Pete, it's so easy to do a proper rewire on that lamp without splicing the cord. The metal socket shell has a stamp that says "Press" on it, typically next to the pull chain opening. Using your thumb, squeeze the shell by putting pressure on the word "press" and pull the two halves apart. Sometimes a small flat blade screwdriver can be used to help separate the halves if it doesn't want to come apart, but be careful not to damage the shell or scratch it. I'd take the shade off while doing that just to be careful. Cut and pull out the old wire, then feed a new wire through. Tie a underwriters knot in the wire in the cap of the socket, then attach the wire to the screws on the socket interior. That lamp would look nice with a gold rayon braided cord, would add a few dollars on it too... a proper rewire would definitely increase the value over a splice job. Love the videos Pete.

Why do people not understand that you don’t need to wear a chinstrap in public?
In Pete's shop, do as Pete does.
@@TemplarOnHigh the problem with your statement is that we don’t want to encourage authoritarian actions even by business owners.
The mask wearing was never about safety. It has always been about control.
@@CartoonForFood So my doctor wears one when he operates because control. You're insane.

I'm pretty libertarian and I'm sure everyone on this channel knows how to hustle and doesn't have time for wasting. This idea of stopping others from wearing a mask is up there with targeting people for wearing sunglasses inside. There's more than a hint of, shall we say, controlling others about it?
Let me show you what I'm seeing:
"Authoritarian actions by business owners"...
1. You don't want authoritarians telling you what to do. (Liberty for you!)
2. You don't want Pete doing what Pete wants to do. (No Liberty for Pete!)
3. You do want... to... be the authoritarian? (Liberty for you and not for Pete!)
That lamp you could take the shade off use it for a wall mounted light and simply change the bulb
I really miss Pete making what sold/thrifting/picking/BOLO vids like he used to. Been watching him for years now and tbh I barely check him out anymore since all he makes is videos about what people bring into the shop. Its kind of sad when you disconnect with a creator you used to really enjoy watching.
Well he cant please everyone. More people enjoy this content. Sorry
The lamp is really cool. Nostalgic piece!
that katana needs to have the handle taken off to see the maker of the sword,it could be worth thousands
It’s fun watching these guys try to sell this stuff.
what a class act guy dennis is
Yeah that's a good episode you met your match with Dennis. I miss you thrifting and dumpster diving used to find a lot of pet food. And the dumpster diving it's getting warm out hop in.
You should never touch a blade like this
One of the best ways to rust out a blade. Should be powdered and oiled before they was returned to the scabbard
I need a shop, because I will never get these at those prices.
