Oh to be loved! Ruby and Honey so deserve the life they are living. I’m so proud of the way you take care of your family of animals.
Love your channel. Running out of things to go learn and then a few weeks and months ago ran into your channel. Life is good. I love learning and educating myself without all of the propaganda on mainstream channels. I turned my TV off years ago. 2018/2019 was enough for me to quit it. It is so obvious and my wife and I happily shop around knowing what is a good buy versus a bad buy versus a "hold on here, what do we have here?" moment. You cannot tell people what is going on in the times we are living in. You have to show them. Sad but true. The good thing is that we all will pop up in the end of this. Humanity does win. Sad that the general folk keep moving along being told what to do instead of using common sense and question what they are being told what to do. Love your channel.
What I really love about your channel is that you have more energy, more motivation, and are the absolute best at dealing with customers while being sympathetic and understanding of their plight. The mixture of an astute business man and someone who cares is all too rare...
I have seen cabinets like that in haberdashery shops, they would have rolls of material on glass shelves and use those brass dots on the edge to measure the fabric, love your shows, you have some fascinating items come in for sale and some great characters, thank you for sharing, you are very generous with your time, all the best from North Wales in the UK.
Man, I can't get enough of this channel. Been watching it every day for the last week. Love how you are with the pets, Peter! and the customers are always interesting.
I used to dislike pawn shops due to them seriously undercutting people's possessions anywhere from 50-80%, I know it's just "business" and people don't have to sell anything. But now that I have started my own business, I fully comprehend everything and anything it takes to make it happen. Thanks for the great content and bless you guys🎉
That's awesome the ice box with the counter, I live not to far from Sheboygan Wisconsin
Honey looks like she's loving the new display case
I think those markers are how they measured fabric and ribbons back in the day.
Interesting. Very good guess.
@@williamhoward77wh it's not a guess....that's how they did it....
@@williamhoward77wh 😉😊
Was about to say the same thing until I seen your comment 👍
Yes! Those should be 12 inches apart, and looks like they are. I also remember the old M.E. Moses Five and Dime store from my childhood that had counters marked like that because they sold some fabric and notions. I'm old
That old ice box is an awesome piece. And the new display case is just perfect for that spot. As for Honey, I guess you've decided to let her have that bed. A lot of us wrote in asking you to do that, including me. Much love to Honey and Ruby.
Those brass studs in your cabinet were probably used as a measuring device. They could have been used to measure anything from fabric to fish. Very cool old display. Love it.
That was my thought as well - I've seen stuff like this in fabric stores (maybe in the olden days...).
I was thinking the same thing, perhaps for a tailor of sorts. It's a bit odd to me tho that those are, on what basically is, a display counter..
I'll never tire of seeing Honey in her bed.
Vintage cabinet is gorgeous, too.
Grabbed myself one of those bottle openers
Love the new counter and the ice box. It looks great together. Thanks for sharing pete.
Now if you could only get some protective film for the top glass for your new case to protect it from scratching that would be a great idea, so that nice case you have now won't end up looking like your old cases.
Congratulations on the new improvements of the counter. They look absolutely awesome. Always nice to be able to do some changing in a store. I think it helps to draw more people, and it just looks like it has always belonged there. Love this channel, and much love to the whole staff. Doug from Moberly, MO
I am obsessed with your channel now and cant stop watching! So many things I want.. I see this is covid days.
I agree with Vickey let her dress up the case with old english.
The new display case looks great. It brings some warmth in the room, along with the old refrigerator.
The Metal studs on the Counter are for measuring Fabric :)
Looks great Pedro:)
But the boom box oh .....Peter..... Peter.......
Hahahaha, say hi to everybody:)
Hi!!!
Even an episode about new display cases i loved it, its about how real you guys are not mugging it up for the camera. Thank you !
Bro how do y’all not have millions of subscribers? As a matter of fact, how do y’all not have a TV show deal? This is so much more interesting than pawn stars was, and it’s so humble and I just love it. I’m gonna subscribe cause you and your family really deserve the support
A TV show more than likely would change a Ton of stuff the show would probably have a different feel to it
I believe the blocker on the track is so the door handle stays exposed when it's opened all the way. Otherwise the handle would be behind the other door.
Beautiful counter and ice box!
Honey and that bed, oh my..the cutest.
We have the exact antique cabinet in our museum in Lindstrom, Minnesota. The brass markers on top are for measuring cloth material. Be careful with the beveled glass tops..we had to replace one of ours that was broken cost $125. Fun to see another cabinet twin!!! Great find Pete.
I am from Denmark Europe we have the same markers on a counter in my grandmothers cloth shop
The brass nubs are for measuring cloth etc
you better put a not for sale on that bunkbed, your kitty would be very upset of you sold it on her.
Some viewers of the channel have already bought the bed for Honey.
thats honeys throne
Your latest cabinets/counters reminded me of the ones I worked with and later sold on. Mine were mahogany and original glass plus shelf supports. I replaced interior shelves with glass thereby allowing more viewing access. Just a thought. Great job folks.
The new “old” display cabinet looks fantastic especially paired next to the old icebox👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻I enjoy seeing honey sleeping on her throne 🥰😂
Pete - The new display cabinet looks great! 👍
Shops looking great Pete!
I Luv the Circus Cat she is just perfect....gotta luv Ruby too she so wanted to be part of the new counter fun! ❤️
All the best from Scotland.
Awesome change Pete! The new Displays look Fabulous. You really have great Team by your side. The synergy is amazing. All my blessings to all. 💪🤓👍
Traditionally, markers on the counter top were used in measuring fabric for sale. These markers were commonly brass tacks which seems to fit in with what you have. This is said to be where the phrase "down to brass tacks" originates.
Totally love that new display case, it's downright classy!
I bet you that was used for Cigars. I have an old display case from the early 1900's made in Michigan for a Cigar Shop in Jamestown NY. The wood work and glass looks the same as mine except mine is half the size.
That old heater is beautiful!
The Barler kerosene heater that was unfortunately converted to a lamp WAS worth about $200 before the conversion. A heater collector will still buy it and convert it back...
The spacer in the track is so you don't lose the one door behind the other when you open it all the way.
Having done flea markets for over 40 years, you might want to introduce a color theme to your store. "Purple tables Paul" was my nickname. This color pulled people from 100 feet away to my tables. They always purchased something. It is considered a desirable color in retail backround, displays, and trims.
I think the brass dots are to brake string on. They look like old bakery cases. Bakery’s use to have hanging string holders over the cases to wrap the boxes.
Very cool and interesting seeing the vintage furniture. The cabbinate would look beautiful with even a minimal refinishing
A lot of comments about the buttons on top of the display cases- maybe for measuring. Measure between them. When fabric was sold- usually by the yard (thus the 1,2,3 "buttons") in the end it had to be measured and priced- That when we "get down to brass tacks" and come up with a price.
What a great display case! Perhaps the marks are for bolts of fabric to be rolled out on the counter and if a customer wanted 4 yards you would roll it out to the 4th mark? Anyway, have a great day!
Those stoppers on the one side are for when you open the inside door you can still close it back and not have it hidden by the front door. Great little piece of engineering for display cabinets like that.
Great new showcase Pete. I've slwsys liked those antique oak framed cases, and it dresses up the shop nicely.
17:10-17-25 Honey enjpying her new perch! If you put a hand written sign on the ice box, you will get interest. Some items "melt" into the surroundings. Learned that in a business class. I love when Honey and Ruby pick on each other a little bit. haha They are cute.
Looks great, rub some linseed oil on it. its clear and feeds the wood.
Beautiful display cases!!!!
Hope glass is strong. I had these same ones in my gun shop, with beveled glass. Need to protect top from scratches or dropped items by customers.
One day Ruby will start squawking "Wet Chicken, Wet Chicken" lol
Honey is so precious in the bunk bed :) Meow!
i think your new counter top is a haberdashers counter with the measure on the back edge for measuring off bolts of clothe
The tube on the top of the saw at 5:21 isn't for a bag. It is a vacuum hose hook up.
Nice case. I have bought and sold a few of these over the years. Great look. Those blacks are to keep humidity out of the case. Those pegs on top are to measure things quickly.
Hey, big fan of the channel here..and a bird/cat lover as well. I used to have a citron Cocatoo who rode on my shoulder when I rode my bike,,I was actually on TV with her. Anyway, I Sold an iPhone on eBay, been doing it for YEARS...a "buyer" who has a newer account and 4 feedbacks, claimed he received an empty box and eBay backed him up..so now I'm out almost $400. "buyer" would not send any proof or respond to any messages about the situation after opening the case... protect yourself sellers!!! I have a similar headache selling a high powered electric scooter to a zero feedback buyer with a newer account. I would think twice before sending any high value items on eBay to these types of "buyers"..eBay will not protect you..even if you follow all there rules.....
Those cabinets look Amazing in your shop. It really brightens the area up. Be careful with that glass. Some customers heave their items and they come down pretty hard. I sure would hate to see the glass break and someone get hurt.
Hello to all of your staff.
Hello to Ruby and Honey. I love watching those 2 interact .
Stay Safe
I think the Rockwell saw is called the blade runner. Try looking that up sir. Beautiful display case!
This is one of my new favorite channels. Im going to have to find where the shop is and make a trip!
It’s for measuring fabric. I had the same cabinet
Very nice cabinet! Only downfall is look where it's sitting. You need to do something with the floor.
lotta meat on da bone wit dis one
some laminant wood flooring would make your shop look really good
Looks great Pete. I would clear the white counter left of the register for heavy items being brought in to prevent damaging the beautiful vintage glass setting heavy items on it. Also, if you don't have any, I'd get some protective pads to keep from scratching the glass for other lightweight items being brought in. The old stuff is still the best!
I worked in a shop a lot like this one for a few years. Same old heavy glass counters. We set everything on them. They are very durable.
Looks great Pete , that ice box is one of a kind, very valuable, don’t sell that doll bed, your kiddy will be mad
I love the new cabinet! It looks much better & the rustic look is perfect! I don't think you can sell that bed, Honey has claimed it for good lol!
That change looks awesome. Those brass pins most likely were a measuring tool. The whole look really changes the look.
randon... the brass *pins* are for covers usually made of felt to protect the glass
Did someone already buy that bed for Honey? If not, can I? You can NEVER sell that bed 😁
He is not going to sell sweet little Honey's bed, Pete has already let us know it's not going anywhere. :- )
He can NEVER sell it, but you want him to sell it to you? Lol
@@tb-xy7lg No, my intention was to buy it FOR Honey 😊
It has already been bought for Honey.
I got what you were saying. Others apparently didn't.
That display countertop is so beautiful
"Let's get down to brass tacks here" that's a saying from a long time ago..
Yes, meaning "let's measure this, to be sure" 😀 geez, and I'm not really that old. Or am I?
You should switch the wood ice box around so you can use the doors for storage....
U give people way more than anyone else would. For good or bad it's something to see
Love watching these, can't stop. I hope the lady is happy in her position, she seems so sweet.
Awesome display case Pete.. That looks so nice and love the wood shelves they look tiger striped.. Well done.. Stay safe all..👍💕🔥⚾😷
Looks great Pete! Sometimes you need to make changes
Now you just need some nice commercial rugs in front of the display shelve and it will tie everything together
Love the chimes.. when someone comes in..
I bet those shelf brackets are nickel plated brass. Very nice show case.
you got the doors right the second time the stoppers is so when open fully you have something to grab and it doesnt go completely behind the other door
The outlet on the scroll saw is for hooking up a vacuum to remove the dust it creates
The opening on those saws is usually where you attach a shop vac to suck up the debris. Maybe that is what went there?
That case I'd beautiful. Great find Peter.
That first customer should run for office. He has the perfect Father/Politician voice!
Or at least become a RUclipsr if anyone know?
I bet that was the firsts Macaw to ever sit on that 100 year old display case.
That is not a scroll saw, it is exactly what you said an upside down jig saw, and it is about useless in a wood shop. I know because I have one. It is only good for very small stuff and good luck keeping it straight.
Love the bear bottle openers!
Nothing better then a cold bear. Beers good also.
Looks awesome..great piece! Enjoy your new set up..
The new counter glass is not going to last a month that's old glass is brittle glass. You should replace it with new glass and store away the original ones.
Looks amazing. Love that beautiful wood.
Vickie did you drop that boombox? haha! (joking!)
I would have cried if I had!!
I like the old AND the new display cases!
That cat bunk bed is awesome!
Those markers look like what was used to measure fabric. They probably represent yards.
Pete- Why not put some protective film on the new countertop glass all the way down. Then when the film gets scratched up, give it the heat gun for a few minutes, peel it off and replace it. I used to work with a company in Bullet & Bomb Blast Resistance Glass but their other division was in Bullet & Bomb Blast Resistance Films for houses and cars etc.. we did high security clearance jobs at the United Nations & similar.. but we also had smaller crews to do installs at homes for security .. at homes on golf courses that had been regularly hit with golf balls. A few people live in their vans & need to know they can leave it without theft. And some countertops like this we did too. The films come in clear or tints and various thickness for security. But for what you have there it wouldn’t need to be very expensive. I’d call around and see if there’s some companies that are in the business locally.. they’d have it done in an evening & ready for business the next morning.
I don't think Honey will fit through that opening. Although she will know for sure. As Honey approaches a narrow opening, her whiskers help her figure out if she'll fit through, because a cat's whiskers roughly correspond to the width of their body.
That is beautiful but Oh man Pete, I had the most beautiful old wood counter that came out of a jewelry store! It would have been perfect for your store✌️
Blade runner has port for dust collection hose to vacuum
13:20 is it the hand movement that's startling the bird?
New cabinet looks great!
Cabinet looks great Peter. Great job ! Cheers !
You have a nice shop, you ought to buy a couple gallons of floor epoxy and hook that floor up. It will look sweet!
