My only beef with this game was the fact that you were fighting Ties on the Hoth mission instead of the walkers. I liked blowing up walkers in the original trilogy arcade game.
Good observation, but it’s not really THAT bad. 🤔 Remember that in the original movie (E.S.B.) the ships only fight the “Camels”. It wasn’t until Return of the Jedi where we only see the “Walkers” in action. 😎 The ONLY 🥩 that I have with both Star Wars Arcade games is that we don’t use the cord to take down the “Camels” in the Hoot battle. 😭
Agreed. There were no Tie Fighters at the battle of Hoth for the same reason the Rebellion had problems with fighter craft: there was difficulty adapting them to the cold.
Man, this game really is Trilogy Arcade 2.0. Just without the lightsaber stuff and more in-your-face VR-like action. And I'm not gonna lie, some of these camera shots are *amazing* like gliding along a Hoth wall or getting to see the Death Star II fire when actively engaged in combat, the latter was outright terrifying to see a cockpit perspective of it. That second half-complete mess was NEVER fear inducing until that moment. ...Oh. Oh that final level is a What If story, huh. And what a final level to go out on.
You cannot deny that although Sega absolutely smashed it with Star Wars arcade and Trilogy, Namco captured something really special here. A beautiful and immersive arcade game.
I freaking love the battlepod, it's so atmospheric, they did a fantastic job with making the game immersive. Also is it just me or is killing that last TIE interceptor at Hoth the hardest challenge in this whole game 😅
He seems simple enough it’s the one ship halfway through I lose my combo on that gets me… just shifts all over the place!! Always dropping the combo there!
I would agree that it took me a couple tries to get the combo down right on the TIE Interceptor, but after that, the hardest challenge, for me at least, has been the second Y-Wing after the Y-Wing special weapon multikill in the first half of Vader's Revenge. At 14:57, you seem to take it down easily.
I haven't played these in years and kind off cried for re-watching the game of how it felt chaotically immersive it felt playing it in the arcade. And i was a pro and always get rank 1 on all the missions.
Star Wars Battle Pod bosses Yavin 1: Vader's Tie Advance Hoth 2: Tie Interceptor Endor 3: AT-ST Death Star II none, sorry Darth Vader's Revenge 4: Han Solo's Millennium Falcon 5: Han Solo's Millennium Falcon[60% health] and Nebulon-8
Man, I remember this game, I used to dominate the leaderboard. But I did notice you made a few mistakes which I shall list. #1: You constantly kept firing, that can really cause a problem for you, since you have limited power #2: Keep your sights on the enemy at all times, do not lose them. #3: Only use the special attack when you think you have enough time to use it.
@starwarsbattlepod I should've also mentioned use the special attack as much as you can when you keep your sights on the enemy. It's a real time saver, or just soften 'em up first, then use the attack.
Basically if Vader was an absolute menace after the Death Star was destroyed, went into an entire army of Rebels alone, killed Han Solo and gave the movie a much less happy ending
I kinda wish it did and they just cut out the part where Han dies. The idea of Vader failing to protect the Death Star so he goes out in anger to destroy its remnants and any rebel ship he sees is badass.
I've just got this up and running on Teknoparrot. Any scoring tips? I always drop the combo, what's key for keeping it going, hitting enemies or just destroying them quickly? Apparently there's an Easter egg on Yavin that's worth 1mil but I've no idea what it is. Great run btw.
just keep the combo going, there is a few sections I think where you have to kill quickly on some areas, then slower on others to chain the combo... I have heard this Easter egg and seen instructions but never seen a video to see how its done or got it to work! BTW your never get a perfect score on Endor due to the brake not working :(
@@gg-7974 I'm using an RTX 2060 and it runs perfect at a constant 60fps. So far all Teknoparrot games are 60fps, including Scarlet Dawn. Before that I managed to get it working on an old 1030 by tweaking the ini settings and disabling lots of the shader effects. It was playable but not very good - the Death Star was completely black for instance! Still averaged 30 fps.

The whole point of the walkers on Hoth is the Empire couldn't use fighters because of the shield.
@@mikevanroy9356 but once the shield went down, ties could come in

That transition to the death star 2 surface at 11:00 is insane imo
That last Vader mission is too cold

I can’t believe this happened after Vader got flown from the Death Star before it exploded!

I love this game. I used to go to Dave and Busters and spend everything in my card on this game
We needed more of these pod like arcades, like Mad max or James bond
Thank you for showing this off, maybe some day i'll come across a Battle Pod and can play it myself.
I USED TO PLAY THIS GAME AT MY CHILDHOOD MALL OMG IT FEELS LIKE UR ACTUALLY FIGHTING IN A STAR WARS JET IRL LOL 😂😂😂😂
This needs to be at 4K and as a VR game.
My favorite was Takodana. Say what you will about the sequels, but Force Awakens did the hardest starfighter intro ever on Takodana❤❤🔥🔥🇺🇸🇺🇸

Its cool tho the way vader literally solo the rebels him self while the rebels literally attack together vader's solo's them alone
Should put this game out in VR.
that would be fun!

Didn’t realize this is another way to kill Han Solo
I guess this was supposed to be a alternate ending of a new hope.

I miss the rebellion 😢😢
Bruh the one I played was actually really messed up, I just thought it was extremely hard lmao
Yeah the quality of controls feature heavily on how well you play this...
For y'all asking about Vader's revenge, it's not canon and it never happened, but it's an exclusive bonus level for the game
I kinda wish it did and they just cut out the part where Han dies. The idea of Vader failing to protect the Death Star so he goes out in anger to destroy its remnants and any rebel ship he sees is badass.
Excellent game!!!!! PS. Master Yoda vs Darth Bane Ghost, excellent!!!!!!!
If im rich enough i will buy the pod and play all day

Is the Easter egg a special ship or something? I've been scanning the level and can't see anything hidden in the background.

Are you able to play with a controller on PC?
Yep, I was using a flight stick but prefer it on an Xbox controller.@@DragonLord0319
In high school my spare change would go to this game at the arcade
I never heard about this game until now. It looks amazing. Is it a complete rail shooter or do you have some control in your movements?
its very much a rail shooter... but its still fun!
only issues i have with the battle pod is that the missions were criminally short and the horrible massive crosshair and combo text pop-ups.
Capcom should’ve had their chance of making a Star Wars video game.
When will namco release this on xbox or playstation. I really really wish it would have.
We need a console game like this
Are you flying a X Wing in the Hoth Mission instead of a Snowspeeder?
