Obviously this is all for fun but surprising omissions for me: Not even mentioned: Ronaldo, Rooney, Scholes, Giggs, and Terry. Mentioned but not included: Lampard and Makalele.
Both Giggs and Ronaldo was mentioned. I think at least Ronaldo would have been picked as winger if they went with 442, rather than 433/narrow diamond. But there are so many great strikers, and Ronaldo didn't become the striker he is in England, but in Spain. And these days, he wouldn't hold a candle to Shearer or Henry. @@jackfoulkes3075 The only mythology here is this idea that Gerrard could do what Scholes did best with anywhere close to the consistency. Barring possibly Pirlo, who never played in this league, I've never seen a player able to make the perfect pass with such regularity. It was unthinkable how often his pass not only sliced open the opponent, but more how it was almost always right on the money in terms of perfect weight, perfect position for maximum advantage and how he didn't need too much space to pull it off. Decision making was also top. In a technical sense, he was the very best this league has seen in terms of passing the football. It's a massive exaggeration to suggest Gerrard had anywhere near the same consistent level of vision or the execution in his passing, he had a killer cross but that's a very different skillset. Gerrard had his own qualities that Scholes didn't have, of course, but let's not pretend Gerrard came anywhere close to Paul Scholes' best attributes. As for the Zidane comments, there's no shortage of top players paying homage to Paul Scholes either. I remember listening to John Terry being able to sit there and openly saying that Scholesy could do things that he'd never seen other players do. Ronaldinho, Rooney, Zidane himself, Henry, Xavi, etc. all have said things along the same lines. He was among the most technically gifted footballers ever to play in this league, if not the most.

I’m not saying he’s one of the 3 best midfielders that’s played in the prem but I always liked Moussa Dembele from Spurs. He was great at receiving the ball from the defenders and turning forward and he carried the ball well
An unorthodox XI is what I didn't think I needed. Thank you TIFO. Absolute lads
Only a spurs fan can shoehorn 3 ex spurs players into an all time PL XI 😂😂😂
I could watch this trio for an hour as they pick out their all-time PL XIs.
I've love a 3-4-3, with active wingbacks to provide width. Team managed by Jurgen Klopp.
GK: Alisson Becker (Liverpool)
CBs: John Terry (Chelsea), Virgil Van Dijk (Liverpool), Rio Ferdinand (Man United)
LWB: Ryan Giggs (Man United)
RWB: Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea)
DM: N'Golo Kante (Chelsea)
CM: Steven Gerrard (Liverpool)
FWs: Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Didier Drogba (Chelsea), Cristiano Ronaldo (Man United)
He's not finished, he's only 27
Sir Alex Ferguson won a premier league with Cleverly Jones Anderson Smalling and with the Glazers in charge as the owners.
Sir Alex saw off every challenge that came his way (Wenger Mourinho Mancini Ancelotti) and that’s the proof that if he were younger in age, he’d have seen off the “Pep” challenge as well.
Not to forget, Sir Alex won the European Cup Winners Cup with Aberdeen defeating Real Madrid.
Pep inherited a treble winning Bayern team and could Not even take them to a UCL final.
You guys should do insights on how your teams would play. You've already done that but with the tactical knowledge that you guys have I would LOVE to see how this team would set up for set plays. Quality content, up the tifo!
Should set them up on FM and see who wins
Cristiano Ronaldo, Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney, Berckhamp, Roy Keane, Terry, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Makelele, Azpilicueta, Butt did not make it to anyone's team. Pure class 🙏
Daley Blind? 😂
@@IzingaI sorry 😂. Corrected it to Nicky Butt. Thanks for the comment 🙏
would love to this stuff like this but with a draft format i know the last thing football needs is to be americanized, feel like it would be awesome
I don't know what to expect from Alex anymore, and that's the beauty of the man.
Did Seb try and sneak in a cheeky Peter Crouch towards the end there? An unappreciated legend fo sho
Michael Carrick's style = San Pellegrino in an overcoat pocket
That was a brilliant metaphor Alex!
If Moussa Dembele doesn't get at least a mention Tifo are going to be dealing with one angry boy
Anti Niemi’s not finished, he’s only 28
No he's Finnish
@@bri1085 he’s not Scottish?
Never thought Luggy would ever get a mention in a Tifo Video! Well done Alex & of course Green Army!
My 18th birthday gift was a flight out to the San Siro for a Milan game around 04/05. Resting players prior to a midweek champions league game, I watched Anceleotti play Stam at right-back and he was FRIGHTENING all game long. A brick sh*thouse with 89 pace. Absolute powerhouse.
At least they need to put a photo for Alex's boyhood hero haha
I’m always look for the Gk first. If it isn’t Schmeichel, then it loses all the integrity immediately.
Noice! Well done!
When your pick is so out of left field that Tifo haven't illustrated him. And I'm saying this as a Finn.
The CB shouts where great but as a pair (albeit short lived) John Terry & Ricardo Carvalho will always come up tops for me. That defensive unit in General with Cech, Cole & Ferreira was water tight!
Either John Terry is becoming underrated or he's being forgotten about because of his admittedly questionable reputation as a human surely he deserved a shout in one of you guys teams
He had the easiest job in football. Surrounded by Cole, Carvalho, Makelele and Cech. Phil Jones would look world class there
@@domiNATEgame14 Ok so by your logic a player like Maldini also had the easiest job in football since he played alongside Nesta, Costacurta, Tassotti, Baresi, Gattuso, Cafu and Stam in his career... Football is a team game and to say something as tone deaf as 'Phil Jones would look class there' is laughable, Terry was world class even years after some of those players left anyway
@@Daiton45 I dunno what formation/position is going on there but that's a mad one lad
@@domiNATEgame14 I dunno how you can't differentiate between a formation and simply just listing players lad...
@@Daiton45 I see your mistake now. Sorry for assuming you had a brain. I should have known better
Alex Ferguson also said he was wrong about Stam loosing a yard of pace , and selling him was a huge mistake.
Alex is, but it’s great logic…
Now for his forwards.. Thierry Henry and Lucas Digne
JJ Bull's face makes me smile. That is all.
Did you know Aberdeen once beat Real Madrid 2-1 in the 1983 cup winners cup final?
So McGrath was picked in an all-time world XI but not a premier league XI
Yes! Was hoping to see more All-Tme XI's!
Obviously this is all for fun but surprising omissions for me:
Not even mentioned: Ronaldo, Rooney, Scholes, Giggs, and Terry.
Even prime Ronaldo at Real Madrid would be a toss-up to take Henrys spot. And he doesn't fit as a f9 same way as Cantona/Sila did. As a PL striker, nobody can argue with Shearer.
@@Taeerom oh I must’ve missed it when they mentioned them. But anyway, with some of the questionable picks they had, I would’ve found a way to add Ronaldo…. Like instead of modric or bale or something
@@klicclak Bale and Gerrard as fullbacks is questionable. Ronaldo would be even more questionable.
I would probably have gone for a 343/352 variant with Bale and Becks (or something, haven't thought it through) as wingbacks. There are so many good midfielders and cb in PL that I think it is a mistake going for a 433.
@@Taeerom I think a 343 or 352 would definitely be best since there isn’t like a clear RB choice and plenty of CBs. Like Cole is the clear LB choice and could easily play in one of these formations but I’d rather have another CB than like Neville or Zab or Lauren. Bale or Cole on the left is formidable.
“Turned them into the machine they *aren’t today.” There, fixed it for JJ!
Greattt vid!! It'd be fascinating to see these teams go head to head.
My personal xi:
Schmeichel
Walker-Vidic-VVD-Irwin
Scholes-Kante-Gerrard
Salah-Rooney-Henry
Vidic a weak link
@@bri1085 seriously
@@sthita1104 yeah, from that team he's the easiest to point at and say you could do better
@@bri1085 When Walker is in the team? What?
@@PpTheGreatest definitely
I had another dream regarding the adventures with Tifo.
Alex came to our pub and gave a lecture on stoicism and what it means to be a Southampton supporter. I went to take a piss and ended up seeing Tom Worville again, he was frightened as no one should see him beyond the confines of the scatter gram.
Cech, Terry, Lamps and Drogba still underrated :)
Cech and Terry are in an all time PL XI, but Lamps and Drogba do not deserve to be near an all time PL XI
Nice to see Shay Given taking our beloved Joe Devine's Place at hosting this video.
It's wild how much JJ loves that Barcelona midfield yet always opts for Gerrard over Scholes
Stop buying into Scholes the myth, he was a quality player no doubt, but he's been mythologised to the point of being unrecognisable
@@jackfoulkes3075 Putting the fact that you are completely wrong about that to one side for a minute. The point i'm making here is more about the style of player than the ability.
@@bri1085 I'd say the fact that I watched him live every other week for almost his entire career means I'm probably in a better position than you to recognize how good or not he was.
Scholes wasn't even the best midfielder at United. Keane was better than him by a decent margin.
Ffs lads there needs to be a FM tournament or something with these teams
The he is Finnish joke went straight over everyone head.
Shocked Terry didn't get any shouts
