Yes this was the only thing I was interested in. My WRT1900ACS gets 941Mbits line-speed with SQM cake enabled. But I'd like to see a competitor, possibly at a lower price.
@@HexPortal that means linksys 1900 wrt can do around 1 Gbps with cake , so nanopi R2S should be able to do the same (Nano pi has ARM A53 chipset quard core cpu 1.5 Ghzs and 1 Gb ram)

@@warriorone8966 I had the R7800 too for a bit, but I remember getting higher speeds. Which OpenWrt version are you running? With 21.02 cake will be better due to the kernel implementation. Make sure to use cake+piece_of_cake. You could also try to use "besteffort" in the advanced options for ingress and egress queuing to squeeze a little more performance out of it.

One thing to try is as others said, SQM, but also, try iperf3 in --bidir mode, or two iperf running to each other across the router so you load up and downlink simultaneously, this is usually when you run into interesting bottlenecks. Not sure if the NICs in this supports Recieve side scaling, so might still be stuck with two cores loaded

- First thing, OpenWRT doesn't bond all of your WAN interfaces, even if you can setup 2 or 3 PPPoE connections and configured them with mwan3, the traffic will be load-balanced across all PPPoE connecton. For example, 100Mbps x 4 will be 100Mbps + 100Mbps + 100Mbps + 100Mbps, instead of 400Mbps. To x3 or x4 your bandwidth, you can try Mikrotik RouterOS with VRRP or EdgeOS from Ubiquiti. However, please note that it also depends on the service provider (RUclips, Netflix) if they support multiple session/connection from 1 user/IP. - Second thing, most of the internet service providers already applied fix for PPPoE connection and 1 account can only have 1 active PPPoE session.
I can't acces to the web interface. It ends up with a connection error and CMD (Admin): root@[ip] also ends up with the error, "Port 22: unknown error". I wonder if my device is faulty?

Hello, R4S and R4SE are 2 different product. You need to get the correct firmware, using a proper power supply in order to boot up the device. NanoPi is making good SBC and the community will also agree with me on this. If you have any problem, please contact your seller for warranty.

I have some problems, wrt from friendly company (kernel 5.15), and another one that I used taken from github (kernel 5.14), I have problems with firewall (restart required), DDNS service does not start. This image on the OpenWRT website, do I need to do something to the SD card? or when installing, will it recognize the 2GB card?
SQM smart Queue management , helps with bufferbloat which is result of high traffic in router ,one way to solve it is to have one seperate connection with router for you ( in case of gaming) ,as you are only user there is no traffic or bufferbloat , in other cases with one home router SQM with cake is best option👍.

I think your VPN test results are limited by VPN providers (or WAN link) but not a good measure of real throughput of the router. Can you setup a local VPN to get the good result?
OpenVPN does utilize only single core therefore around 200Mbps DL/UL is maximum for it. There is a perfect match (200Mbps ISP speed and also CPU speed for OpenVPN - I can see that from core #5 utilization at around 100%) so second limitation is barely visible. Wireguard can go 400Mbps as it is capable of utilizing all CPU cores
Please show us the Print Server Setup and use it from mobile without pc. We can do it with tplink firmwares eg. wdr 3600. Now i use openwrt. So show us a way.

My WRT1900AC(S) or WRT3200ACM gets gigabit speeds on OpenWrt, but only on 19.07 as with 21.02 the SQM is only single threaded. Then you'll only get around 700-750 Mbits.

Nanopi R2S can do SQM at 300 + Mbps with 40 percent cpu usage ( cake and piece of cake),not sure about 1 Gbps , can you please check this .
R4S has wifi signal output? And can it capture WFi input and send out WiFi output? Like the situation in a hotel or cafee shop?

Can the backplane handle 2Gbps for simultaneous WAN in/out of 1Gbps?
I believe this box has wire rate gbit interfaces. They didn't go the USB route.

I’d set up the card with the OS and direct all write activities to a high quality usb thumb drive.
