Thinking about it. Bucc is the only class that got a complete overhall. looking at every other class not much changed. they already had a pattern nexon was fine with. but with the removal of ST and the Energy System they were due for it.

I like that theory. As a Mihle main, lv241 I am very excited for the Cygnus Knight reveal. If they buff our mobbing we will be one of the most versatile classes imo.
Yeah, that is definitely the biggest rework in this patch. Man, they really dropped anime for serpents. I can respect that, but I can't respect that. Overall, I think this is a nice rework! It's sad that super saiyan mode is gone, but these changes make this class look fun to play!
I dont care if it has a up-jump now, or better mobbing or if the energy was removed. I loved this character because of its Super Sajan theme, kamehameha and Transformation was just wow, now this class has no theme at all, its just a class with blue/purple colored attacks that follow no theme at all. RIP bucc, it was fun.
Maybe this is a hot take, but the transformation sucked in every possible way. It didn't work mechanically because out of transformation made your class suck, so it just felt bad when it ended. It didn't work thematically because nothing made sense. Attacks didn't have consistent theming, and the transformation was just silly. And thirdly, the transformation is SUPPOSED to feel like an ultimate powerup in exchange for that downtime when you don't have it. The problem is... Buccs didn't have basically ANY burst to speak of. So... You suck when you're out of transformation form, and the transformation form wasn't *good.* This new rework fixes ALL of that. Consistent (IMO cool) theming, much better hitboxes in basically every scenario, they kept LOTD which is the skill every class DREAMS of having, AND they have real burst with meltdown now. It's nothing but a win. If you liked the transformation idea, that's fine. It sucks for those that liked it that it's going away. But trust me, the fact that it's going away is nothing but GOOD for this class. It will feel SO MUCH BETTER to play
Ironically, it didn't have a theme with the Super Saiyan, it was a mish-mash of different clashing themes. We had the saiyans, the serpents, we had some "pirate" stuff, etc. Now the class actually has a theme and it's based around water and sea serpents. I think it looks great.

nice! I had the same bucc since he was released, so I've seen all the changes. 4:30 it's sad that bucc became a short range character. They had the kamehameha for 5+ years and it was the best. Edit: The new skillset might have grown on me.
It's always been short range. The mobbing skill Hook Bomber, is actually better for mobbing as the vertical hitbox is increased, and it deals more damage.
Thunderbreaker was largely a clone of Buccaneer with a max level of 120 when they came out so now I guess Buccaneers will now largely be a clone of Thunderbreakers?
Everytime I look into playing this game I play and realise how much resources playing this game takes i wish nexon would make a legit oldschool maplestory server take it back to the old days
Same, I used to play when maplestory first time release. Very enjoy the game with friend and other online player. As well as enjoy party boss. Old maplestory is unique because all class got their unique skill such as thief got their flash jump skill.....now all class got flash jump. Or make the maplestory like genshin impact style.
The other versions stuck with Viper, so now the reason became apparent. I think I'm gonna use a third Explorer in the Arcane River once this update sees the light of day in both the English servers.
Just found this channel as I downloaded the game for the first time in over 8 years. I have a question for some experienced gamers: What is a good class (I’m on Kanna now) for somebody who likes damage from a distance (not warriors), high mobility (not needed but preferred) and does a lot of damage (I like when damage stacks go vertical, but idk if those truly deal the most damage anymore). I used to like the archer and rogue a lot, because mages were just not good damage dealers.
I think you should try out Pathfinder, Angelic Buster, Cadena, or Hoyoung. they are all high mobility, long range classes that are consistently high on DPS charts. Pathfinder and AB are reliable and easy to master, but Cadena and Hoyoung are more complicated to play but very rewarding.
What in the hell is this classes identity?? First it's a super Saiyan martial artist, then it's just a normal martial artist, then a dragon punchy guy with Ki blasts.. THEN back to the super Saiyan WITH dragon punchies or w/e.. NOW no super mode or Ki blasts but the punchies are.. purple now?? I swear there is an internal battle going on between two Devs lol

the only noticable nerfs i see buccs got includes the crit dmg buff going from 40% to 25%, and you can only get them when using the bossing skill so skill-effects wise the mobbing lost out on the crit dmg. and if you cant oneshot with LOTD or are unable to hit bosses in certain times, there is now the cooldown we have to deal with. everything else is pretty amazing tho, I definitely like the remaster overall. everything is subject to change but it would be nice if we can at least get the crit dmg buff while also mobbing and not just bossing. I'm excited for this upcoming summer.

I really love the color scheme and every single thing about this besides the full map attack with the ship, hopefully they change that cuz it doesn't fit

Nexon went from removing Buccaneer's super saiyan in the first revamp, to re-adding it in Bucc's hyper and 5th job skills, to removing it again in the latest revamp. lol The skill animations, while over the top look decent, and the serpent/dragon/leviathan theme is honestly cool. However, the extremely generic mobbing skills and passive management just kill the class for me.
Passives can be put on auto though :o Generic mobbing is just how it''s always been though :/ instead of a laser beam it is now a multiplatform mobbing skill atleast.
I wonder if they made changes to ping reliant skills such as mage's teleport. I don't play these classes mostly because of the extra delay I get from being far away from the server.

Correct me if I’m wrong, this class now has long duration cd for their skills. If it dies in bossing than some of their skills need sometime before it can be used again.
i've been seeing a lot of discussion about long cooldowns so here's what's going on assuming there isn't any changes in the upcoming balance patch. for LOTD, if you are unable to kill enough mobs/hit bosses enough times, then yes there is a cooldown we have to wait for. power unity was also reworked into a buff and if you die there is a cooldown to wait for if you don't have buff freezers. both of them are 60 secs, idk if its a lot for you. nearly every other skill that was reskinned and carried over from the old bucc skills remains the same, though. any skill/buff that had a cd before didn't have its length increased. howling fist retains its 90 sec cd and the new meltdown keeps its 180 sec cd as well, though the form can still last for 80 seconds max level and you can activate the orbs whenever you want within that time fwiw. again idk if these are okay with you. the new stimulating conversation hyper buff that reduces the water dragon passive cds by 50% does actually have a reduced duration from 120 seconds to 90 seconds, but it does have a lower cooldown from 240 seconds to 180 seconds. the length of waiting from the end of the buff's duration to the end of the cd was actually reduced from 120 seconds to 90 seconds. the water dragon attack passive skills that buccs use from now on that are received in 4th job have cds of 4 seconds and 7 seconds after they are activated, however they both share the 3 second cd of waiting to use any other water dragon skill. using the new stimulation conversation reduces those and LOTD's cooldowns to 2, 3.5, and 30. even without using the stimulating conversation, those cds arent that long at all, at least comparing to other classes. it allows us to trigger the assault skills much more frequent than without the hyper buff, but even without it, it isn't terrible at all. though definitions of long cd differ with others, at least when talking about bucc's cds its pretty good i think. I'm a bucc main fwiw.
To add on to Dom's comment: Steve tested on his stream where he was barely able to kill mobs, he had about 17s of downtime. This means for all practical purposes, one shotting, two shotting or whatever, maybe even three, the downtime penalty is not that bad. Even prior to this update you could expect your energy gauge to run out really fast similarly. For one shotting this is a buff. For bosses it doesn't run out (unless you die without buff freezer I suppose), but the uptime is 100% with it. Generally running any bosses anyway you'd want to have buff freezers otherwise you'd lose use-item buffs. Meltdown is still the same as it was, just with more damage on the orbs now, and it slows down on enemy contact which is a win. Stimulating Conversation is in much better shape now as it aligns with full burst.
@@marble8519 np. i feel like i should say that the only 'nerf' i recall buccs getting was the new power unity. the crit dmg buff went from 40% to 25%. the other 15% went to a passive skill, where you deal 15% additional crit dmg to monsters with status effects. the problem is that to gain the stacks we have to attack mobs that have the 20% fd debuff, but we can currently only apply them through our main bossing attack. pure mobbing and farming we lose that 25%, and the 15% against mobs with status effects doesn't mitigate at all when we are trying to one shot. still, overall the new bucc is still an easy class to play that got even easier and greater with this update. idk about other classes but buccs themselves are looking pretty great rn.
Can someone recommed some summoner type-esque classes beyond mechanic, been watching videos and the post rework/pre is confusing, seems like a lot changed and I just discovered this game? :P
Not much “summoner-types” mechanics in maple but you could try evan(dragon tamer), battle mage(summons a reaper), kanna(all her attacks are basically spirit summons)

@@viciouscaprilicous battle mage and Evan aren’t summoner classes in terms of play style, only in concept. The actual summoners are mechanics, corsairs, kanna, and Lara. Their summons are more like turrets than roaming summons. Beast tamer sort of summons too but it’s not the focus of the class.
When is this coming to mobile, I’m just back I played a lot as kid on my pc. But I really enjoy it really on my mobile at this mobile and I’m a demon slayer main. But this seeing this class remastered on RUclips I really think it fits my kinda playstyle! So I’ll be better train it already and when the remastered comes to mobile I have a strong character!

Can somebody tell me why CopperSerpent thinks bucc is about serpents?? They are clearly dragons, dragons every where cuz bucc was a Goku job and the dragon a reference to DBZ.
These revamps are overdoing it with some of the animations, makes it hard to see the character. It seems like these classes’ colors are becoming quite homogenous compared to knights of cygnus as well.
To be fair, didn't have all that much in common with a Saiyan either. In KMS the name for the class is "Viper" so maybe that might be why they chose this route?
I guess the connection with saiyan took inspiration from dragon ball z. But I really don't understand why they insist on adding something on the basic brawler idea 😂 deep down i always feel like explorers are the most basic and straight forward classes (concept wise) which is also why i love them so much. But to me it seems like bucc is always having a identity crisis.
Looks like they've completely ruined my main, messing with LoTD AGAIN and removing the super form just to have pointless serpents shoot out randomly as hell.... guess im now maining my kanna farmer. So annoying when all the other reworks so far look good to be honest, but they've completely ruined this one in my opinion.
Not a big fan of this revamp. The animations seem clunky in 4th job (which it already was I guess) but the removal of Super Saiyan and the Kamehameha is very disappointing. LOTD was also very iconic and it's sad to lose the spinning snake. If they were to make a dedicated fist fighting/CQC class like the buccaneer, I think they should've added fluidity and speed into the design instead of someone who just hits hard. Pirates are free, cunning and jolly - not clunky and sluggish
LOTD is still the game lmao, and is also better than it used to, removing energy system imo is good class felt like shit without energy, bucc blast was dogshit for mobbing it literally was a waiting room till LOTD, i'd love to keep the transform at least in the blue form like used to in 3rd job tho
they really went away from the whole dbz vibe.. also, kind of sucks that not only did every other job pretty much get NL's flashjump theirs isn't even the one that jumps the farthest anymore

Seems like you do purple attacks that trigger blue "serpent" attacks after a certain amount of hits or time has elapsed, in essence.

But wasnt the pirate dash+jump thing always there? It was a fairly strict timing but I used to do that often when I played buccaneer around a year ago.
After they added advanced dash, they made it keybindable in a later patch, making it much easier to use.

Correct me if I’m wrong, this class now has long duration cd for their skills. If it dies in bossing than some of their skills need sometime before it can be used again.
The cooldown times are largely unchanged from what it originally was.
i've been seeing a lot of discussion about long cooldowns so here's what's going on assuming there isn't any changes in the upcoming balance patch. for LOTD, if you are unable to kill enough mobs/hit bosses enough times, then yes there is a cooldown we have to wait for. power unity was also reworked into a buff and if you die there is a cooldown to wait for if you don't have buff freezers. both of them are 60 secs, idk if its a lot for you.
nearly every other skill that was reskinned and carried over from the old bucc skills remains the same, though. any skill/buff that had a cd before didn't have its length increased. howling fist retains its 90 sec cd and the new meltdown keeps its 180 sec cd as well, though the form can still last for 80 seconds max level and you can activate the orbs whenever you want within that time fwiw. again idk if these are okay with you.
the new stimulating conversation hyper buff that reduces the water dragon passive cds by 50% does actually have a reduced duration from 120 seconds to 90 seconds, but it does have a lower cooldown from 240 seconds to 180 seconds. the length of waiting from the end of the buff's duration to the end of the cd was actually reduced from 120 seconds to 90 seconds.
the water dragon attack passive skills that buccs use from now on that are received in 4th job have cds of 4 seconds and 7 seconds after they are activated, however they both share the 3 second cd of waiting to use any other water dragon skill. using the new stimulation conversation reduces those and LOTD's cooldowns to 2, 3.5, and 30. even without using the stimulating conversation, those cds arent that long at all, at least comparing to other classes. it allows us to trigger the assault skills much more frequent than without the hyper buff, but even without it, it isn't terrible at all. though definitions of long cd differ with others, at least when talking about bucc's cds its pretty good i think. I'm a bucc main fwiw.

Steve tested on his stream where he was barely able to kill mobs, he had about 17s of downtime. This means for all practical purposes, one shotting, two shotting or whatever, maybe even three, the downtime penalty is not that bad. Even prior to this update you could expect your energy gauge to run out really fast similarly. For one shotting this is a buff. For bosses it doesn't run out (unless you die without buff freezer I suppose), but the uptime is 100% with it. Generally running any bosses anyway you'd want to have buff freezers otherwise you'd lose use-item buffs.
Meltdown is still the same as it was, just with more damage on the orbs now, and it slows down on enemy contact which is a win.
Stimulating Conversation is in much better shape now as it aligns with full burst.
@@marble8519 np. i feel like i should say that the only 'nerf' i recall buccs getting was the new power unity. the crit dmg buff went from 40% to 25%. the other 15% went to a passive skill, where you deal 15% additional crit dmg to monsters with status effects. the problem is that to gain the stacks we have to attack mobs that have the 20% fd debuff, but we can currently only apply them through our main bossing attack. pure mobbing and farming we lose that 25%, and the 15% against mobs with status effects doesn't mitigate at all when we are trying to one shot.
still, overall the new bucc is still an easy class to play that got even easier and greater with this update. idk about other classes but buccs themselves are looking pretty great rn.
So, bucks revamp sounds like a Hero?

Corsair has a lot of summons :)
Not much “summoner-types” mechanics in maple but you could try evan(dragon tamer), battle mage(summons a reaper), kanna(all her attacks are basically spirit summons)

@@viciouscaprilicous battle mage and Evan aren’t summoner classes in terms of play style, only in concept. The actual summoners are mechanics, corsairs, kanna, and Lara. Their summons are more like turrets than roaming summons. Beast tamer sort of summons too but it’s not the focus of the class.

When is this coming to mobile, I’m just back I played a lot as kid on my pc. But I really enjoy it really on my mobile at this mobile and I’m a demon slayer main. But this seeing this class remastered on RUclips I really think it fits my kinda playstyle! So I’ll be better train it already and when the remastered comes to mobile I have a strong character!

These revamps are overdoing it with some of the animations, makes it hard to see the character.
It seems like these classes’ colors are becoming quite homogenous compared to knights of cygnus as well.

After so many years I still don't understand what a brawler that fights with fists has to do with a sea serpent. I miss the oldschool og maple bucc.
To be fair, didn't have all that much in common with a Saiyan either.
In KMS the name for the class is "Viper" so maybe that might be why they chose this route?
I guess the connection with saiyan took inspiration from dragon ball z. But I really don't understand why they insist on adding something on the basic brawler idea 😂 deep down i always feel like explorers are the most basic and straight forward classes (concept wise) which is also why i love them so much. But to me it seems like bucc is always having a identity crisis.

Looks like they've completely ruined my main, messing with LoTD AGAIN and removing the super form just to have pointless serpents shoot out randomly as hell.... guess im now maining my kanna farmer. So annoying when all the other reworks so far look good to be honest, but they've completely ruined this one in my opinion.
Lord of the Deep is largely unchanged and the uptime better in bossing and almost identical in mobbing unless you have trouble killing mobs. :x

Not a big fan of this revamp. The animations seem clunky in 4th job (which it already was I guess) but the removal of Super Saiyan and the Kamehameha is very disappointing. LOTD was also very iconic and it's sad to lose the spinning snake.
If they were to make a dedicated fist fighting/CQC class like the buccaneer, I think they should've added fluidity and speed into the design instead of someone who just hits hard. Pirates are free, cunning and jolly - not clunky and sluggish
LOTD is still the game lmao, and is also better than it used to, removing energy system imo is good class felt like shit without energy, bucc blast was dogshit for mobbing it literally was a waiting room till LOTD, i'd love to keep the transform at least in the blue form like used to in 3rd job tho

@@benmanisier LOTD has the exact same animation. it is still a toggle skill which activates a spinning snake going around you.
they really went away from the whole dbz vibe.. also, kind of sucks that not only did every other job pretty much get NL's flashjump theirs isn't even the one that jumps the farthest anymore
