Get Monitored! alrm.gd/get-mon...
The Honeywell 5853 glass break detector is the only wireless glass break that Honeywell has made available for the LYNX Touch series. It is both effective and made to avoid false alarms. In this video Sterling gives a great, simple explanation of how to enroll the 5853 glass break sensor into the LYNX Touch L5200 wireless security system.
Just subscribed. Is there another option to install on each individual window for glass break detection? I’m afraid of false alarms with this sensor.
Does the 5853 has test mode?
How to test the glassbreak detector to see it is functioning ?
You'll need a glassbreak simulator that's listed as compatible with the glassbreak detector to properly perform a test. This FAQ gives you a good overview. The video is pretty good but it's not perfect. As soon as we can, we're going to reshoot it. www.alarmgrid.com/faq/how-can-i-use-the-fg701-to-test-the-honeywell-5853-for-proper-op
Do you have to be monitored?
The L5200 will work without monitoring as a local alarm system.
will this work on my L5100?
Is there a camera
Hi Myles, there is not a camera in the glass break or in the panel.
ya know, lightly smacking your keys on the housing is a great way to trigger a glass break
It is a great way to trigger the glass break. But it isn't a great way to know if you've installed it in the right place. An FG701 is going to be a better tester for that.
Cute!
