappearances that could explain why they are so afraid of Spamton (other than the obviously dangerous individual in front of them while all of this is going down). Kris doesn't get nearly as scared of Jevil. They literally heard their childhood friend's voice calling out to them from the dark.
I just realize something when Spanton calls out for help it’s extremely possible that Jevil could’ve said a line similar to us, as the only way we noticed that the line was different for spamton was because of his text pattern changed
I have a theory about dess. When she is saying that’s it’s so dark and stuff what if she went missing in another dark world and in a later chapter we look for her or maybe for the tv setting of chapter 3 we go to a true crime show area looking for dess.
A few days ago, a sinister theory came to mind. What if one of Kris, Noelle, Dess and Asriel's sleepover ended really badly, causing Dess' death/disappearance? They all loved to do/explore creepy things/places so one of the times they did something like that could be the reason of her disappearance? Either she died like that, or maybe she didn't die, but rather they accidentally pushed Dess into a previously open Dark World without knowing what it was, ending in her being trapped once the fountain closed itself? That would explain why Noelle stuttered so much when she had to spell the word December, although I don't know why she would search her name over and over again on the internet. Idk, thought it might be possible, even though it's very unlikely as another game has the exact same story.
Spamton has said multiple times they are being or controlled or controlling, so is spamton the dark world look of dess, and then he started controlling her? Also, I don’t mean good old normal spamton, I mean NEO. That form of spamton is tall and slinder, fitting dess perfectly. By the way thr smiley face in the teacup room of the basement might be a resemblance of her going insane like jevil, having no freedom.
Idk where else to put this but a motif I’ve noticed in this franchise that people don’t mention too often is remembering the past. There’s 3 songs specifically that reference it and each one is pretty important (memory from undertale, flashback at the end of snowgrave, and don’t forget).
I don't think we can rule out the "you" Spamton says as being the Player, as Spamton _is_ acutely aware of the fact that Kris is a "heart on a chain", and definitely had that bond of both being puppets in a way.
Spamtom's static message sounding like Dess could be the reason why Kris gets so frustrated after his "strings" get "cut". Maybe they missed Dess too and have been looking for her across the time loop, only to immediately lose track of the single hint they came across... Also I firmly believe Dess has been missing for so long that Asgore got fired by the mayor because he suggested to finally classify her case as a cold one... Edit: I just realized there's a _secret door_ that opens up by _playing a piano_ in Waterfall. Maybe Kris remembers something about Dess through the time loops. Something important, that could be unlocked by remembering a song. A song they're _not supposed to forget,_ about someone who's stuck _in the dark._ Has anyone tried to look for leitmotifs between Skies Forever Blue, Don't Forget, Lost Girl and Find Her? I bet they all have something in common.
I think Dess could play a huge role in a future chapter, maybe as said in the video as something along the "freedom" motif in the two we have now. Her being "lost in the dark" could tie in absolutely perfectly with Kris opening the door to the outside in chapter 2. If they DO know something about what happened to Dess, they could be trying to spread the darkness outward so she can find her way home. I was unsure if gaster had anything to do with deltarune but the more i see the more its definitely a possibility that hes part of whats going on. Another thing that could be the source of where Dess wound up is the bunker on the outskirts of Hometown. in chapter 2 monster kid and snowdrake are there acting like its some sort of local legend, and with the possibility of Dess being lost somewhere very very dark, the bunker is a likely candidate for where she could have gone. knowing how toby's writing is almost always spot on, i doubt he would have two risk-seeking teenagers just go out to a bunker in the woods just for the hell of it. Another thing i noticed is that there seems to be some connectivity between the dark world(s) and the light worlds. in the sweepstakes event (i think this was said in another video here), noelle had experiences with someone online with a very similar manner to spamton. this combined with ralseis ability to traverse dark worlds, his complete awareness of the light world, and queens knowledge of their confinement in the computer lab open the door to a possibility that some form of a dark world or being is the main thing behind Dess' absence, and that spamtons glitchy , virus-like manner acts as a punched hole between wherever she is and spamton for her to speak through. I think the phone in the disintegrating dark background of his shop is a very very likely metaphor for this. Dess trapped god knows where in some very dark place, but with Mr. G. Spamton acting as a way for her to cry out. also the fact that noelle and dess were a huge part of the *spamton* sweepstakes is telling. My personal theory is that Dess is lost in the void from the beginning of the game. I would say a dark world, but if she was it wouldnt just be plain "dark", and would inhabit some area with dark world denizens in it. I believe that she somehow entered the bunker and never made it back out. This could be a very far stretch, but its possible that Dess could even be the knight. Queen says that with enough determination, a lightner can create a dark fountain. If Dess was trapped somewhere between worlds, would she not want to do anything in her power to get out? That could explain why there was a dark fountain in the closet and the library with seemingly nobody there making them, and in locations she would or would have frequented. Dess must have been close to highschool age when she disappeared due to the fact that kris could have witnessed it as a child, and with the holiday's academic emphasis she would definitely go to the library too. Another place people seem to think a dark world could open is the church, and we know from rudy that theyre religious too. her being the knight doesnt have much to stand on, but i do firmly believe she isnt a normal run of the mill missing person, and that she accidentally stumbled apon something or someone that could be the crux of the main story itself this has been a textwall, dad out
I always just thought that was Spamton having a moment of clarity (both mentally and verbally) before snapping back into insanity, especially since he mentions Mike first in normally capitalized text. He also talks like this in a line or two of his normal route NEO fight, as well as when you beat him, most of all these being instances of him slipping back into lucidity/some amount of sanity/however you want to say it.
I bet it may be her who sings the song since we never see her once in chapter one or two. But the part witch shows the text in the code makes me believe that we would have to find a glitching portal in one of the future chapters.
"Don't forget," "I'm with you in the dark." In the dark? This leads your theory even further! Somebody else said that Dess might be the one singing the song at the end of each chapter. If that is right, then this might be even more proof!
I think the person that comes through in Spamton's dialog IS THE REAL SPAMTON from before Gaster made him insane and that he is the one in the Dark asking for help is Spamton's soul which was stolen by Gaster as part of the deal that made Spamton insane which is why Spamton wants a soul, because he lost his a long long time ago
6:18 The only ones present are Spamton, Kris *and the player* - I think that's a pretty large thing to overlook, considering Ralsei keeps trying to tell Kris things without us knowing, by having us cut away to another scene.. I find it easy to imagine Spamton would know that we're there!
1Find her.mp4 could mean find her body. 2What if dess holiday is actually a goner 3Lost girl can be theme of both holiday sisters. Dess literally lost across time and space and Noelle lost not literally but in more psychological way .
Probably mentioned in the comments, but I think her disappearance has a segway into why Toriel and Asgore split as well. Maybe he (since he was a former policeman, probably chief?) called off the search after so long and Toriel lost faith in him giving up on family friends like that, causing the split. Wonder if we'll get some interplay on that in ch 3.
6:18 Spamton, Kris, _and_ the player “Rules out any possibility that spamton is talking about the player” No it doesn’t- There’s a lot of stuff you say in this video that you’re way too sure about
hold up..when you go to spamtons shop, and there is a *GREY DOOR* noelle says its kind of nostalgic. where do you find gaster in undertale? BEHIND A GREY DOOR. so,maybe a grey door appeared and dess opend it,then fell into the place where we create the vessel. the void, and yea it just adds on to my other theory below
@@ahmadsab_ Well, Like Mystic said, Jevil & Spamton (and as well as the Ch. 3, 4, & 5 Secret Bosses) wanted freedom and they all went insane, and I believe the same will happen to Dess.
@@Jadinite-2006 you're right, but every secret boss so far has been a darkner (unless you count wierd route berdly as a secret boss), we cant really be 100% sure with a sample size of 2
@@Jadinite-2006 She could be the angel in the prophecy instead of Noelle. Think about it, the angel's heaven is banished by *sealing* dark fountains. Dess, if we go with the theory that she's the voice in the code, is also sealed in what seems to be a dark world, or maybe in the bunker in the forest, as Ralsei hasn't felt any other fountains (in this theory, Ralsei is keeping things secret, but he's not Asriel or malicious in any way istg). Her connection with spamton is also interesting, as he has [Angel] brackets when you buy the ThornRing, in Snowgrave, the only time you encounter him with Noelle in your party. The pink addison calling Noelle angel, though, could disprove my theory, but it can easily be rectified through the fact that Noelle and Dess could have shared an IP before Dess disappeared, and shop websites don't recommend products based on the individual, but the IP. Asriel has a computer, so why wouldn't the Holidays? Noelle's mother IS currently Mayor in this timeline, so why not?
Your comparisons between Dess and the secret bosses make me think that Dess will become a secret boss in a future chapter. Though I think it will be late in the game, because Dess is being set up as an ongoing mystery, and 'finding her' is a current task. Also, that creepy smile you animated on Dess' sprite freaked me out. Great video!
The story goes dess and kris go exploring in the bunker when kris was still Younge and dess fell on a edge and was begging kris to pull her up but there was voices laughing which scared kris and Dess fell into darkness and kris ran out which caused police to come and other things happening.
I think Dess may have walked through the locked doors at the bottom of town, and Kris watched. This would explain why Monster Kid and Snowdrake say Kris warned everyone to not go in.
I really want every Deltarune theory to be true at the same time. Mostly because a DR sitcom about Gaster, the vessel, Dess, and Chara hanging out in the void would be gold
what if we meet dess as a secret boss in one of the future chapters? it would be so heartwrenching to see kris's and noelle's reaction plus be really sad
I'm seriously hoping that Dess is just lost in one of the dark worlds we'll encounter later but I for some reason get this vibe from Deltarune where it wouldn't be afraid to have something more messed up be Dess's fate especially considering Chapter 2 showed us that a dark route is in fact possible
@MysticSlime One thing that always struck me with Spamton was FORCE decisions. Either that accepting the deal where he says he won't force you in his base form battle and in the Neo fight where he keeps repeating that during his last moments. Granted I can see some counterpoints such as the WRONG [enlargement] effect where you can't backed up. Despite everything Spamton cannot force you to do anything, and most of the time encourages you to make the choice even if you turn that down. (although he has tendency to lying and being delusional) However what if in order to obtain something Kris/player has to FORCE to make choices? With that I don't mean the phrase your choices don't matter or the whole Susie can resist the Player input. I belive those are 2 different things yet similar. Pipis route is a similar concept, you Force (Noelle) in doing something (I refer especially on the choices where we don't exactly see (black screen)) , but at the end of the day it somewhat doesn't matter since the ending is the "same" aka Kris seals the fountain (I get it that there are few differences). Similar in undertale an example of Force decision is before and during final strike to sans in genoside route or but it refused while dying against asriel. I have the feeling the concept of FORCE decision might have an impact for Dess too. What if she or Kris in a desperate attempt are forcing through the game something that player choice could not do? Like guitar strings and snowgrave route, both rappresents something strong yet so thin and ready to snap (in snowgrave you can abort at any given point almost). It doesn't have to be necessarily evil/brute guitars strings are meant to be played for sound but can be evil in case of the puppet scarf. For dess perhaps in this way could have some Chara implications theme/guidance , especially since the force decisions are usually presented near the endings (and not necessarily the whole Chara evil resetting the world stuff). Also similar to Chara is Dead/missing and Dess is a friend to Asriel too. Also another thing I don't get it is why Kris let himself be SCAMMED by Spamton so easily unless..... he wanted to. I get it it could be just player choice, but on Kris PV aside the many similarity between him and spamton like you said in the video Kris perhaps is looking for Dess. Afterall In the first battle with spamton there are help line similar to his shop encounter which are not made by spamton. What if Kris heard Dess there too (since US the player cannot hear the differences). Or could it be simply by going after unusual enemies (spamton /jevil) to seek something otherwise impossible to find? What do you think about this little theory? Or do you think is just a overthought Toby baited moment/confusion over the premise of choice/freedom/ending in deltarune? Or perhaps I simply had an idea and I couldn't explain perfectly?
love the stuff about dess talking through spamton! i always thought that was a hint of spamtons sane self talking when he calls for help but i think dess is actually more likely!
I thought the mystery person talking through Spamton was Mike, another character that hasn't been revealed yet. I think whatever happened to Dess may have something to do with Asgore. There's a newspaper clipping in the police station that talks about Asgore's time as a police officer but Kris refuses to read it all. I don't know if that would mean Dess is alive but missing or Dess is dead and doesn't realize it.
December's disappearance could potentially answer a lot of questions. I think before the events of the game, Kris went into the shelter looking for Dess and possibly encountered Gaster, and maybe something about their meeting caused them to do what they keep doing whenever we're not in control. I think they slashed the tires in Chapter 2 and opened the Dark World to get the police looking for Dess. Maybe Gaster told them she was somewhere dark and told them about the Dark World.
I can get behind that. Given how long she's been lost and alone, she could have fallen victim to whatever corrupted Jevil and Spamton. The battle revolves around Dess unleashing her anger and sorrow at Kris while part her wants them to save her from her soul crushing loneliness and despair.
I think maybe Dess was somehow trapped in the darkness due to the Roaring (the thing that Ralsei says). Considering that Lightners would be “lost eternally in an endless night” sounds a lot like being trapped in the void, it could be that Kris and Dess opened up too many fountains, and Dess was trapped in the Roaring, while Kris somehow survived. Kris may feel survivor’s guilt, explaining his involvement and the whole piano thing.
It’d be a really interesting twist if you find dess only to realize it’s just her corpse. Something like that could finally be the thing that makes Noelle snap
I think the voice is speaking to US, the player via Spamton. The voice is in the game's code, and only we can read the code and hear the voice. This would also line up with what we know about Jevil as well. We know that Jevil went insane due to learning something, likely the fact that the world he's in is a game, and the same person (Gaster) is also the reason Spamton went insane. So Spamton would not only know the existence of us, but also the voice in the code, which is why he says "it sounds like it was talking to you" implying he's certain who the voice is talking to. If Spamton could determine that the voice was trying to talk to someone it's just as likely that he would know it's talking to the player. Adding to this, he looks DIRECTLY at the screen while he says that, as if to emphasize that he's speaking to us. This would also fit with Toby's initial message about secrets in Undertale too. He first told people not to spoil the secrets, however as with any big game it happened anyway. So the next logic of reason would be to make use of this fact, that people would dig through the game's code and reveal everything. He's basically making a meta easter egg hunt through the code itself. And by putting the exact line within the code to the game itself, he's trying to get the casual crowd that doesn't look at the code in on the hunt. Just think about it, how many important stuff have we learned about Deltarune via the code compared to Undertale? It's so much more than it was with Undertale. And since Toby wanted the secrets to stay secret in Undertale, yet he saw and directly reacted to it after it all leaked out, you'd think he would make sure NOTHING important is in the code this time. But it's the exact opposite, most of the Deltarune speculation and talk is about secret, meta stuff that we shouldn't know by just playing the game. So this time instead of asking people to not dig through stuff and reveal secrets, he takes advantage of the fact that we WILL do it and INTENTIONALLY hides stuff we should look at in the code, the voice being one of them. Now Spamton COULD just be talking to Kris and everything I've said could be nonsense, and I'm totally okay with that. Coming up with all these insane theories is the most fun part of being a Deltarune fan and one theory getting shut down is nothing compared to how many more it will lead to. But the fact that we've been getting so many hidden stuff after what Toby initially asked from us in Undertale really does feel weird to me, and I genuinely think that all of this is intentional and Toby is playing some 4D chess with us.
Really enjoyed the video, this is a little of topic but I just started another run of chapter 2 and got to sweet Cap'n cakes. I talked to them and noticed a line I overlooked that I thought might be alluding to gaster
Damn, when you mentioned that she is trapped just like the secret bosses, my brain just immeadietly just went: OMG DESS CHAPTER 7 SECRET BOSS CONFIRMED?!
I think Kris wanted to save Dess, but a monster, either ice-e (as meantioned in the sweepstakes), the roaring knight, or something else attacked Asriel, Kris, Noelle and Dess. Dess got lost during the confusion and Kris regrets not being able to save her. I think a lot of Kris's actions can be summerized by survivor's guilt and regret for not saving Dess and the fallout that happened afterwards that led to Asgore getting fired from the police and Toriel to divorce
In japanese the role language used for the text in the game files is childlike and matches with asriel's role language in Undertale, however deltarune Asriel is an adult and wouldn't speak so childishly
I'm all for Dess being a secret boss, probably for Chapter 7. Heck, she could even be a super secret boss that requires all Shadow Crystals, maybe even the one from Chapter 7 itself. I do feel worried about the fact that Snowgrave guarantees Chapter 2's Shadow Crystal, combined with Don't Forget's lyrics.
hm. yknow I always thought that was a sorta flash of lucidity from Spamton begging Kris for help. it could just be his speech and his overall vibes making me think he was insane enough for that, because it IS weird he refers to it in the third person. he could be at least sane enough to not, I feel like if he really wanted to really imply something to Kris he’d do it in his own weird roundabout way. Now the real question is how, how did Dess temporarily take control of Spamton? and why?? Guess everything is still up in the air-
If I may throw some wild conjecture, Kris could possibly be responsible for Dess's disappearance, accidentally at least. We know that Kris can open Dark Worlds at will. They didn't worry about opening one while Toriel and Susie were sleeping in the room. If Dess wound up in a Dark World because of Kris but didn't make it back out before the fountain closed, Kris would possibly harbour guilt about Dess going missing. Yet they can't tell anyone because nobody ever believes that the Dark Worlds are real. Maybe out of shame or as an act of penance, Kris stopped opening Dark Worlds for a long time. This might explain Kris's hesitation when the closet first opens in Chapter 1. It could also be why Ralsei's kingdom became a ghost town and King Spade accused the Lightners of abandoning his people. Now that Kris has journeyed through two Dark Worlds successfully, they're overcoming their trauma and now on a mission to find and save Dess.
Okay one important thing I'd like to point out is that, much like Gaster, Dess' real appearance hasn't actually been confirmed yet. Since she's the old sister people just took Noelle, made her taller, and gave her an older look. Because of that, I have two theories, one which could predict future events and other that could explain past events 1: Noelle and Dess are twin sisters. She said Dess was older, but not how much older. Might be just a few minutes. This could allow for a switcheroo mid game with the two, maybe you can kill Noelle snowgrave-style later in the game, but she comes back pretending nothing ever happened. That would be Dess. Or maybe the switcheroo has already happened and Dess wants to cover for her little sister at her expense, because she caused her disappearance of whatever. If the latter's true, maybe Kris knows that it's Dess but doesn't have the guts to tell her or they watched it all happen and are scared they're next. This wouldn't make much sense in the snowgrave route but I see Toby pulling a Schrodinger's cat/Zero Escape series and make it Noelle if you went for snowgrave, and Dess if you went for the normal route. And that would explain the different save files maybe? A bit of a stretch but oh well 2: Dess is a human. It would draw very interesting paralells with Kris and it ties nicely with another theory I have regarding the possible reason for her disappearance Kris was jealous that Dess was also close to Asriel so they pulled her apart from the group the night they went into the forest. They locked her in the bunker to teach her not to get too close to Asriel, that they're the only human that can be his friend. At first, they heard Dess banging on the door, begging to be let out, but she stopped after a few seconds. Kris got increasingly worried at the silence, so they opened the door and found nothing but darkness. This would explain their fear of the bunker, the messages in the game's code, and why it called out to Kris specifically Just a little something to think about
I have no evidence to back this up… but I think it would be cool if Dess was in a dark world in the bunker. Maybe it could’ve been made even before the closet one.
I was thinking that the world of Delta rune could represent a sort of experiment of gasters that is the one that he ends up falling into and in this void he ends up having some pieces of him falling into undertale but all the rest go into deltarune where he makes the bunker to try and find a way back and maybe dess even discovers this bunker when gaster's not around and falls through the void and is lost
This deserves more likes
Legend
@@guffthebir72 as you said dess could be the one in the horse stable which could mean dess is redacted thats a really good theory i gotta admit
What if that's why Kris has been trying to open more dark fountains? Because they know whose voice it is and they're trying to get to her?
I reached that same idea. That puts their motivation into better context.
Woah
I guess he’s not listening to I will not bow, because it says leave the lost & dead behind.
@@autistic_potato1037 Maybe closer to Chapter 4 now
Blind shot: Dess is definitely in the bunker. And there is a dark world inside. The bunker even have double doors. Every entrance to the dark world so far is double doored. And it's no coincidence because originally entrance to the part with computers in library was one door but then Toby Fox made it double door. Coincidence? I think NOT.
Omg I've never thought about that
@@takasimirecipe me too lol.
Dreemurr house has a normal door though.
@@deandelvin9924 WEEEEEELL.... maybe in chapter 3 it'll be a double door as well?
@@wscamel226 you typed an entire essay
Maybe Dess being trapped in "the dark" is the reason for why Kris is opening a fountain at the end of Chapter 2.
I'm not saying that IS going to happen BUT it just makes so much sense to me some much that I would bet on just that
I don’t think this but it would be cool if that bunker is the undertale underground
Plot twist the pie wasn't the only thing Kris cut
"find her"
*picture of guitar on screen*
dess was a guitar all along
Dess might be a secret boss in a later chapter. Think about it, it would be such a great plotline and an amazing fight also it would create a pattern for all the secret bosses(like spamton and jevil for realizing that they aren't free.)
It'd be interesting if dess was a secret boss. It would be more interesting if noelle fought alongside kris and susie (if ralsei gets temporarily removed from the party) and to see how neolle would react to seeing her older sister after a long time
Just imagine how noelle would feel to seeing her older sister as a secret boss in the darkworld.
And most importantly she's not a darkner
Jevil was actually free…?
@@nintunde5523 he wasnt truly free, he knew he wasnt, so he knew his actions had 0 consequences that's why he was "free".
Assuming she’s the one singing Don’t Forget, this could very well be the case.
Jevil and Spamton both have voice acted lines (I CAN DO ANYTHING! or NOW’S YOUR CHANCE TO BE A BIG SHOT!)
If Dess is singing Don’t Forget, her having a voice could be another connection to the other secret bosses
(someone brought this up in the replies of my comment, credits to them)
Dess has been a huge mystery so it's really difficult to be able to come to a stable theory. If anything it's incredible how you were able to put together one yourself
I like to think that Dess' disappearance is related to whatever incident occurred that caused Asgore to resign from the police force as police chief.
Yeah, and why toriel and asgore divorced in the deltarune timeline
I do think a strong connection between Kris and Dess from their childhoods is entirely possible!
I saw something once about how it’s possible Noelle took on a similar personality to Asriel (at least, the personality we see in Undertale) and in turn, Kris and Dess are similar in that sense. I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out Kris perhaps felt closer to Dess then to Asriel…
Or I’m wrong and Kris could simply feel a strong dislike towards Dess or something else. Either way, it would be interesting to learn about their relationship pre- Dess’s disappearance
yo that's actually a pretty cool theory, I hope it's true (or at least somewhat true). Kris is my favorite character, so any theory for Kris to have more friends is a good theory to me ^.^
well we do know asriel and noelle had some kind of relationship, so why not kris and dess
... *Dessappearance*
@@Sing_LoveWRS Wow nice pun you made.
Dess beat Kris with a baseball bat for scaring Noelle.
i don't think they like one another too much😐
Something just popped in my mind.
I just really really really want Noelle's mother to be Gyftrot.
That would be hilarious lmaooo

@@eater9494 You don't
my theory has always been this: Dess, Asriel, Noelle, & Kris went to explore the far side of town with the bunker. there was always lots of rumors & urban legends or whatever, & it looks like an OLD bunker, so ppl have been staying away from it. but going in? it's like a challenge. so they wanted to go & do it but Asriel & Noelle backed out- Noelle was scared & Asriel took her away.
Alright this comment just made me think of something so get ready for a bit of a stretch and me using Undertale as a reference
Remember in Undertale, how Flowey was created and why he resembled Asriel?
I think the same!
Yeah that seems like the most logical theory, I also believe that maybe Dess can be found in the Dark world, she does mention how dark it is, so maybe she’s connected with Gaster somehow?
Oh god I just looked back at the text and noticed you called Kris a male, good luck with the rest of the comments dude.
My bad. I'm french and I still have a bit of trouble with remembering to use gender neutral pronouns since it didn't exist in french since very recently.
If you get both crystals and give them to Sean he says he'd give you a ShadowRag but someone stole it
Not sure if anyone has commented this yet but some unused chapter 2 filles, there a lines of dialogue saying :
"No one can hear me, can they...?
During the spamton sweepstakes, a donation message (that wasn't from someone actually donating, someone checked) with the name Asriel showed up
And what it said was very similar to the voice in the code's stuff. I don't remember exactly but whatever
I'm not the theory person here. I'm bad at this
by that logic among us is canon to deltarune
@@thepinkcoin1512 SUSS
I mean I doubt this helps for this but I still find it weird that in Chapter 2 the Queen had a room specifically for Asriel
Smh Dess is obviously inside the eggs that Spamton EX gives us from behind the blue trees in chapter four and seven
Also in the Chapter 10X DLC
@@swampy725 no I think you're thinking of 10X pro in 10X he gives us the raygun
Correction, only the egg in chapter four. Chapter seven's egg however, obviously contains her memories.
Okay but we have to ask the real question here:
_Who put "December" in the spelling bee? Who just put the name of one of the contestant's possibly dead/missing sister into the pool of words?_
Yes
Berdly sabotaged the spelling bee on purpose so he could win.
Or it was Toriel accidentally triggering some trauma, oops is daisy.
Toby fox?
Or maybe it's "December" like the name of the month?
maybe that person didint know
I think dess holiday is the Angels heaven? Because Noel has so many connections to an angel that might mean that Des also does and the puppet scarf is when all of spamtons strings are cut. It was dess guitar this would also explain her disappearance because now she is either inside or making dark worlds
Anyway that one of the delta cast members post a video, it makes my day! And I love all the new info about Dess. Very interesting breakdown, and thoughts on this. I really hope we can do some glitch hunting kinda of things to find Dess in the future
Maybe this is the explanation for Kris still opening the fountain after Snowgrave - they have to find her.
If Kris feels guilty about Dess's disappearances that could explain why they are so afraid of Spamton (other than the obviously dangerous individual in front of them while all of this is going down). Kris doesn't get nearly as scared of Jevil. They literally heard their childhood friend's voice calling out to them from the dark.
what if gaster isnt in deltarune, and its all Dess?
What if DESS Is Deltarune's version of Gaster?
DESSTARUNE
youre aboslutley crazy but onto something
I just realize something when Spanton calls out for help it’s extremely possible that Jevil could’ve said a line similar to us, as the only way we noticed that the line was different for spamton was because of his text pattern changed
I have a theory about dess. When she is saying that’s it’s so dark and stuff what if she went missing in another dark world and in a later chapter we look for her or maybe for the tv setting of chapter 3 we go to a true crime show area looking for dess.
It could be possible that Dess was ‘killed’ in a dark world like Berdly was.
@@Jay-ys2cf yea maybe
Kris is the heart's chain though.
A song they're _not supposed to forget,_ about someone who's stuck _in the dark._
Has anyone tried to look for leitmotifs between Skies Forever Blue, Don't Forget, Lost Girl and Find Her?
Another place people seem to think a dark world could open is the church, and we know from rudy that theyre religious too. her being the knight doesnt have much to stand on, but i do firmly believe she isnt a normal run of the mill missing person, and that she accidentally stumbled apon something or someone that could be the crux of the main story itself
this has been a textwall, dad out
I always just thought that was Spamton having a moment of clarity (both mentally and verbally) before snapping back into insanity, especially since he mentions Mike first in normally capitalized text. He also talks like this in a line or two of his normal route NEO fight, as well as when you beat him, most of all these being instances of him slipping back into lucidity/some amount of sanity/however you want to say it.
Oh man, it’s a shame that Dess just up and dessappeared. Let’s look on the bright side though, she isn’t dessceased.
What a dessaster
dess nuts
Can't wait for Noelle just to say "Dess nuts"
BLEASE
I bet it may be her who sings the song since we never see her once in chapter one or two. But the part witch shows the text in the code makes me believe that we would have to find a glitching portal in one of the future chapters.
"Don't forget,"
"I'm with you in the dark."
In the dark? This leads your theory even further!
Somebody else said that Dess might be the one singing the song at the end of each chapter. If that is right, then this might be even more proof!
I think the person that comes through in Spamton's dialog IS THE REAL SPAMTON from before Gaster made him insane and that he is the one in the Dark asking for help is Spamton's soul which was stolen by Gaster as part of the deal that made Spamton insane which is why Spamton wants a soul, because he lost his a long long time ago
great theory, I've also thought something like this.
good theory (and btw I personally think the voice trapped in the dark is the vessel)
6:18 The only ones present are Spamton, Kris *and the player* - I think that's a pretty large thing to overlook, considering Ralsei keeps trying to tell Kris things without us knowing, by having us cut away to another scene.. I find it easy to imagine Spamton would know that we're there!
I don’t really know what it could mean but the piano as Kris and guitar as Dess is interesting
I think the bunker is involved. If nothing else, I feel like that's where chapter 7 is going to take place.
1Find her.mp4 could mean find her body.
2What if dess holiday is actually a goner
3Lost girl can be theme of both holiday sisters. Dess literally lost across time and space and Noelle lost not literally but in more psychological way .
I also have to mention that TV static (the one you see in spamton's eyes) is called snow
6:18
Spamton, Kris, _and_ the player
“Rules out any possibility that spamton is talking about the player” No it doesn’t-
There’s a lot of stuff you say in this video that you’re way too sure about
Convinced the whole main plot is about Kris trying to figure out how to get Dess back. And knows she was lost in the dark worlds.
I’m sure Dess is alive, just lost, maybe Kris trolled her
gET TROLLED! nOW YOU'RE StUCK FoREVER!!1!
hold up..when you go to spamtons shop, and there is a *GREY DOOR* noelle says its kind of nostalgic. where do you find gaster in undertale? BEHIND A GREY DOOR. so,maybe a grey door appeared and dess opend it,then fell into the place where we create the vessel. the void, and yea it just adds on to my other theory below
Do y'all think that Dess will be the Ch. 6 or 7 Secret Boss, like Jevil & Spamton?
Not really, although im not opposed to hearing more of why you think so
@@ahmadsab_ Well, Like Mystic said, Jevil & Spamton (and as well as the Ch. 3, 4, & 5 Secret Bosses) wanted freedom and they all went insane, and I believe the same will happen to Dess.
@@Jadinite-2006 you're right, but every secret boss so far has been a darkner (unless you count wierd route berdly as a secret boss), we cant really be 100% sure with a sample size of 2
@@ahmadsab_ I know, I can be wrong
1:24 - You should play there "Nows your chance to be a big shot" from the finale of spamton sweepstakes.
My Kris is always so quite because they feel guilty about something that happened to Dess that only Kris knows
You peered behind the tree...
There was a man standing there.
The story goes dess and kris go exploring in the bunker when kris was still Younge and dess fell on a edge and was begging kris to pull her up but there was voices laughing which scared kris and Dess fell into darkness and kris ran out which caused police to come and other things happening.
What if in 3:47 , in the telephone scene.. It isn't Dess but Suzy (from Undertale) ? What if there were a connection between the two in some way ?
I think Dess may have walked through the locked doors at the bottom of town, and Kris watched. This would explain why Monster Kid and Snowdrake say Kris warned everyone to not go in.
3:24 "it also seems to be linked back to Yaster" (i'm not picking on, i just think spelling errors can be funny in a good way)
I never connected how Spamton's "can anyone hear me?" could be Dess trying to reach out !!! That's genius, really enjoyed the video !! ((:
@MysticSlime
One thing that always struck me with Spamton was FORCE decisions.
(although he has tendency to lying and being delusional)
However what if in order to obtain something Kris/player has to FORCE to make choices?
I think the voice in the dark is your discarded vessel
Hmm...her desperation could lead to the same lack of sanity the other secret bosses have...
I can get behind that. Given how long she's been lost and alone, she could have fallen victim to whatever corrupted Jevil and Spamton. The battle revolves around Dess unleashing her anger and sorrow at Kris while part her wants them to save her from her soul crushing loneliness and despair.
This would be amazing
I think maybe Dess was somehow trapped in the darkness due to the Roaring (the thing that Ralsei says). Considering that Lightners would be “lost eternally in an endless night” sounds a lot like being trapped in the void, it could be that Kris and Dess opened up too many fountains, and Dess was trapped in the Roaring, while Kris somehow survived. Kris may feel survivor’s guilt, explaining his involvement and the whole piano thing.
2:37 All of Noelle's internet searches being December also proves that Dess is not dead.
no?
It’d be a really interesting twist if you find dess only to realize it’s just her corpse.
Something like that could finally be the thing that makes Noelle snap
DESS IS IN THE SOUP STORE BUYING CLOTHES
The answer is simple;
Dess went on holiday
Ahahhahahaa
Damn, when you mentioned that she is trapped just like the secret bosses, my brain just immeadietly just went:
OMG DESS CHAPTER 7 SECRET BOSS CONFIRMED?!
Now the real question is how, how did Dess temporarily take control of Spamton? and why?? Guess everything is still up in the air-
i’ve seen a lot of your videos, and your content is really good! I hope more people become BIG SHOTS!
Maybe spamton is like radio, inserting random words he "hears".
I just had a thought what if dess is the knight or is helping the knight/ working for them or maybe being held captive by them
This is a pretty good theory about her DESSappearance!
Okay one important thing I'd like to point out is that, much like Gaster, Dess' real appearance hasn't actually been confirmed yet. Since she's the old sister people just took Noelle, made her taller, and gave her an older look. Because of that, I have two theories, one which could predict future events and other that could explain past events
1: Noelle and Dess are twin sisters. A bit of a stretch but oh well
2: Dess is a human. It would draw very interesting paralells with Kris and it ties nicely with another theory I have regarding the possible reason for her disappearance
Kris was jealous that Dess was also close to Asriel so they pulled her apart from the group the night they went into the forest. This would explain their fear of the bunker, the messages in the game's code, and why it called out to Kris specifically
Just a little something to think about
I have no evidence to back this up… but I think it would be cool if Dess was in a dark world in the bunker. Maybe it could’ve been made even before the closet one.
The entire time I was watching this, I couldn't stop thinking about these two fanfics that I read that relate to this lmfao
2:10 remember that the song for Noelle’s room is called lost girl
What if dess is the one who discards vessel in chapter one? Like she was reminding kris of who he is
I was thinking that the world of Delta rune could represent a sort of experiment of gasters that is the one that he ends up falling into and in this void he ends up having some pieces of him falling into undertale but all the rest go into deltarune where he makes the bunker to try and find a way back and maybe dess even discovers this bunker when gaster's not around and falls through the void and is lost
