feels like the arena match rigging/hand “smoothing” has gotten better recently. Better at recognizing archetypes and effing you over

@@notcreative8325 agreed. every time i have been playing of late i have always been getting screwed by being 1 mana short for 3-4 turns or, i just play the 100% counter to my deck. like its obviously not rigged or wanting us to be kept at 50% win rate....
@@bakinfat i play merfolk in historic. It gets put against mainly rakdos or mono black control, green elves, white lifegain and mono red aggro. 3 of those are able to keep me from playing the game straight up most times while elves is waaayyy faster than merfolk so i basically guarenteed lose unless they brick and lifegain always gets their valc to keep them out of range
@@notcreative8325 i LOVE when I go to upgrade my deck and mitigate weakness and then when I queue up it's a completely different deck I've never faced before. Almost like the game adapted and recognized that i changed my deck
Control is dead in brawl, too. Every deck has Cavern, Halfling, etc.
Reprieve is the only decent answer to these, just buys you a turn

This deck should be playing reprieve over revitalize, and control needs 4 fields of ruin
I would use union of the third path.
@dedfoker no, even worse then revitalize. You need efficient time to stall while drawing, not life gain.
@@kiernanoh but what about fast aggro decks that beat you in 3 turns? While reprieve is useful you need to stay alive while you have a board wipe. Bouncing is the same as countering and sometimes you need the lifegain to remain on the game.
@@dedfoker taking your turn 3 off to gain like 3-5 life and draw a card is gonna kill you even quicker against aggro

I love when I make a reanimate deck and play every graveyard hate deck...or when I play for hours with one deck switch to a life gain deck and get put up against ever deck that won't let me gain life....even as far as mono red that had life gain hate....so much fun

outside of some of the obvious counter spells in arena Test Of Talents is one that if i want to run counters for instants and sorcery's that's one I like to use. its hard to pas up exiling 4 copies of a card for just countering one.

Why am I happy to see this and not happy at the same time? Glad to see counterspell decks suffering, but unhappy to see other people going through the same crap as me. you cannot build a deck good enough to win when arena says its not your turn to win.
You take 4 mana Teferi (well the 3 mana). 4 sunfalls, 4 farewells and you cast those on their turn.

I love control decks, and as far as I have seen the only archetypes that are prospering are "no wincon" control. It's the only archetype the algorithm doesn't know how to handle, after all they can't deny you your haymakers if you don't have any...

@@mcmarkmarkson7115 yeah but that's Wizards "you shouldn't be winning this much" universal F U for every deck and it's far more obvious than not giving the right card.
Another interesting thing is that they are printing less and less scry cards, when theros and kaldheim were in standard rotation there were enough scry and cycle cards to dig deep enough as to force the draw you wanted
flusterstorm is great for protecting your combo, not so good as a card in a deck that is trying to stop the opponent from doing things... unless of course they're playing storm, but then that's why you have a sideboard.

lol counterspells? Man, counterspells went out of fashion several expansions ago. You can try to rely on it, but it's not gonna work. Get rid of the blue, add some black. Removal is pretty important in the current day, and enchantment removal doubly so. White/green could be absolutely mopping up in this enchantment heavy environment, but not a lot of people run it. They still run creature removal, which is fine, long as you're not playing against creatureless.

This f matchmaking is absolute joke, any deck u made u are always matched against counter decks with perfect draws.
Except for games when you go below 50% winrate where you are countering your opponent's deck.
All this bs looks scripted from start to finish by algorithm.
Try my deck im updating this for years now, I managed to hit 11-1 strike with it recently few weeks ago at diamond.
I normally played 2x Authority of Consuls and 3x Get Lost, but I reduced it and added Case of the Lost Witness and Secret Randevous for more fun (if it doesnt work just reverse to original).
Dont be suprised by Gaea's Blessing in every starting hand before and after mulligan.
And when You draw 6-7 lands when You use Commit/Memory when You have a Narset on board, and there are last lands in Your entire deck...i saw this bs so many times :)))
