I hated reading that the Zoo claimed the Elephant rocking back and fourth was just "expressing emotions" or "excited" when, its actually a sign of a neurological issue, due to extreme boredom, lack of space to move around, and lack of stimulation from confinement. I think a Zoo claiming its just a personality quirk, is a real sign of willful neglect or omitted abuse. A lot of the time animals that do that, you can see how small their confinement is with nothing in it to do but walk around in circles or just bob repetitively.
I have said all along that the zoo model does not suit elephants. Yet only the other day, I received a response telling me they were safe in the zoos. I could go into a big rant here but ignorance is what ignorance is. Call zoos out! Free Lucy!
I think what they are saying here is that the zoo model of keeping elephants in small enclosures leads to boredom and repetitive behaviours. Not any particular zoo but all zoos.
Even with the sad music the animals have it far worse than we think. Imagine being in confinement 24/7 in like a 4x4 meter box with absolutely nothing to do, it's torture
@@SolarisKane selfish because you want more animals in captivity after watching this I'm not saying zoos are evil, but it's things like this video that shows it can be better
@@SolarisKane kinda hard to tell in text But zoochosis is something directly caused by zoos which is horrible Imagine just being contained in a small area for basically your whole life, same mundane thing over and over Zoochosis mainly effects higher intelligent animals like elephants, chimpanzees and orcas because they're very social areas who naturally are supposed to live in very wide ranges to explore and be free in Not be secluded in one semi big area
They walk miles foraging and pooping out seeds that pass through their guts with a built in fertiliser like natures "Johnny Appleseed". It is only people that are useless!

1:21 the one with the torn ear 😢😢😢
Aww my heart is broken for these animals
It's time for all zoos to go, and preservatikon of animals in their natural habitats take priority
Very useful. Thank you.
Not much different then how people feel these days
what zoo are the elephants from?

I used this for my homework
Just used it today on an assignment
The sad music is a manipulation tactic. Just show the video normally
Even with the sad music the animals have it far worse than we think. Imagine being in confinement 24/7 in like a 4x4 meter box with absolutely nothing to do, it's torture
you can put the video on mute and it will still be just as sad.
😢
💔😓
The manipulative music is worse than the condition and has the opposite effect on me. More animals in zoos!
You sound very selfish
@@wooshydog Selfish because I want more people to enjoy and learn about these beautiful animals in person? Ok.

@@wooshydog You obviously never learned what sarcasm is. Of course I wouldn't mind zoos to be even better.

Lots of people in America have it far worse than these elephants. Before you give a dollar to "help" the elephants, give $50 to help people first.
Elephants are hostile and useless in the wild. They need yk to be put to good use in service to man
Elephant are considered a keystone species which means that they very important to their ecosystem.
