Pretty necklace. But ,the outfit is still too plain. Needs something to create style.
I loved the way you styled a very simple black jean with the white button up and the surprising necklace. I love to add beautiful jewelry to very simple style. I also think you could throw on one of those leather jackets with the outfit and it would look super cool. I was glad for the suggestions on the two different types of leather jackets because my sister just gifted me a couple from her wardrobe when she was purging!

I’ve been shopping my closet for the last 6 months. Every Tuesday! Haha it’s my me time. It’s helped me understand what I have and don’t have. I have stuff I love but nothing that goes with it. Now when I feel like shopping it’s more directed to looking for something that goes with the articles of clothing that I would like to wear but need something specific to go with it, instead of just buying more random pieces. Color analysis also help a lot concerning keeping my closet streamline so I don’t have all kinds of color palettes that don’t mix and match.
Are you buying an outfit for those items?
I’m not sure I fully understand the question but for example: I have a skirt I bought years ago and never wore. I started trying it in with things I have in my closet. I found something I already owned that looks great with it but I didn’t have any shoes so I bought the perfect pair to put it all together. The were on clearance. Score!
I have a pair of silk Palazzo pants that I was struggling with and pulled a shirt out of a bag that I had set to go to thrift donation and I am adjusting and upgrading it *making it shorter and putting some elastic in the waist band and replacing the buttons, to make it the perfect match to the pants. I’m trying to be more conscious about what I buy and get rid of. It’s taken me long enough but it’s better late then never.
Not only did I find your tips helpful, but I found them different than other channels I have been recently viewing. You gave me a lot of ideas for an event I'm going to this week, and I really appreciate that!

I’ve been wearing a special occasion bracelet nonstop for the last two weeks or so and have no plans to take it off. It’s waterproof and hasn’t got caught on anything. Before that, it hadn’t seen the light of day for almost two decades.

Having to bundle up a lot lately, I've been mixing my classic/heritage winterwear with funky colorful homemade knits! Now that I think about it, it works so well because of the tension between, for example) the sensibleness of an old charcoal herringbone overcoat and the silliness of a fuzzy multicolor striped scarf and bright pink beret, but there is also harmony in the tension because both elements share a theme of warmth and coziness!
I’ve probably spent a few hours on You Tube trying to find clothes styling that I like.
Was about to give up when I found this.
You’re thinking about recycling rather than buying.
You’ve created some fun pairing but still retain a minimalist and stylish aesthetic.
And your style is ageless.

I’ve just retired so I’m into new grand babies at the moment. So not glamorous. This has given me middle of the road options. Going out, looking smart, hands free bags, layers. Thank you.

Hello Adeline! You shared some really good styling tips! I have a pearl necklace that I usually only wear for special occasions and how many of those are in one’s life? So, I’m going to take your advice and wear my necklace with casual outfits. I love that necklace so why not?! I also like the idea of pairing masculine (a structured blazer) with feminine (skirt or casual jeans). I’ve seen this fashion style tip on another channel but the pieces you wore were more suited to my style and personality. In closing, I get lazy 😮 and will combine the same old outfit pieces together. This video has inspired me to look at my pieces differently for some new, updated fall looks. Just discovered you, I like your style. My go to for making an outfit more interesting is a scarf especially here in Scotland in the winter! Also if I’m mixing weird colours it brings them together and makes it look more intentional. 😊
I love doing the weird color thing. I do kind of a geek “chic” thing where I’ll just wear whatever colors/patterns together that I feel like wearing and because in some cases it’s so mismatched it looks quirky. Or I’ll pick a common element between the patterns and make it flow a bit better.

Beautiful necklace! I wear 4 strands of pearls in different lengths with a button-down (especially a denim button-down) and it looks amazing. I like the top unbuttoned low and the pearls help cover me up. And they brighten your face. Lovely!

Thank you for your ideas! I'd like to add that the items need to be of a similar (pristine) quality for it to work. E.g. if the base cap was looking like it was worn a few times, maybe on a hike (getting sweaty and whatnot) it would certainly drag the fancy outfit down.

You just gotta tuck and make sure it's flat.
Sezane have another shirt called the tomboy (I own it too) - it is not as oversized as the Max shirt so less fabric that you need to tuck in xx

I see and appreciate the style ‘friction’ you are recommending here, but at my age (70+) it’s hard to make that leap. Sneakers and a skirt is about as far as I can go without worrying that I look ‘confused’. I guess I just need to ease into it.
I have already done these with my clothes and jewellery. I seem to need a few new skirts, tops and dresses. My wardrobe, is small.
