I love videos like this , that aren't perfect; because it shows that not everything has to be perfect and look like it was made in a factory to get results. Which in-turn encourages more people to try, because they can do at least that good.
I like the way you put this video together. Very well done! Thank you for posting. Now I begin to understand wood gasification. It's not as complicated as some would have us believe. I bought a 100# propane tank today so I can start my own gasifier project. This is my kind of entertainment. Keep up the good work. : ) Kelly Marysville, WA - USA
Scoobyist, this is a great video, my family is heading down the Bio-mass digester path, but after watching your 3 videos, there is no reason not to have more than one form of "Self-Energy" - and don't listen to those who have nothing good to say about your videos - they rock! More people shoud get out and "Do" and not just sit and tell others they what they "think" is wrong with someone's work or video. I hope your Gasifier lasts you for many long years. Be well.
Some welding tips; 1) take of f those ear muffs! you need to hear the weld, It should sound like frying bacon. 2) you are building up way to much weld bead, turn up your heat and/or slow down your wire speed. Play with it until it sounds smoothly like frying bacon. 3) I suggest a hood glass that is dark enough that you can just barely make out things close to your weld bead. If you can see your hand and everything clearly, you may not be able to see the actual arc itself. too bright.
@Clarkview There is a [mute] button right next to the [play] button if you dont like Creed - you can even open another Tab and play "your" fav song while watching this video-I am sure that may of us have done that before. Scoobyist, this is a great video, my family is heading down the Bio-mass digester path, but after watching your 3 videos, there is no reason not to have more than one form of "Self-Energy" - and don't listen to those who have nothing good to say about your videos - they rock!
i see many people disliking the music or the spelling/grammar. just wanna say to the author that i find this a great video and i personally don't care hoots about the music or spelling/grammar as long as the information is presented clearly.
good video, I would have liked to seen more details about sizes and dimensions of components. This is an overall perspective of the build but I doubt anyone could use this to make their own.
ive seen others and I think the double barrel with an air gap of half inch between them to pre warm the air from one side to the other is better then the hot air goes straight up and off the top so it feeds its self
some people DO things. other criticize. nice work, spelling could be better..... but it is far more real than what 99% of your critics have fabricated !
Hi man, it seems awesome but could you explain it in a little more detail, please? I'm trying to build something like this but I can´t undestand your design. Could you share more info about it and upload a demonstration? I'm from Peru by the way and we need all the help we can get.
@MyThunder777 As Years are running by, i ended now up at a big company producing professional powerplants up to 25 MWel. Soo i learnd now to weld!! I'll show soon some new gasifiers! Not as bulky as that one!!
this is youtube. If you give them $1000 they will blame you for not giving them $10,000 I agree , very helpful info, thx .. I do agree though I had a hard time figuring out the drawings in the beginning.
Nice stuff Scooby. You ever think about methane digesters too? Mix up BioChar and Compost wastes and you have a nice topsoil as a waste from your energy production. Enough "Waste heat" generated overall to put to work distilling bad water or desalinating ocean water. :D (Pumping it around too)
@arnoldcustom thihi jup i learned alot with that one!! Now my welds are way better!! I build a new gasifier, but have to get the Video ready, before uploadin it!!
Very creative - and it works! But, please...I find it odd that someone who could a) design and build this gasifier and b) make drawings and publish this video - cannot SPELL to save his life...Just a thought: If it's worth publishing on RUclips (and this is), please get someone to help by spell checking and the basic grammar...cheers!
felix felix I agree. I used to be quite bad at that, and I still am occasionally, but it just means I had to spend a little time learning to watch my grammar. This falls under the same category as the comments on the welding I suppose. For such a cool design, this video discarded a lot of great potential by skipping the little things. I certainly enjoyed the video and respect the maker, but it's hard to do that when there are so many simple mistakes.
felix felix you are a real tit. Kindly go stuff yourself for being rude to man who gave you the gift of his knowledge for free. If you want to be constructive, contact him, work with him and you do the bloody drawings. Negative and ungrateful people like you annoy me.
@arnoldcustom Have you ever heard the saying "if you haven't got anything nice to say then don't say it" those of us who haven't had years of welding experience just give it a go mate!
Tar Free..meaning your intake valves dont get welded in place with wood tar when the engine cools? lol..Dammit.. Nice setup, I wish i could work with REAL METAL! Thanks for sharing-
The people complaining about not being able to follow because of grammar just demonstrate their own intellectual deficiency. Maybe he should write it out in crayon for them
@KesslersCross Sorry but I would never sell something like that, its not professional enough produced, also there's proper filtering and a engine with generator missing!! Sorry go for a GEK or some other youtubers!! Maybe in a few years I'm able to sell completete done Boxes with everything in, would be a dream coming true for me!! Greets
So what... it can be improved. Why wouldn't you instead, I don't know, offer words of encouragement? Constructive criticism helps people so much more but I guess the gratification that you have gotten from your comment outweighs the results of delivering advice in a more efficient way.
TakeOff BeatsInc Very well said and so true. It don't cost anything to encourage someone but it is very expensive to tear down a person, everyone suffers.
Joseph Maximus but his welds are horrible! He's making the Miller welder look like a piece of garbage. No hating about it. Nice design though, gave me some ideas... But seriously fine tune that welding skill and you wont be warping the living shit out of flat objects like that ring you welded. Maybe invest in a good hood, or buy a #8 shade for the one you have or something if your having trouble seeing the puddle...
Great design but cant stand creed and nickel backs voice its sounds horrible to my ears its so worn out from airplay over the years and depressing but love your heater mate
@arnoldcustom Arnold “Custom” From the shadows of anonymous chat text, a sad little man whispers words of ridicule for those he feels threatened by. Custom what? Maybe Mr. “Custom” would like to post a video showing the world that he has actually attained the status of supreme welding expert and has earned the right to offer constructive advise to others?
Grammar & Spelling Patrol here! You spelled "grammar" wrong! Your error reminds me of a woman boasting about how humble she is! However, the other part of your comment may have some merit.

Thanks for sharing your work - you have generosity that the world really needs!
Wow thanks for posting. So many haters who just sit on their butts criticizing others but never do anything themselves. Good job.

In welcher Ecke von Deutschland wohnt der Holzvergaser?

I think he is using the design from the wood gasifier builder's bible. I have the book. Never put it together though. Seems like a good design though.
@MyThunder777 As Years are running by, i ended now up at a big company producing professional powerplants up to 25 MWel. Soo i learnd now to weld!! I'll show soon some new gasifiers! Not as bulky as that one!!
@Scoobyist could use rivetted clips and high temp silicone...
how long did the pressure pot last?
thanks...i want to use this designe with elc generator ...this gsifire how many kw generatore run...please answer me
is it enugh for 25 kw generator
Are you going to build these for the public??
Actually Creed, not Nickleback. So does that mean you can now watch?
Is this a rock concert or a instruction video
Braucht man dafür auch einen Lüfter?
@Scoobyist use rivetted clips and high temp silicone...
of interest, hard to follow....air tight welds?, not a chance....odd that used mig yet some shots of weld showed slag
the slag is usually from flux core welding wire.
The diagrams are really hard to read and understand if you goal is to help other people reproduce what you did/are doing.
If You use lower current for welding, You would get less metal drops around the suture.
What is "warming pan string"??
День добрый скажите какой расход топлива? и выход газа?
@Scoobyist I think you should totally pursue that dream, if it is one of yours.
I would absolutely like to buy one from you as well!
With all that practice, I would expect you to be a much better welder. Looks like you need to turn up the current and slow down while laying a bead.
You got any videos from that?
hot or cool filtering!???
I think its all about hot gascleaning!!
What every gasifier system needs is a cheap and robust gas-cleaning.
We offer our patented filtration-free devices for the capable OEMs.
I want to know tat Back Ground Song ?
+numernine9 Thanku :)
Very hard to understand the negative comments... I think it was awesome and I learned a few things from it.so thank you for your time
this is youtube. If you give them $1000 they will blame you for not giving them $10,000

Just pictures and a song sound trouble is lurking around that idea of yours...
This is similar to the fema design. Good job.
isnt nickleback its creed doing the song with arms wide open
You made it it's good but as I know it's not possible tar free gasifier until u control moisture of fuel but this is very basic
what the heck was that about. where were the step by step instructions?
Why the naff music?
I cant get mine to work..........
Thanks for the video scoobyist and I agree that nobody needs the fema tar gasifier.
it would way better if you would use powerpoint to do your diagrams.
Just a quick thanks for the instruction.... good vid and music!
Heaps of work there!
tenho que ter sua ajuda
@arnoldcustom
thihi jup i learned alot with that one!!

Hater. You just had to empower. Yourself and correct him at something. Lol you like a dumbass. "Cheers"
You know they say Einstein could not tie his shoes but...
Shades shady No hope for humanity.

? those welds aren't even that bad for someone who is obviously not a professional welder.
sorry for the thumbs down but I hate instructional videos with music or other distracting noises. I would rather hear you explaining your ideas
I agree!!
I So AGREE
Yes.
Instructional videos should NOT have any distracting music.Just get to the point, and I dont care if the velding was bad
I also agree hope less music
@ushillbillies
Its scary!! but i improved my welding quite abit :D
@arnoldcustom
Have you ever heard the saying "if you haven't got anything nice to say then don't say it" those of us who haven't had years of welding experience just give it a go mate!
@KellyBtech
Nice, go for its definetly!
Not that hard as "they" always tell. The hard part is to keep it running 24/7 :D:D
Greets
Sorry. One look at those "welds" and I had to stop the video.
Tar Free..meaning your intake valves dont get welded in place with wood tar when the engine cools? lol..Dammit.. Nice setup, I wish i could work with REAL METAL! Thanks for sharing-
song BLOWS!
что это такое? дайте мне ответ
I like the Nikelbad why shouldnt like it???
nickel back is even worse talk about music thats had its ass worn out over the years
song goes good with that
I think that he does pretty good with English; considering that it doesn't seem to be his first language.
The welding looks scary
@Scoobyist Learn from others & practice..Ive been at it for over 40 years and still can pick up a trick or 2
Outstanding and thank you for sharing.
God bless you
I paused and stopped watching as soon as I unmuted my speakers and heard Creed.
No Creed please.
your a better man than I.. i cant even build that thing
Doesn't anybody know that was Creed?
The people complaining about not being able to follow because of grammar just demonstrate their own intellectual deficiency. Maybe he should write it out in crayon for them
music fail
nota azero para seu video ,porque esta mudo ,
don't you ever call those welds again
LOLOLOL. Not that I would do any better.
nice
@arnoldcustom Checked on you, do not see any welding there, bird shit or otherwise
I like the song but I would rather hear talking instead of loud musci, al
Whatever that noise was I stopped at 0:29 myself
Omg, please kill the tunes?
cold lap and the legs are bad your not eh welder lol but nice teck
I thought You tube was for videos, not slide shows !
@KesslersCross
Sorry but I would never sell something like that, its not professional enough produced, also there's proper filtering and a engine with generator missing!!
Sorry go for a GEK or some other youtubers!!
Maybe in a few years I'm able to sell completete done Boxes with everything in, would be a dream coming true for me!!

Guy ain't no fucking welder.
Very good! Thank you!
I don't force anybody too watch my videos, if you like electronic music check out:
Step by Step Tar Free Gasifier 2.0 ;)
You don't force anybody to watch YOURS videos but… YOU MISSLEAD EVERYBODY WITH THE TITLE OF THE VIDEO
OMG your weld is horrible!
So what... it can be improved. Why wouldn't you instead, I don't know, offer words of encouragement? Constructive criticism helps people so much more but I guess the gratification that you have gotten from your comment outweighs the results of delivering advice in a more efficient way.

Couldn't take the music
Well, at :40 I decided I couldn't take listening to Creed anymore.....
couldn't take the background music
Huh?
Thanks for this help
Great design but cant stand creed and nickel backs voice its sounds horrible to my ears its so worn out from airplay over the years and depressing but love your heater mate
was going to watch then nickleback kicked in!
ممتاز
Be a big help if you would take out the music and explain what you are doing. A waste of time to try to learn anything otherwise.
is that welding, looks more like bird shit
