Installing AWE SwitchPath Exhaust on my Wife’s New Audi S3!

- Today is the day! Adding an upgraded exhaust to any sporty car is the best way to make it sound awesome! So that's what I did to my Wife's Audi S3! I made my wife's Audi S3 sound awesome by installing the AWE SwithPath catback exhaust! The S3 is a sporty car but just doesn't have too much exhaust sound. From factory there is an active valve that doesn't really make much of a difference. This new AWE SwitchPath exhaust sounds so good with no drove! I love just deep the growl is from the 4 cylinder turbo engine. It doesn't sound like a 4 banger anymore! Sounds crisp and muscular. Installing the AWE exhaust on the S3 was super simple. Only took a few minutes to remove the factory exhaust from the S3 and then putting together the new AWE exhaust was straight forward. Everything lined up well and it was super easy to adjust the exhaust tips for the perfect fitment! I love the black tips I went with on the S3 and they fill out the bumper well. Driving the S3 in comfort mode the valve stays closed to utilize the resonator muffler and keep the exhaust level very low and comfortable. Once hard on the gas in dynamic mode the valve is open and the turbo engine rips! I love the new sound and the cracks between shifts are so nice! Also did launch control in the S3 for the first time and this thing moves! Such a fun car and the AWE exhaust was the perfect upgrade for the exhaust modification!

can always use obdeleven to keep the valves open all the time, because they don’t open till after 3000rpm even in Dynamic.

NEVER get under the car while its only on the jack. Support the side you go under with pieces of hard wood or something else that wont get crushed under the weight.
That’s why I had jack stands under the car and blocks, those are all clearly shown.

i love the switchpath on my 2018 S3. although mine is the older one which has a larger muffler than the newer ones which have a mini muffler.
Oh nice! Great sounding system for sure! I bet they sound similar. Maybe just new muffler tech to make it weigh less.

@@BrosFOURRSpeed do you have the one with the square-ish muffler only on one side? mine is a full muffler. yours prob weighs 1/3 less than mine, maybe about equal to stock weight.

no, it sounds like your 2015 S3 because it had a factory resonator delete, there is absolutely no difference between your 2015 S3 and other years 8V S3's except the 2018+ has the better 7 speed DQ 381 dual clutch tranny.
@@volkssturm9694 yeah I found out mine is not stock, and it has the resonator delete. I was always suspicious because it sounded too good
@@volkssturm9694 Um it actually doesn't have a better gearbox thank you lmao, only difference is shorter ratios, the shifting speed and is the same but the 6 speed is stronger, hence why more people go for the pfl S3..

The 7 speed DQ381 is absolutely stronger than the older DQ250 6 speed .

Look it up yourself -
Dq381 can handle 30 ft/lbs more torque over the dq250
Plus the dq381 is much more refined
And efficient than the dq250.

I just recently came across your channel and I appreciate the step by step installation content. I picked up a 2022 A3 this summer and I am trying to decide which exhaust to go with, and this set up seems perfect. I would be curious to see what it sounds like after a stage 1tune.
Yeah it should sound a tad more aggressive with a tune. But sound won't really change much. Not sure if this exact system fits the A3 or not.

I had an S3 8V myself and in my honest opinion the MQB cars have some of the worst sounding motors. Probably due to the fact that the exhaust manifold is built into the head for these engines. I had a catless dp with a res delete at first. Then went full exhaust. After that it was decent at best. Was a fun car though.
Stock it’s nothing special. Now it’s a really proper sound. Certainly fun cars!
Meh honestly I like the Grunty sound it makes for being just a 4 banger certainly sounds better than the honda type r imo
totally subjective, the S3's beefed up 2.0T with the right exhaust set up to many actually sounds really good for a 4 banger turbo. I personally love how my S3 sounds with intake and factory resonator delete, nice and deep, throaty .
I love Audi's their design is just 👌. Mercs look the same, BMW has that lung grill😂 which I'm getting used to. But what I absolutely hate in Audi is the softlimiter. It doesn't let you rev past 3000rpm & sound so bad. An exhaust upgrade is definitely worth it. Also when you are tuning the car make sure you get rid of that softlimiter.

Stock downpipe. Intake is the only other performance mod so far
Once you get a down pipe on that car will sound like shit. Been there done that.
shit exhaust but if you get the V1 switch path it’s WAY better and no rasp on v1 AWE just cheaped out even though It’s a 2k exhaust
Idk, sounds great now. When I do a downpipe we’ll see. Can always try for a resonated downpipe to tone it down if needed

Don't drive with the panoramic roof cover open! The cover can get loose and it's an expensive repair
That makes no sense. You are able to drive with the cover open and nothing should happen to it! Is that what happened in yours? I’ve had many vehicles with a sunroof and you are able to have it open or closed just fine.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Mine is still fine luckily, but saw some cars woth the cover hanging loose. It's a cheap cloth/plasticy cover so with hard winds it can stretch or something
@@MauriceNL1 yeah I can see it flapping in the breeze quite a bit. Mines still nice and tight tho. But it’s such a cool feature to have the glass open and sunshade closed 😅
How much further can these tips stick out compared to stock exhaust? I have a 2020 s3 with a carbon diffuser and the stock exhaust looks goofy.. really interested in this exhaust setup
The way I have it setup, I could pull the tips about another inch out. So I think you'll be good! Just let us know if you want to make an order! These are made to order, so the sooner you get it in, the sooner they can build it! We are loving it!

Will this box fit in the car ?
I'm not sure. Maybe if you put the seats down and slide it through the doors. But worst case if you need to transport it in the car just unbox it and it'll all fit

Yeah that is stock. Air intake was the only other part on the car. Kit sounds so good!

You shouldn't have any issues. A dealer would have to prove this product caused an issue with the car. No possible way a catback exhaust can cause an issue. If you replaced the downpipe, since that takes away emissions items, you could run into issues. But not with a catback like this
