Dev2.0 was amazing, a real awakening of the energy of the DEVO classics. Their versions of DEVO songs are some of the best covers getting about. I just laughed how the lyrics were de evolved to be kid friendly. And maybe that was the incredible beauty of the project. Seeding all the little children with DEVO songs so they would turn into fans when older. It was spudriffic

@alainfromfrance Jerry speaks more than anyone else in Devo, he's always been the spokesman of the band. Even Mark isn't nearly as articulate.
Absolutely..... Gerry's' knowledge about the world of music is amazing, and then layer on his creativity and social awareness abilities - Wow~! Mark has different strengths, of course, but Gerry certainly drove DEVO conceptually in many ways. Check out his earlier interviews when he digs deep on topics.

One wonders if they ever explained to the Disney suits that their original material was about people just like them.
Anyone who thinks this is Devo selling out is completely naive. Think of it as experiments in feeding subversion through the Mouse Filter, first to see what the shape of that filter is, and second in an attempt to set up a longer-term social feedback loop to help kids to SEE the Mouse Filter through their own experience.

Devo rewritten by a Disney executive is kind of an interesting experiment, like giving an AI half a song and telling it to fill in the blanks.

Only one of them went out and started a band but when their album tanked (shocking), the singer and lead guitarist were so ass hurt that they quit music.
The drummer was in Portugal the man for a while back

Biggest mistake they ever made - lost a lot of respect for them. RIP Bob. Dev2.0 is HORRIBLE. Their music was not written for this kind of nonsense.
