Hi, glad you’re having a nice time :) The Kalemegdan monument overlooking the confluence is more often translated as “Victor” I presume. It was placed in 1928 to commemorate 10 years of victory in WWI. Originally meant to be in front (near) if hotel “Moskva” but the ladies of the time weren’t keen to look at naked man’s junk, so they placed him on Kalemegdan, facing open air :)
Pobednik (Victor) was built to commemorate Serbia's victory over Ottoman Empire and liberation after centuries of occupation. However before it was complete the First World War started by Austria declared war to Serbia and invaded, so when the monument was erected there it got double meaning. The monument was designed by Meštrović , but actually the first Serbian woman architect Jelisaveta Načić was in charge. According to her liberal plans the naked man was planned to be erected in city center, however conservative society wasn't happy with idea, so present location was selected instead

Denube, Danube, Dunav, Donau :) they all share the same root D*N and is Europe's 2nd longest river. It originates in the town of Donaueschingen, in the Black Forest of Germany. It exits into the Black sea from Romania/Ukraine. This name is cognate with other rivers in Europe: Don, Donets, Dniester, and Dunajec.
