Thanks for making indoor training bearable. It is great to be able to listen to a podcast while riding with the scenery. I really appreciate your videos and the editing that you do to add some enjoyable elements.
I stumbled upon Arches on my way to Vegas many years ago and it was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. Now, thanks to you, I can relive that while I do a virtual ride in my home. Thank you very much for this! It’s a wonderful video.
Hi Jerry - Finished Arches today. On to my next adventure. Thank you for letting me ride along. Thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Regards, Randy in Arizona.
Thank you for posting these videos. I wish I had found them during the first lock down in the UK. I think you have really helped my mental and physical health.I hope to see this park for real one day. X
This was my first ever indoor ride on a new bike. You had me working hard, and smiling at the end of the ride. Thanks for posting! Looking forward to more rides on this channel!
Thank you! My indoor trainer was really boring me and all of those training apps are about competition. I just wanted to take a nice bike ride, and your video helped me accomplish exactly that in my garage. :-)
Just discovered your channel. I’m recovering from double total knee replacement and was looking for rides to watch while on my stationary recumbent bike. It’s nice to see that you’re actually on your bike filming. The footage from cameras mounted to the hood of the car are lousy. I visited Arches back in December 2001. It was a bit unnerving flying just a bit after the September 11th attacks.
Hello Jerry - Visited Arches in May 2019 and drove it in my F-350. I am enjoying the bike ride a lot more. Will do this ride in three 33 minute installments. Fantastic so far! Many thanks again. Regards, Randy in Arizona.
@@JerrysScenicCycling - Just completed the second 33 minute leg. Surprisingly enough, it took me exactly 33 minutes. One leg to go, probably tomorrow. Great fun so far. Arches is a magical place and I am glad I am getting to see it again. Thank you for getting me out of my easy chair. Regards, Randy in Arizona.
Yet another beautiful video, you allow me to cycle in wonderful places i will probably never get the chance to see, a big thank you from charlie in Ireland.
Thanks so much for posting this wonderful ride , just found you channel subbed going to be doing a lot of riding in my sunroom with you lol so pretty will be playing this one lots. you are taking us all with you on your trip to see things we might not ever get to see in our lifetime for me at least thank you 🙏
Love it! Perfect indoor training video for the upcoming "Social Distance" Skinny Tire Festival in Moab, March 13 - 16, 2021. Arches is day 3! PS Love all your Moab videos Jerry.
@@JerrysScenicCycling Marly and me will be at the Skinny Tire Festival this year on a Co-Motion tandem. Yep, enjoying your STF Moab indoor training rides and more on your channel Jerry. Thanks for making this past winter more enjoyable on the trainers. S
Hello again. I noticed Zion National Park has a RUclips video featuring a full-length trip from one park entrance to another park entrance, but I haven't been able to find similar RUclips videos for the four other Utah National Parks.
I have Canyonlands Island in the Sky section [40] and Arches [26]. I intend to do Bryce, Capitol Reef, and Zion but those will require multi-day trips. So far I've been able to make all my videos without staying overnight away from home. I've got about a dozen more rides lined up for next spring that I can do as day trips, then maybe I will have to do start doing overnighters. Zion will be the hardest one to do because of traffic. I'm thinking of doing it in winter.
Do you mean cattle guards, those bars across the road that rattle your teeth when you ride across them? Yes, and they have caused many a roadie a serious crash. As far as cattle crossings go, we encountered one at 57:34 of [58]. Remember how we plowed right through the cattle while the cars just sat there? And the cowboy waved a nice greeting to us! Seriously, it was a nice greeting because it is usually okay to creep one or two mph through the herd. Don't get out of your car. If you're on a bicycle, well, you're already living dangerously.
Can you post this video without the music? I find the music very distracting. Just the ambient road noise and nature sounds would be perfect, and you'd increase your viewership. Thanks
@@JerrysScenicCycling Yours are the best videos of this sort. Your first eight had no music, just the natural sounds, including a rushing river in videos 7 & 8, which was so lovely. In video 11, you began with the music. Other producers of these vids who add music will sometimes link to the raw video, too, but most don't. I think it's a more immersive experience with the natural sound. That's all I was saying. People who don't enjoy it raw can mute it and listen to whatever they like.
I've been through this before on other videos. As I said before, sometimes the wind noise is minimal, especially when riding slowly as in my early videos, then no music works. On this video the only ambient sounds are wind noise and automobiles, no birds singing or babbling brooks. Check the results of videos 36 and 36.1 where I actually fulfilled a request like yours. Video 36 with music has 40205 views, 392 Likes, 98.8% Like rate. Video 36.1 with ambient sound has 2858 views, 48 Likes, 96.8% Like rate. The majority of my viewers like the music and their comments more often tell me they like it than dislike it. I will be experimenting with a different sound system on future videos and will probably be able to post more with ambient sound where appropriate.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for these videos. I've returned from visiting my parents and I'm in isolation for two weeks. As an active guy I was climbing up the walls. Dug out my old bike trainer and found you videos. Ive always wanted to visit the area and this is the closest I'll get to it for a while. The quality is outstanding.
Traffic in Arches NP can be terrible. Go late afternoon and before tourist season to avoid traffic. Better ride in May to avoid traffic is Potash Road. Here it is in my [39] video ruclips.net/video/jurFb1GOkDs/видео.html
I'm planing on doing Canyonlands, Island in the Sky, this spring. Will have to stop at each view area because as I recall not much viewing from the road.
