This was truly an excellent story. I think this is the first one that I feel like covers all the emotions and it makes sense within its plot. A true thanks to the writer and to the narrator of this story. The music was perfect. ❤

As always with Capt Bloods narration, hes the protectionist that plays the film conjured by the words that run through the big film screen in your mind. David Leibs story had so many facets, that have the capacity to Mean different things to every listener. It was melancholic but somehow not dreary or depressing but like a sad sweet refrain, it mingled & Sank into our psyche's & touched Something primitive but none the less, essential. Its kind of like, you understand yet cant explain, like the 3 characters in the story. Poor Capt Blood, not feeling so robust & ding a ling! but in his Below par state, he added something indefineable to this story! Even when poorly our Capt Blood still shines through & passes by the finishing post with panache! Hey! I never realise our favourite narrator here, also was this episodes artist! Wow im super impressed! A brilliant narrator full of piss & vinegar & an excellent artist too! When i was reading the blurp on this episode, it stated; Episode Artist - Drew Blood Well I never! Mm.. mmhmm. Yeah, this might do the trick. I’ve been looking high and low for something new to sink my teeth into, my general go-to’s in the RUclips audio fiction department have been feeling a little… eh, I don’t wanna say stale, but it feels to me like most of ‘em might be feeling a little burnt out, maybe? It’s a helluva grind if you’re tryin to do it for a living, so I understand why that would be and don’t hold it against anybody or anything, but my list of narrators that I truly enjoy who consistently practice their craft to a high a standard as I’m listening to right now is a very short list already. To me, most narrators sound like 13-year old 80s-movie-level nerdy kid with a bad head cold, and I poorly fitted braces tryin to read to me with a pair of hyper-thicc wool socks jammed in his mouth. Or a tin wall full of bees. Or else if not that, some other equally insufferable vocal eccentricity which invariably causes me to look elsewhere for my preferred entertainment. What I’m trying to say is, I just randomly stumbled in here without any prior knowledge of this channel a few minutes ago, and I already know this is going to be a staple in my already short (and shortening even further of late) list of listenable ( or even, consistently enjoyable) sources of fiction audio. CNot all vocal eccentricities are a bad thing. I could easily listen to whole books read like this quite happily. Y’all got my sub, friend. I didnt have to listen to more than 30 seconds once the actual story started to make that call. Im looking forward to this quite a bit.

I had an old crusty first sergeant that sounded like Drew Blood. Lol! Dude was a PTSD baked, raging alcoholic but surprisingly great & professional at his job😂 how tf he did it, and managed to stay married the entire 25 years he was in the Army, I have no clue lol! But I guess his wife figured, that a single woman with 6 kids doesn’t exactly make a great tinder profile😂😂😂. S/O to 1Sgt Marduk wherever he is. 🍻

I have a wonderful idea for a short story it's about a middle-aged woman, a widow who is alone in the world, living everyday in fear not knowing if she will keep being able to walk to and from the bathroom and the car and kitchen? Or is she going to succumb to the paralysis completely. Is she does die let Drew decide how it happens.
