Young Jordan was a mixture of Kevin Daley (former Harlem Globetrotter) and Jamal Crawford. What's weird is the behind the scenes video and the article about how they made the commercial only talks about Daley and doesn't show or mention J-Crossover at all. But we know Crawford was there cause he's talked about his experience making the commercial before so I don't really know how much was him and how much was Daley. It is a little confusing but it's possible they had multiple days on set filming or just happened to not get any behind the scenes footage with Crawford.

One massively overlooked part about this commercial is how much insane detail they went into involving how much MJ's game changed over time...
His younger self defends slightly farther away and gets burned again and again on shot and dribble pump fakes. His older self is always so close that his faces nearly touch (a strategy MJ used to block the opposing guard's vision), and does not go to the air on any jump shot or fake, even stripping the ball before the dribble or the shot can take place (i.e. "you gotta stay low," i.e. "the moment your weight shifts and your head goes up, that's when the ball is exposed and that's when I can steal it." A technique he learned several years into his career). His older self even made a block at the basket (a nod to the fact that MJ was famous on defense for helping even at the low post positions and blocking 7-footers! A little known fact about MJ is that he also *shattered* the career blocks record for a guard by over 200 blocks- he had almost 900 when the previous record didn't even reach 700- and his record stood for over two decades until Dwayne Wade finally beat it in 2019).
And even on offense, his younger self usually scores by beating him on the dribble, rising above him for a jump shot (i.e. he reads that his older self won't react to the jump to avoid getting pump faked and takes advantage), and he even hangs in the air and adjusts when he dunks it (i.e. I wish they'd shown him using that to avoid his older self's defense in at least one instance! That's what he was *really* famous for- his lone floating dunks were just a *reminder* of this ability- and what *really* earned him the nickname "Air Jordan." Others could launch far away from the hoop, but his ability to hang in the air for so long that he could physically almost float there for a second and adjust- a la throwing a midair pump fake, switching hands in the air, or even physically changing his momentum to another direction midair- like he was still on the ground was an iconic ability we'd never seen before! It was something that he steadily lost as his legs got older and couldn't elevate high enough to stay off the ground for long enough to change actions in midair) while his older self relies almost exclusively on fakes and the fadeaway (the shot he perfected over his career! Before MJ, the fadeaway was considered a "bad shot" in which your feet weren't set and you were shooting against your momentum, and it was only to be used in last second circumstances. MJ turned it into "just another regular shot" that he often used even when all other options including passing or dribbling were still available, making him nearly impossible to guard)!
The insane amount of detail they go into to perfectly capture MJ's game at both ages is incredible! They basically summed up his entire career's game and all its adjustments in one 1-minute video! Again, my only very minor gripe is that they only showed his younger self's "airness" on wide open dunks and didn't show his unique ability back then to adjust to and move around a defender while in midair!
What a well-researched and executed commercial! Bravo! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

I want to remind y'all that a 40 year old Jordan put up 51 points against Charlotte, then 43 the very next day.
He was also on pace to make a playoff run with the worst team in the league, while averaging 25+ 5 5 and being top 5 of the MVP ladder. Nobody in the league except Kobe averaged those numbers. His wizards days were overlooked bc of the knee injury that literally ended his career, but Jordan was carrying the worst team in the league to the playoffs without another all star (double check the all star one) and as a 40 year old. That's nuts

Thing is.... 23 year old MJ was by far and away the best player in the league, and honestly, looking back at it, probably already the greatest player of all time. Even tho the "legacy" was not cemented it was clear that Jordan by his third year would probably go down as one of, if not the greatest player of all time. At 23 years old Michael Jordan averaged 37 points per game.... 3 stelas per game, and 7 boards.... He scored over 3,000 points that year..... Larry Bird called him "God pretending to be Micheal Jordan".
Yeah. I love wizards MJ. But he, nor any guard/small forward ever, EVER, would have any chance in a 1 v 1 game against 23 year old Air Jordan. He would never lose a one on one game. It would never happen. Even prime Kobe or Lebron would get smoked.

You have to consider this: We're easily able to distinguish the CGI of the "young" Michael Jordan in this video, due to the restoration technology that we have today and can watch these old footages in high quality.
But then, you have to think that back in the day, when this commercial aired about 20 years ago, people watched this on their old TVs, where the image resolution was lower back then, I bet this was huge - absolutely huge for those that watched it the first time. Kids, teenagers and adults, everyone must've had their minds blown when they saw that an older MJ was competing against himself in this commercial.
This is material and marketing that I respect for his legacy as one of the greatest and inspiring players in the history of sports.
