I tried your game, i enjoyed it very much. It plays so smoothly, the research process is simple and yet challenging at the same time. I was thinking about it the other day, then i stumbled upon your old video log about the 7 years dev time of Sapiens, and it came to me. Omg, he's a thaumcraft fan, i said to myself! Very well done sir!
Dude this game is so cool. Don't stop working on it, seriously this has the potential to become a timeless classic. One recommendation (as someone who's only seen your 7 year documentary) is maybe add in an option for those who don't like to micro manage everything. Personally I think it would be cool if the game could run without my input, but would also be cool if I could micro manage it when I feel like it. I plan on buying it in the near future when I can afford it, seriously this looks like one under appreciated gem. As a wanna be dev you are an inspiration building this whole thing from scratch.
I miss the more regular updates. But I take what I get. It is always great to see what you implemented and where you are going. I think the little bit of chaos is a good addition and just based on what you told us the frequency seems good too.
Just started a new game for the first time in a while. I couldn't really tell you exactly what all has changed but it feels like everything is just more polished and such. I've been suggesting the game to people I know that will enjoy it. It's really coming along and has that special something that sets it apart from others in the genre.
Love this game. And really enjoyed seeing it grow over the last 5 years! Glad it got such a nice warm welcome from the Gaming community. Hope to see some steam deck support soon 😊 would love to play this game anywhere and anyhow!
I'm very excited for this update. I've checked three times so far today to see if it's posted yet 🤣. Keep up the great work because I think this is one of my favorite world building games ever.

I love this game. I love how simple and yet deep and realistic it is. Also something about the graphical appearance is just appealing to me. Awesome work, will be buying the game as soon as possible!
Lovely game! just played for 2 weeks but really excited over where this is going! I only wish for some added mechanics around skills and equipment, its so satisfying to feel like you are actually investing in individuals and get to reap the benefit from that. As it is now its mostly traits that make an individual to stand out, be cared for and remembered as someone important, and traits are just luck. Maybe degrees of skills that can be passed on, that would mean children following their parents foraging would have accumulated some knowledge of plants when adult, and seniors would be great teachers.. Or some completely different idea!
this game has so much potential, I love it. You should get a designer team behind you and work on clothing, cotton and whatnot. Harvesting and crafting or fletching. Maybe some milestones to have the items locked behind it. Bronze age, Iron age , middle ages and so on so on. Smithing weapons from steel. I love what you are doing and I know working solo is hard. Keep up the good work! There are so many ideas. :)
Great update !! It would be fun if in the in the future meteorological events were related to some regions (like you could be in a biome were there's a lot of rain but no windstorm, so thatch would be a good building material but mudbrick would not be)
Awesome work! Looking forward to playing with all the new content. I really feel like the game will come into its true element in 0.5 with the edition of multiplayer, trading, more advanced AI, etc. Really curious if we will ever be able to fill the whole globe with trade networks, ships, encountering allied & enemy tribes. Maybe such a large scale map would be possible with the ability to control multiple self-sufficient tribes PS: Have you thought about adding a search bar for all these new items?

Pretty cool update. I would like to share some of my thoughts. Keep up the good work! Do the storms happen only on a section of the planet, or planet wide? Would be realistic to no be all at once. :) Would trees also be able to fall down and damage anything that is below it? That would be a cool mechanic. It would be nice if there was like a little bit of time between the first clouds rolling in and the wind beginning to pick up before the storm extually happend. That way you would have a little bit of time to react and make some last minute repairs, just like in real life. Please add the rare possability for a storm to be a lightning storm. Lightning could start a tree and building fire!
Sweet, this looks good. I like the compost, now we can get rid of the rot piles. Storage limits YAY. I love the Comment " I did it because I could get away with it" So what inspired the Wind event ? Was the Cyclone Gabrielle or did you visit Wellington. Thanks Dave.
A quick few things I was thinking about. When you add natural disasters never make them too powerful that it could destroy peoples structure majorly. Like you did with the mudbricks and thatchroofs I think works well. Or allow to build protections against it. So if you may add a storm with thunder and lightning and the lightning might cause a fire or something, allow the player to build measures against devastating destruction through it. Also, since I have seen a lot of negative reviews on Steam of people saying you abandoned the game. Maybe show bits and pieces of what you are working on every now and then again. Just like a screenshot or something, this allows people to see that you are still active. I have seen a game die this way and it would be super duper sad if that would happen to sapiens too.
13:36 Will we have Monsoons, hurricanes, dust devils, tsunamis, heatwaves, whiteouts, droughts, tornadoes, floods, stampedes, migrations, earthquakes, avalanches, sinkholes, mudslides, snow and hail depending on the biome location and season?
It's been a long while since I could play, so I can't remember... Is there a feature where those who research a new topic can then teach it to others, who learn it at a faster pace? If not, I think that would be a nice feature to add. I mean, in reality, learning/discovering something new does take time. But when it's learned, that new knowledge/skill can then be taught to others in a fraction of a time since the hard part has already been done.
will there be more animals to hunt or even to farm as life stock in the future? cuz atm the Lama's get hunted down really fast and mammoths take to long to pass by again , or even don't migrate in the tropicals. Maybe even some predator animal like wolf or crocodile in the tropicals. Also fishing using nets made of flax or rods with ropes and bone hooks for fishing the rivers..
