As always, interesting stuff and very useful jigs. Thank you.
thank you
I really like this approach. I'm wondering if all the pieces end up laminated in a quartersawn direction ?
They do if you begin with tangentially sawn stock; a specification that i adhere to religiously. However, a flat sawn neck is perfectly serviceable, especially if it's laminated.
How thick would you say the neck blank needs to be? Around 7/8 of an inch?
I mill my neck blanks to 3/4", +- 1/64".
Do you use similar woods in a laminated fashion for your classical necks, also?
I do. Of 145 guitars, I have made only two with solid necks.
